Hotel Victoria

Cobwebs on lampshade. No water pressure in shower. Only two coffee satchets. Cracked sink basin. Too hot in room.heating on full blast. Bed was very comfy. Great sized tv. Nice and close to the beach. Would of been nice to have a sea view. Went out with Enricos family

Great hotel with awesome location and good hospitality Will surely recommend for family outings with all major eatery and super markets within walkable distance Staff were very courteous and welcoming Breakfast is served on order so better plan in advance

Just when you think everything is perfect the food and customer service here gets better and better. I came down for a two nights stay and took advantage of meeting a couple of friends for a seniors by the sea lunch on Tuesday. Such good value for money! I had things to do for the rest of the day but used the restaurant that evening so I was one of the first to try their new menu. Inspired! The scallop and king prawn gratin starter was to die for. As I was still feeling a bit full from lunch I had the caramelised onion Risotto for main and enjoyed that with a glass of house red, which to my delight was a decent merlot. I went to bed duly satisfied and was soothed to sleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I awoke refreshed to a spectacular sunrise and was spoiled by a perfect eggs Benedict for breakfast. Nobody does eggs Benedict like the hotel Victoria. I had some paperwork that I worked on back in my room with the spectacular sea view then as I was teased by the restaurant menu the night before I had a bar snack for lunch (tasty cod bites with tartare sauce) and a lovely cappuccino to leave room for an evening meal, before a quick stroll around and completion of my paperwork. The peaceful atmosphere was conducive to my productivity. For my last evening I had soup of the day (French onion) which had such a depth of flavour followed by skate in a burre blanc sauce and chose to have it with triple cooked chips. I felt too full for a desert but instead enjoyed a liquor coffee with amaretto. I retired to my room suitably sated. As I so enjoyed the eggs Benedict on my first morning I opted for the same dish from the varied breakfast menu before a relaxed check out and hitting the road home. I did have a bowl of prunes and grapefruit with a glass of orange juice to start and some nice toast and marmalade with coffee afterwards. I cannot wait for a return visit.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Victoria. Staff are always friendly and polite. Great choice for breakfast. Fabulous views (room with seaview). Room clean and comfortable. Nice bar area. Good choice of food for the restaurant and bar. Xxx

I needed a short break and randomly chose the Victoria. I glad I did, sure the room was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable and everything I needed was there. I guess the only problem was the time it took to get hot water to the bath/shower. But the staff were very friendly the food was way above 5 star. Great view from the bedroom and restaurant. I will definitely be back. I throughly recommend this hotel.
