The venue has no atmosphere, and the staff are aloof. I was reminded twice on my day of departure what time I had to vacate the room.The cleaner even knocked on my door at 10.20 am. to check that I was awake. I had been awake for hours. She just wanted to get in and clean my room early. I was given room 101, which was next to or close by the laundry room, which had the washing machine going constantly. There is no sun at all during the day on the balcony as it is in complete shade. My stay was only a stop gap to break my journey up and rest. This was impossible with the constant spin cycle sounding . If I had stayed any longer, I would have complained and requested to be moved. It was not a pleasant experience, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Great place, location and owners. Apartaments are renovated and well equipped. There are two pools and bar with great good. Owners are fantastic giving you very friendly welcome and keep very comfortable during whole stay. Apts are very close to old city and shops area.

I booked for 3 people, for me and my 2 children, unfortunately I got a studio for 2. The hotel website says that 🛜 wifi is free in outside areas, that's not true at all, it costs 10 euros per person for 7 days. Air conditioning Kösters costs an extra 9 euros per day. On the same day I reported that the room was definitely not for 3 and asked to be given another room that I had paid for. The staff told me it was for 3 people and they didn't have any other free rooms. She was unfriendly and unhelpful. The room had 2 beds 90x 200 and a small sofa, it wasn't a proper sofa bed, it was about 70 wide and 160 long. Very bad experience, never again in this terrible hotel.

Clean and comfortable. No frills but you get what you pay for. You have to pay for wifi 10 euros for the week... (per device). Local tax on arrival 22 euros per person. Toilet paper is provided but not replaced so you must buy from a local shop. Owners were friendly on arrival but left us in peace for our holiday. Food in restaurant is nice. Reasonable prices. Pool area nice to relax in and plenty of sunbeds

Fantastic place to stay. Very well run with very clean rooms and facilities. Faye, Georgia and the rest of the team were so friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my time and it was so well situated to be able to explore more of the local area and shops as well as getting a bus to see further afield. If you don't want to go out you don't need to as Happy Days has everything you need to be able to enjoy a relaxing break with lovely onsite bar (with a fantastic cocktail selection as well as local beers), restaurant and pool which are so well maintained. I will be going back again.

Staff rude and complain about everything you do. I got moaned at for cooking food!!! Because the hob was too hot apparently!!! Then I was told off for putting a towel on my bedroom floor to prop my door open whilst walking from the pool to my room which was literally facing the pool. All staff too busy sat round pool doing nothing. No one answer phones or anything if you try to call reception coz there’s all to busy being lazy round a pool. Staff also ever rude and moan if you are rude to them. I speak to people how they speak to me. After that shower didn’t work. Gave me some crap about solar panels causing it to not work!!! An absolute joke of a hotel. Find somewhere else because you can’t breathe in this hotel without moaning. Staff terrible. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed in two star hotels. This is below basic

I was apprehensive looking at reviews before I travelled about rules against having a good holiday. I was met at reception by Fay - one of the owner family members - and settled into my room with no bother. The apartments and surrounds are spotless and the service from pleasant staff couldn't be any better. Guests had complained in reviews about having to pay for extras when it is standard at most apartments to pay for aircon etc. Wi-fi had to be paid for extra but that wasn't a problem as I paid roaming charges on my mobile when I needed to. Noise was the biggest complaint in reviews but the apartments are so close together that it was acceptable to ask guests to keep noise to a reasonable level after 11pm. Plus the metal stairways made one hell of a noise which really carried, especially at night. There was a rule about not entering each others rooms which I didn't agree with especially the part about being charged an amount of money if you did!! Since I travelled solo I didn't have any problems with any of the rules but you should be aware that the apartments may not suit everyone. It was about a 20 minute walk to the beach which I enjoyed. All in all I could see myself visiting again. The weather btw in early October was very good.

Recently got back from a wonderful stay at Happy Days Malia. The whole family running this hotel are beautiful people. Faye, Georgia, parents, bar staff and secrurity guard made me feel so welcome and was always there to offer advice. I don't normally stay anywhere twice but I feel this is a place I will go back to. As a solo traveller I felt safe at all times. The hotel was clean and comfortable 🥰. Definitely recommend staying here. Speak to the family, get to know them and ask questions. They will help you and you will have such a lovely time in Crete. Tips take cash and use bus service 😁. Thank you to all at the hotel will miss you.

We love staying here 😎 The family who run it make you feel so welcome nothing is too much trouble. Everything is so clean the rooms are lovely .There's a pleasant Bar and pool area with sunbeds.Nice food is available. Happy Days is ideally situated to walk to other Bars and restaurants. We would highly recommend it. The owners and staff there really feel like friends. 😎
