Ibis Budget Cahors ★★

📍 936 Côte des Ormeaux, Cahors

Hôtel-Spa le Saint Cirq
8.8 (41 reviews)

Hôtel-Spa le Saint Cirq ★★★

📍 175 rue du Panorama LIEU DIT, Tour-de-Faure

"This hotel is beautifully located across the valley from St Cirq Lapopie. It is a very good location with ample easy parking. The rustic room had a patio leading on to the vinyard. Simply beautiful. The man in charge is a very practical person. Easy check-in and good breakfast. The place has a few quirks like the bathroom. It's big and the water pressure is great but half the room gets soaked after a shower. Also, the AC switches off by itself when someone goes out on the patio. The person inside has to get up every time to switch it back on. No remote. But these are small things when considering how fascinating St Cirq looks at night, all lit up, from the bedroom."

Château de Mercuès
9.1 (54 reviews)

Château de Mercuès ★★★★

📍 Rue du Château, Mercues

"This was our 6th stay at the Chateau de Mercues, the last being in 2022. This time was much improved from the previous which was still recovering from the pandemic. We have had Room 7 five times and this time Room 6 which was even more luxurious - both overlooking the weir. The chateau itself is beautiful but we noticed that the grounds are not kept as well as our first stay in 2016. The herb garden has gone and it is 'kept' without being beautifully kept. The Chateau itself is immaculate and the Bar and Restaurant areas lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for four nights this time. The first night we had a meal in Le Dueze. We think it is overpriced and the portions are minute - also very expensive for the petit option - Euros 150 each. It is not to our taste but it is the only option available when Le Bistro is closed. We had one night with a platter on the terrace which was lovely but only because Le Dueze was full and I asked in advance of our stay to have that. On previous occasions, platters were available in the rooms but I felt I had to push for it. The Bistro was excellent on both nights - much more to our taste and on the second night the chef offered to do us something different which was kind so we didn't have to have the same food two nights running. We felt this time the staff were more helpful and trying harder. The only gripe we had with our room - which we also had with our previous room is that the plumbing is very bad in the sinks which drain very, very slowly. Only the sinks, the rest of the plumbing is fine so I wonder if they need some attention. Overall, a beautiful place and a most relaxing stay."

Hôtel Mercure Figeac Viguier du Roy Hotels in Lot

Hôtel Mercure Figeac Viguier du Roy

"This hotel was an absolute delightful surprise. While searching for hotels in Figeac, this one, nestled within a castle once owned by Philip IV and boasting distinct medieval architectural features, immediately caught my eye. Upon entering the lobby, the prominent 93-point award, the front desk design, and the overall interior design throughout the castle left a truly impressive mark. Every staff member we encountered, like the incredibly courteous gentleman in the lobby—who I believe was either the hotel director or manager 👨🏻‍💼—was exceptionally welcoming. He enthusiastically showed us around the hotel's layout, guiding us to the dinner and breakfast areas. He also shared fascinating details about the castle's history. When we went to the front desk to book dinner, we had the pleasure of meeting the chef 👨🏻‍🍳. He was a bit reserved but meticulously explained the evening's dining options and set menus. He mentioned a "mystery box" style tasting menu with 6 authentic local dishes (which actually turned out to be 7, with a complimentary tuna appetizer). At 69 euros per person, we were all intrigued and immediately decided to go for it! The outcome was incredibly surprising and truly excellent value for money. We also opted for the 25 euro per person wine pairing, which included four glasses. Our sommelier was highly professional, and like the food, the wine pairing was a delightful 'mystery box.' We were so lucky; the dry white wine we received was a Grand Cru Burgundy, and the sommelier was very generous with his pours, giving us nearly full glasses each time, clearly hoping we'd have a fantastic time. Overall, it was incredibly good value for money 👍🏻. Breakfast, due to it being the off-season, offered a standard selection. But generally, the ambiance, quality, and service were all highly commendable. I hope this provides a great reference for fellow travelers visiting Figeac."

Hôtel des Grottes Hotels in Lot

Hôtel des Grottes

"We stayed here the night before our tour of the Pech Merle cave, which is only a few minutes away. The hotel is right on the river, and we enjoyed having drinks on the terrance before dinner, although it was too chilly to eat dinner outside. The rooms are simply but tastefully decorated, and everything was in good condition. The "river view" was reallya view of the restaurant roof with a little glimpse of river, but it did include the beautiful greenery on the other rieverbank, so that was nice. The restaurant had choices for everyone, including vegetarians: the veggie burger was quite nice! We didn't eat the hotel's breakfast, but instead went to the boulangerie down the road for some coffee and delicious pastries."

Auberge de la Sagne Hotels in Lot

Auberge de la Sagne

"Restaurant was not open although we thought it would be. Swimming pool was empty and would take 3 days to refill. Shower in room was dirty (see photos below) Really did not consider this a 'Superior king room' at 100€ per night. We ate at the Hotel des Grottes which was absolutely fabulous."

Le Grand Couvent de Gramat

"We visited the chapel inside the convent and it is beautiful and very well kept. It is regularly open for Sunday worship and easy to get to and there’s free parking outside. You can for a walk in the grounds and there is the hotel next door. Situated next door to Gramat railway station."

Les Jardins de la Contie Hotels in Lot

Les Jardins de la Contie

"History Buffs; you couldn't find authentic lodging than Jardins de la Contie! According to the English owner Ken, the farm was built in the mid 1300's. It was a labor of love for Ken and his wife to restore it. He was a wealth of information about the countryside, Figeac, and the historic places around Figeac. Our room was perfectly equipped with refrigerator, tea maker, coffee maker, and four beds; one King and two Singles. It was on the first level the property, surrounded by fields and ancient lanes which you can walk from the compound of three cottages plus a cool heated swimming pool. The breakfast was standard French fair, but topped off with a lively discussion with Ken about life in the Middle Ages and his efforts to totally restore the buildings. It's approximately 7 km from Figeac on good roads. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone interested in history and is one of our favorite places to stay in SW France!"

"The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable. Not easy, sometimes in a mouth to the hosts tracassins who write bitterly and sarcasticly probably because they are not used to the houses that have a soul. So go to "Formule 1" and stay there!! Thanks, lady the host."

Château de Mercuès ★★★★
"Lovely experience to celebrate my husband's birthday. The ambiance in the chateau is traditional with low-keyed elegance and some surprising playful modernity. Our "superior" room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The site is especially attractive with a marvelous overview of the Lot and vineyards. The gardens are well maintained. Delightful sculptures add a playful touch. Despite excessive rain in May, fragrant roses were blooming. The Olympic pool is well-situated as is the clay tennis court. We much enjoyed the wine-tasting experience of four cuvees of excellent and unique Cahors wine. Our dinner was excellent. The menu provided a variety of choices. The cuisine was "just right" - a bit traditional, but also "modern" but without being "over-fussed." The service was very professional but not "stuffy." One young server in particular (Theo) was like sunshine on a cloudy day --which, alas, it was."

"I strongly recommend this hotel for the reception of Mamadou and Sebastien for their professionalism, gentleness, kindness to welcome us in this beautiful place. We have been left to guide by the invention of the delicious cocktails of Sebastien worthy of a great Parisian barman whom I strongly recommend to make his knowledge by his experience. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. I would like to thank Mamadou and Sebastien for the welcome to receive the passing customers."
