We recently stayed at the JW Marriott Maldives in Kaafu Atoll and overall had an amazing experience. The resort is absolutely stunning — everything is brand new, beautifully designed, and well thought-out. From the villas to the views.. That said, our stay didn’t start off as smoothly as we hoped. Our initial butler, Nour, unfortunately didn’t take good care of us. Communication was difficult, things were often missed or delayed, and we felt a bit frustrated given the level of service we expected. Thankfully, the management handled the situation professionally and quickly. They reassigned us to a new butler, Hamdhoon, and that completely turned things around. He was truly exceptional — attentive, warm, and on top of every detail. From arranging activities to checking in on us regularly, he made sure we were finally getting the 5-star service we came for. He really made up for the rocky start and was a huge part of why the rest of our trip was so enjoyable. Also want to mention Amjad from Wahoo — super friendly and welcoming every time we came by. He made us feel right at home and always had a smile on. And huge thanks to the Sri Lankan chef (didn’t catch the name!) who went out of his way to make sure everything with the food was perfect — he checked on us personally and genuinely cared that we were happy with each meal. Highly recommend — just make sure you’re assigned to someone like Hamdhoon from the start!
