Le Palme ★★★
"I am a big believer in you get what you pay for. If I could give stars for staff then Angela who runs the bar/cafe would get five 🌟 she is such a credit to the place and a lovely lady. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and her dinks/food was spot on! The bar area was exceptional clean also. Maria was also nice and helpful. The apartment we had was very spacious and adequately clean, ground floor so spacious terrace too. The bathroom was a big let down and needs a thorough make over as does the kitchenette area! With a little love and tlc these apartments could be so much better. The pool area was ok although the pools were very cold. The location is superb. Just to the right of the the apartments is the Street Bar and I would highly recommend this place. The food everywhere was delicious. If it’s beauty and luxury you want then please avoid booking but if you can close your eyes to a few things and want somewhere cheap to stay then this is the place. All in all we had a good weeks holiday and will definitely return to Malia (but will choose a different hotel/apartment to stay in.). We could list things that need immediate improvement but are not going to, like I said it was a cheap break, and you get what you pay for!"
Pyrgos Blue ★★★★
"Absolutely perfect stay, family hotel (small structure) on the beach located 10 minutes from the lively center of Malia, quiet, relaxing location with superb views. Very comfortable and very well equipped rooms. Very good quality all-day snack. Thanks to Héléna, Manos and their team for their friendly welcome. Very good little Cretan restaurants with superb terraces in old Malia."
Dedalos Hotel ★★★
"Nice place to stay for good price"
Newcastle Studios ★★★
"Absolutely perfect apartments pool area bar snacks spotlessly clean beds comftoble no sunbeds wars rooms have everything u need great shower/hairdryer/toaster/kettle pots and pans would recommend b&b as the breakfast menu is perfect a choice for everyone a wonderful and beautiful family run apartments and will go out of their way to make sure everything is right for your stay prices in the bar are cheap the food is freshly made and lovely great WiFi around pool and in your rooms great music around the pool for u just to chill and relax not too loud can understand why so many people return to this gem of a place in old town Malia and will be returning also don't take notice of the poor reviews they are a load of rubbish just people nit picking wanting to pay 3 star prices but wanting 5 star treatment"
Sarpidon Apartments ★★★
"Room was very nice. The site is well maintained. Good selection of food but close to many restaurants for eating out, above all the staff make it a great leisurely holiday NO KIDS during my stay. What’s not to like. Clean pool and good prices."
Hotel Matheo Villas & Suites ★★★★
"Very pleasant hotel, friendly staff at your service. Possibility of renting a car for the day to visit the Island, essential because the hotel is quite far from the center and the beach and during high heat it is very complicated to walk under 36 degrees and on the way back it goes up lol. Hotel valid for a vacation to do nothing."
Maria Rousse ★★★
"The location was perfect and our room had a beautiful view of Malia. The staff were lovely and friendly and made you feel very welcome. The food and drinks were amazing too and great value for money. I would 100% come back and stay here, I have no faults 🥰"
Theoni Apartments ★★★
"Cheap and close to the centre, but that’s about the only good thing. When we arrived, the male staff member watched us struggle up many stairs with heavy suitcases and didn’t offer to help. The room floor hadn’t been cleaned — sand everywhere and hair in the shower from the last guests. When our toilet paper ran out, we asked for more and were told to go buy our own. The listing says “air conditioning included” but it’s actually $8 a day. We didn’t pay and spent a week uncomfortably hot. My friend asked for a clean towel and was refused. One night, a male staff member wrongly accused her of not being a guest, shouted at her, and threatened to call the police, very unsettling. Beds are rock-hard, the kitchen barely has utensils for a “self-catering” place, and the food is awful aka my tomato soup was green and tasted mouldy. Female staff are extremely patronising yet were overly friendly to the teenage boys staying there, not surprising. Only stay here if you need somewhere cheap to sleep and don’t care about cleanliness or basic hospitality because the staff clearly don’t care either."
Malia Mare Hotel ★★
"Positives - The pool area is very nice, clean, with comfortable sun loungers as well as a shaded seating area. In addition, the pool bar was also very nice, pool bar food was lovely and fairly priced. Hotel location perfect, being only a few minutes walk from the main strip where all the clubs, bars and restaurants are situated. The 2 gentlemen often behind the pool bar were incredibly nice, spoke very good English and were always happy to help. The room was reasonably spaced for 3 people, beds were comfy and room comes with a balcony. Negatives - The bathroom is very poor, the shower was tiny and was not attached to the wall, this accompanied by the cheap shower curtain meant that every time someone had a shower the entire bathroom got flooded. For paying £800+ per person, it was our expectation that we could have a normal shower and not have to hold it by hand over our heads. On top of this our towels were not changed once by the maid despite her coming in a few times to make the beds and just generally tidy. The older lady who is on the reception is completely useless and unhelpful, anytime we asked anything of her she made it seem like it was hard work. Furthermore, when checking in she was blunt and unhelpful, told us our room number and didn’t even direct us leaving us to search the hotel and find the room ourselves. Nor were we offered any help with our baggage. Similarly, the lady who was often behind the pool bar was horrible, same bad attitude as the woman on reception. Completely unhelpful and always had a face like thunder, again made everything u asked seem like hard work. Very strict rules in hotel so be aware you will not be allowed to play any of your own music at poolside or bring any form of food and drink from outside the hotel. We had a few dealings with the woman mentioned previously trying to confiscate our water bottles we had bought from the shop opposing the hotel. Air con not included in room, paid 9 euros per day for air con that just blasted warm air around the room and made us all ill."

"It's okay for sleeping... don't expect more... meager breakfast, no coffee, black tea... cheese and sausage (one type each, every day) sit on cooler boxes the whole time, which aren't big enough, so you end up with almost melted cheese on your bread... I could complain about many more things, but I'll leave it at that."
Theo Star Beach Hotel
"This is my friends and mine second year staying here, and it’s great. The staff are lovely and so welcoming and are always approachable and talkative. We ate here most nights and for the price of the food it’s good, with options of Greek cuisine and more basic meals for those who aren’t adventurous. Would 100% recommend this place to friends or family who are wanting a nice break with beach access"
Parthenis Beach, Suites by the Sea
"Two nights room rate 500 euros not refunded me"
Melissa Apartments, Studios & Suites
"First time to Crete and Mellissa apartments was recommended to me. I have a fantastic holiday and mainly down to the family run apartment. Help kind and very embracing the hospitality was 5 Star. The location was perfect. I would highly recommend and definitely return."
Phāea Cretan Malia, a Member of Design Hotels
"The two-day stay was way too expensive for the hotel, knowing that there are people staying there for half the price—though for a week. However, it is a nice, large hotel where the low-rise design adds value."
Enorme Ammos Beach
"I have done several massages in my life but this one was particularly pleasant and striking. The masseuse Irini was perfect she is listening, asks me every time if everything is good. I recommend 100%"
Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"Excellent massage! My therapist Anneta was amazing. She really took her time and did a great job at releasing the tension in my body. Highly recommend."
High Beach White - Adults Only
"The "High Beach White" is an adults-only resort—a place for guests who prefer a quieter atmosphere. We had a room with a private pool. The beds and mattresses were incredibly comfortable. I've never slept so well on vacation. It was heavenly. The resort is very clean, and they make sure it stays that way. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. Sun loungers and parasols are assigned to specific room numbers. The food at the High Beach Buffet Restaurant is varied—there's something for everyone. The "Elia Restaurant" also offers à la carte dining. Brunch is served at 10:30, followed by a three-course menu or snacks from 12:00, and a five-course menu from 18:30 (table reservations required the day before). Absolutely delicious! For guests with UAI (All Inclusive) at the resort, snacks and refreshments are even delivered to their sun loungers. Absolutely fantastic! The evening program features concerts (traditional Greek music), DJs, and dance groups (traditional Cretan dances). If you're looking for relaxation with a touch of luxury, then the "High Beach White" is a must-visit in Malia. It's the place to be! We had a wonderful 14 days and lacked for nothing. A huge thank you to all the staff. Every single one contributed to making our holiday a dream come true."

They are a big family and with them you feel at home! Congratulations also to the kitchen staff, the food is very tasty and good! Yiannis Manos Hotel Resort
"Nice clean hotel with excellent friendly, welcoming Staff that are very helpful. Nice pool and bar area with plenty of sunbeds. Good food and service all round. Room was basic but had everything you would need. Room are kept clean with towels and linen changes every couple days."
Koni Village Hotel
"Just wanted to say that we had a great stay. It was 3* and it did exactly what it was supposed to. Rooms basic but cleaned daily, food had a good range of choices, probably missing something for younger ones with plain tastes like nuggets or pizza but overall very tasty! Nice pool, no fights for sunbeds, staff very friendly and helpful. It is up a hill and we were right at the top but that is made clear when you boom it. Great location, right on the bus route and a ten minute walk to Stalis"
Sentido Kyknos Beach Adults Only
"We booked this hotel for our honey moon and it has ticked every box, staff are amazing from the cleaners to the receptionist. The hotel is absolutely spotless the attention to detail is second to none, the pool is clean and very relaxing, cocktails are amazing especially made by Maria during the day or Carlos at night, breakfast there is a huge selection catering for every fussy eater, my only criticism is the evening selection is more catered for the Germans so we ended up eating out 4 of our 7 night stay unless you wanted salads then your fine. The staff are extremely friendly and really can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, bright and well equipped we had a room with a jacuzzi we stayed in room 1212 had a pool and sea view from the balcony but nice and quiet. We looked at one of the rooms with a swim up pool and these were out of this world and definitely what we will book on our return visit. This hotel should be a 5 star, one of the best we’ve ever stayed in and will definitely be returning."
High Beach Resort
"Amazing! If you want the best possible experience, I highly recommend taking the beachfront suite. It’s the perfect way to fully enjoy your vacation. The service is amazing, the food is very good, and the cocktails and drinks are excellent. A special thank you to the entire staff — everyone is so polite, friendly, and attentive. They truly take great care of you and make you feel special throughout your stay. A special mention to Didi and Maria, who gave us an amazing massage experience. My wife has never felt so relaxed! We also had the chance to dine at Veranda. Sadly, I forgot the name of our host, but we had such a lovely conversation throughout our dinner, and he took very good care of us. It really made the evening even more special. Absolutely amazing vacation! I have a feeling I’ll be coming back here again. Highly recommended! PS! Swim from the beach to the church on the little island. It’s worth the swim!"
Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort
