Venus Hostel

We stayed in Luxor Venus Hotel for one night and the whole experience was great. The owner Hassan was super nice, made us feel at home right from the start. We had a welcome drink, and complementary waters. The place has a very good and familiar vibe, with guests from all around the world. We had dinner there for a very Nice price as well. Location is super central, at walking distance from Karnak and Luxor temples, as well as from local bazars and shops. The room is according with what is expected, with bathroom, tv and AC. In the end the owner Hassan arranged us a taxi to go to the airport. Definetly an excellent choice to stay in Luxor and a great value for money.

Hotel is good for just 1-2 nights. Overall I would say its an expensive budget hotel. Staff is all well Mannered and helpful. Kitchen guy help me with extra omelette as I am lactose intolerant. Terrace has the overview of the temple which is a steal but due to the nature of Egypt itself, u can smell manure from horses everywhere. It depends on individuals. As for me, visited afew countries and got the same standard hotel but has no problem. This is what i experience 1. TV is not working.. probably u can on it but u can’t change channel 2. Telephone is out of order 3. Bathroom often flooded after bath 4. Carpet is just dirty, u can feel with ur feet. I never see cleaner with a vacuum when cleaning rooms that are checked out. I dont think they have vacuum 5. With the look at the carpet, its old and tho the colour is dark, i can feel that it never been shampoo before 6. Towels with stain or just greyish instead of white 7. Dressing table and console never wiped, even the extinguisher looks like it has thick dust which turns almost white 8. Curtains hanged almost half of the curtain is down 9. I noticed cleaners who cleans room has no proper cart. Bedsheets and towels are just placed on the waiting area chair at every floor. At times bedsheets just fall to floor, picked up and continue to change the room with that 10. Aircon temperature very cold and same with any temperature settings 11. Entrance has a detector that will beep when u entered but no one bothered. Not sure what is it for 12. WIFI super slow 13. I can smell diesel or machine smell at the hotel corridor 14. Lift not working, only the luggage lift

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, my children especially enjoyed the food. Service in the hotel was excellent with welcoming staff, good response times and what felt like personalised service from several staff members. We came to Luxor to see the historical sites and the location is well suited for these,. The hotel has a great view across the Nile..... our first morning we woke up to see the hot air ballons flying high above the West Bank.... beautiful.Transportation to these sites was really well organised and realistically priced, I thoroughly recommend the in hotel transportation service. A special mention goes to Clara who not only was very knowledgeable about all the trips but also went out of her way to ensure that if there were any issues with your arranged trip, she would do everything she could to resolve them satisfactorily and keep you readily informed. No negatives observed in our 4 night stay.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel, for this price you get a lot: big well appointed rooms, balcony with sunset Nile view, coffee/tea maker, fridge, safe, good airco etc. Staff are super friendly and helpful, led by the guest relations officer Gigi. Biggest plus was the new gym and spa, where professor Ashraf and his helper Mustafa give you incredible treatments for even more incredible prices. Respectful and professional, they come highly recommended!! Ok,decor a little dated but refurbishment is under way. Wifi needs an upgrade though..

Excellent hotel/hostel with a friendly owner and staff. Great rooftop social area which is key to learning from others and big value in terms of saving money and time. We booked a West Bank tour through the hotel with Aladine Solomon Tours. Aladine was the best Egyptian tour guide that we encountered. He has a great sense of humor and explained a lot of customs, agriculture, and history that went beyond a normal tour.

We paid US$373.31 for 2 rooms for 4 nights, or $46.66 per room per night.   The staff are lovely and very helpful.  There is a reasonable variety of food for breakfast which you have on the rooftop restaurant with great views over the ruins of Luxor Temple and the Nile.  Sockets are scarce, you had to unplug the fridge to use the hairdryer.    My bathroom door had a lock on the outside as it needed to be closed in order to open the door of the room.  My brother got locked in to the bathroom in his room.  After the first day I didn't allow the cleaners in any more as they changed the towels and soap, both of which were unnecessary.  Other family members had unsuitable rooms, one of which opened out in to the restaurant area on the top floor, they were moved to a better room.  Rooms are small, ideal for 1 person. The food in the restaurant in the Lane right outside the hotel is good, and the service is fast.  Do check out the Fair Trade shop beside McDonalds for fixed price items. We used Magic Carpet Tours and had an excellent 3 days of tours with them
