"Sad to share that what used to be a proud, classic 5-star Swiss hotel experience now is reduced to an overpriced mediocre experience, at best. Through my stays during the past 15 years, I have witnessed a hotel fading to become a worn-down average 3-star hotel without proper staffing or attentive service, but fighting to stay in the five star range – at least when it comes to pricing. How about a 40$ simple gin & tonic in the bar? After you had to walk over to the front desk so they could try to locate a grumpy bartender. Twice! Breakfast was slow, even we were the two only guests. Ordered fried eggs and it took at least 15 mins for them to produce it. Coffee was semi-cold all three mornings. In general, the staff has severe problems communicating in English, so expect confusion and misunderstandings. If you are sensitive to mold, well, you should definitely choose another hotel. The pictures speaks for itself, this is next to the bed. In general, the lack of maintenance of the hotel is very visible. If you try the outdoor pool, look out for screws in the deck which have popped out everywhere. The so-called Turkish sauna barely broke out a sweat, and the ceiling was black of mold. Leukerbad is quite hilly, so dragging your luggage around is not ideal. We therefore ordered transport by the hotel minivan at 8:30 to the bus station the day before departure, to make our connection for journey back home. The transport was confirmed twice by the front desk. Checked out at 8:15 and sat down waiting for the transport, nobody came at agreed time (come on, this is Switzerland, right?), minutes went by, our bus was departing soon, went to ask the front desk, she was sorry, but the portier had took off with the van filled with luggage for a group that was departing later. No one could not drive us. She had no other suggestion, so instead of calling a taxi or try to help us in another way, she just continued doing nothing and yelled it was not her fault. We ended up running through the town with our bags and made our connection in less than a minute. A good advice; pick another hotel in otherwise amazing Leukerbad. Les Sources Des Alpes can no longer defend their stars – neither price. A 3-star at best. "

"The hotel is showing its age and desperately needs a renovation. The room still had carpeting and no balcony. On the plus side, it has rooms with twin beds that can be separated. The room size is good. The hotel also has its own spa area with a small steam room and sauna, as well as indoor and outdoor pools. An underground passage leads to the thermal baths, which is great because you can simply walk over in your bathrobe. The breakfast buffet is standard. Why a Swiss hotel offers mozzarella for breakfast instead of a fine mountain cheese is beyond me. The coffee comes from a fully automatic machine, so it's not for coffee lovers. But otherwise, it has everything you need. There's a nice lobby/bar area with a fireplace, perfect for starting or ending the evening. The bar opens at 4 pm."

"Fabulous stay a this beautiful hotel. All the staff are amazing and attention to detail exceptional. We had hiked over from Kandasteg, we arrived earlier than expected but our room was ready and our luggage taken our room. It was my husband's birthday the day we arrived and it was noted by staff after filling in details for guest card. The resturant had decorated our table and made the evening fun and special. So a big thank you to all the staff for your thoughtfulness and kindness. The food is amazing."

"Great value for the price. It’s a very well-kept place with cozy interiors dating back to the nineties, when “Swiss quality” really meant a difference. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Although the breakfast starts somewhat late for a hotel in Switzerland (after 8:00) you’ll get to enjoy your traditional morning meal in a beautiful restaurant room with views of the Alpine panorama. A great choice we made for our trip in early March, where we made the winter walk from Sunnbüel (Kandersteg) to Gemmi (Leukerbad)."

"The hotel is located close to the thermal baths and different restaurants, which was an advantage for us. The receptionist spoke perfect English and made us feel welcomed from the first minute. The service was on the highest level, I wished for all receptions to be like this. The offered breakfast was of great quality, there was a big choice of food and drinks, even milk (for vegetarians or lactose intolerance). The only minus was the parking- it says there is available parking on spot, but there is not. We had to park the car at the city hall parking, and then pay for it additionally. It wasn’t far away, but it was an unpleasant surprise. Other than this, everything was cool."

"The hotel is in serious need of renovation. There were only fifteen people staying and so was rather ghost like. We were given rooms on the top floor which were small, with tiny windows looking out on the roof with no view which was a shame as other floors were obviously available. The bathroom has chipped tiles and cracked basin. The breakfast is a good spread but everything has been sitting for ages so cooked things are dried out. The bar is permanently closed and there is no sitting area, and the pools although hot, the jets are no longer working. It is a shame as it has so much potential."

"Hotel looks very nice, bedrooms are quite large, clean, silent and comfortable. Breakfast is very good and ou can also enjoy a small (but very nice) spa (not as big as the Leukerbad one but noce and much less crowded) We paid around 750 CHF for 2 people for 2 nights, not cheap but reasonable considering the level of the hotel and the QC Terme cost in Bormio (similar hotel but based in Italy which should be cheaper - we paid 1200 € for a similar accomodation) Highly recommended if you love spa in great places"

First, the staff are the most helpful and friendliest people you will ever meet. Second, tons of amazing tiny little details everywhere. This hotel is so special. Everything high-end. "Stayed for one night with family as a last minute decision to stay in Leukerbad overnight. Great location in heart of town, but I wouldn't return due to a couple of frustrations. What we loved: The location of the hotel is superb, right in the heart of Leukerbad, incredible views and with walking access to everything we wanted to do when there. There was a party right outside the hotel in the centre of town which went on until 3am which shows how central this is (not the hotels fault)! The spa facilities were also great, incredibly clean and easy to use. If you are travelling with children though I recommend you choose an alternative hotel with a bigger traditional pool which are available in Leukerbad. Finally, the buffet breakfast was superb on site. What we disliked: Firstly, we are not at all demanding with hotel stays but there were a few things I wouldn't expect in a hotel that is CHF400 per night. 1: The cleanliness of the room was not great. On arrival we dropped a phone under the bed and when we looked to get it out there was a huge amount of dust and dirt there. This was the same under the sofa bed in the lounge too. 2: We asked whether we could have a couple of additional sachets of coffee and creamer given we had traveled hours to get there and wanted another coffee in the room and were told no! This surprised me and so we had to head out to get a drink! 3. There is no air conditioning in the rooms. This region of Switzerland gets really hot in the summer and overnight, even though temperature was only moderately warm the rooms were sweltering and kids struggled to sleep."
