Le Palme
"Do not stay here unless you want your money stolen. We confronted the woman at reception only to be told that it must’ve been one of our friends who didn’t have their money stolen. They purposely don’t steal from one person so they can frame them. Just save yourself the hassle and don’t stay here."
Pyrgos Blue
"Pyrgos Blue is the most stunning and peaceful place I have ever stayed! The rooms are beautifully decorated and scrupulously clean (thank you Rona!) and well-equipped. The sea views, sunrises and sunsets from my balcony took my breath away on a daily basis. The food and drink at the Beach Bar was always delicious, freshly made and top-quality. The location was perfect for me, a 10-minute walk to supermarkets and tavernas, and a 2-minute walk to the beach. There are also some beautiful sand dunes to visit a little further away but easily walkable (Potamos beach). Finally, the warmth of the family who run it, Manos, Tula and Elena, literally blew me away - always a smile (despite it being end of season), nothing was too much trouble. I am definitely going back next year (and probably every subsequent year!!)"
Creta Verano Hotel
"From the moment we entered the hotel it took us 15 minutes to even see a member of staff. When the manager came down to check us in he was EXTREMELY rude to the point I genuinely thought he could be putting on some sort of act or joke. I was there with 5 male friends and from the get go he began immediately insulting us and when we asked what his problem is he let us know he’s more than happy to immediately kick us out and keep our money. His attitude and behaviour was abysmal and by this point all we had done was walk into the hotel and wait ages to see someone. When anyone of us would attempt to speak to him he would tell us to “shut up or leave” and this was still whilst we were attempting to check in, this is when we called him out on his attitude and his threats were made. “You don’t like my attitude? Leave, f*ck off”. An absolute immature rude man-child, we are paying customers of your sh*tty hotel, at least give us a slither of respect. We noticed he would only ever do this to male customers and witnessed him acting the same way to other groups of lads. You could practically whisper in your room and he would come up and give you a noice complaint and threaten to kick you out. He needs to be shut down, fired and banned from working in any hospitality roles, it’s a shame because the actual hotel itself wasn’t bad but was completely spoiled by his constant rude immaturity"
Golden Bay Apartments-Garden Haven
"What can we say, from arrival to depart, Akis absolutely looked after us both. From check in, to recommendations of places to visit, restaurants and even offered run us to the airport if our taxi at 3am didn't turn up! The hotel is lovely, clean, and with beautiful gardens, let photos speak for self. Location is perfect, no noise even though close to strip. Peaceful around pool. We had a lovely stay for the week, with Akis and family making us very welcome. Thank you!"
Newcastle Studios
"Unbelievable from start to finish. Not a good experience. The manager was not a nice person, the only thing that was good was the breakfast I had on one visit. After that I went somewhere else. No rapport, just awful. He had no respect for disabled people"
Notos Heights Hotel & Suites
"Hotel is based in quite and peaceful area,to town center is about 10-15min walk, to the beach 20 min .Food in there amazing taste full and price really affordable .Hotel staff helpfull in any matter. We are really happy to guest in there. Big Thank you to the hotel."
Villa Mare Monte ApartHotel
"This aparthotel is ideal for people seeking a quiet place to stay away from the busy resort of Malia. It is situated on a hillside with views of the distant sea. Our room provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the delicious home cooked 3 course evening meals and breakfast buffet. This family run hotel is in excellent condition with a lovely swimming pool and outdoor games area. The walk into Malia town takes about 20 minutes and we learnt to avoid the strenuous walk back up the hill by taking a back road with more gentle slopes. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and well looked after."
Maria Rousse
"A real gem ! Wonderful place to spend a peaceful week, so clean, basic but perfect Everyone is so helpful, great security and has a no nonsense policy so you get silence after 11 Situated close to Old Town Malia and also to the bright lights of the strip Will definitely return next year 5 Stars All the way Visit May 2026"

Neon Hotel
"When I arrived late at night I must of looked slightly disappointed… The hotel seemed very old fashioned and needed a lick of paint and a couple of upgrades. After waking up to the sound of the sea, and the beautiful smiles of the fantastic family and staff who run this friendly hotel. You are treated as one of the family… It’s a privilege to have stayed here. I have absolutely loved every day of my 18 night stay … Maria in the bar and her colleague are so funny 🤣 and have always gone out of their way to talk to me. Also Aresthea has been incredible helping me with issues nothing to do with my hotel stay … nothing is impossible for her help and assistance I am truly grateful.( probably spelled your name wrong… I apologise x ) This hotel is spotlessly clean and the pool is huge and it’s fantastic to have the gorgeous beach a few steps up from the garden! I will definitely be returning, as soon as possible! There weren’t a lot of other English tourists, however that was absolutely no problem for me!!! Thank you beautiful Neon Hotel you were amazing x x."
Aeolos Beach Resort
"Beautifull, clean, lively and lovely place right by the beach. Close to everything we were after. Customers from babies to seniors but mostly on the younger side. Great food both at the beach bar and buffet. We enjoyed our stay 100%! Everything that was said in booking site, was kept. So read the terms while making the booking, as you should always do anyways.. Well earned 3/4 stars! I would go here again! Thank you for the whole staff for making our stay memorable!"
Alexander Beach Hotel & Village Resort
"I had the great fortune to stay here for a week with my friend, who had been here 4 times prior to this . It was so beautifully laid out along the beach it had 3 pools ? Several restaurants, a spa and a gym . We were upgraded to a junior suite with such a beautiful view of the beach . The room was lovely , very spacious and very clean . The staff were all so lovely .And nothing was top much trouble. A special shout out to Socrates the barman in the pool bar , he was hilarious and great fun . The food was amazing in the Asian fusion restaurant and Maria was lovely . She remembered my friend from her previous stays and greeted her warmly. They even had a Cat Cafe where the guests could feed the local cats , which really meant a lot to me as I love cats. Everything was perfect. The only small downside was the channels on the TV..they were all in German The majority of people that stay there are German, they were all very quiet and pleasant, but it would have been nice to have a couple of English channels for when we got back to our room in the evening."
Melissa Apartments, Studios & Suites
"Such an amazing friendly family that run these apartments, George, Ingrid, Elias and Anna could not do enough for you. Not forgetting the lovely Christina on the bar during the day, her breakfast is a must. The pool is lovely and inviting with plenty of sunbeds on the terrace along with a pool table in the dining area at the rear of the bar."
Phāea Cretan Malia, a Member of Design Hotels
"The two-day stay was way too expensive for the hotel, knowing that there are people staying there for half the price—though for a week. However, it is a nice, large hotel where the low-rise design adds value."
Enorme Ammos Beach
"We had a massage here at Ammos beach spa and wow, nothing but great things to say. Mikela and Alexandra was amazing. Didn’t realize how strong their hands are."
Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only
"The complex is what really stands out at Ikaros beach hotel. It's very different from your average hotel layout. It's spacious and beautiful, located right by the sea. A 10 star in that aspect. As we drove in the entrance all the people on the transfer bus were commenting on how good the hotel looked. We had a garden view twin room, which was well equipped, with a safe, aircon, robes, slippers, hairdryer, a fridge, coffee machine... and bathroom scales! The bathroom was modern, with a powerful shower. It was cleaned everyday. We had a lovely big patio area, where we could see the sea in the distance. I found the cocktails were of a high standard, not weak like most all inclusive hotels. Premium spirits were definitely being used! All the staff work incredibly hard and are friendly. I will be honest the food in the buffet restaurant wasn't mind blowing for a 5 star, most dishes were quite bland - but hey that's just my opinion, and in comparison to other 5 star hotels, I have had much better. However, you get to use the Italian, Asian and Greek restaurant for 1 night each, which definitely breaks it up. I'd recommend bringing a jacket as the restaurants are outside (in early season, maybe not mid summer), and get them booked up fairly soon at guest relations. Evening entertainment varied each evening from musicians to singers. There are 2 pool areas, the main one has a bar, a seating area and bean bags along with plenty of sunbeds. There's also a beach area with lots of sunbeds available. The gym and spa is a fantastic facility, the best hotel gym I've experienced, with many fitness classes available. Location wise, the complex is about a 15 minute walk into Malia, take a left outside the hotel, we found the beautiful old town part, which has an amazing restaurant 'Avli', which I highly recommend if you like to eat out on holiday - you can book online, we went twice, it's so reasonably priced! There are many bars and restaurants along the roadside, although it is quite derelict along that route in places. However, if you take a right outside the hotel and enjoy a stroll there are many restaurants, bars and shops there too which leads to Stalida (this is a much nicer area)"
High Beach White - Adults Only
"What a beautiful resort and what a nice people. Especially Didi she is very friendly always joyful. She represent a very nice wellness. Also the staff in the wellness is very professional. Besides the resort is fantastic, they make it complete."
Malia Mare Hotel
"We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we did not feel particularly welcome. The staff were generally unfriendly and made us feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests. Unfortunately, things only got worse throughout our stay. Upon check-in, we intended to pay by card, however we were asked if we could pay in cash instead. We had no issue with this and explained that we would withdraw the money and bring it to reception the following day. The next morning, we had the cash ready and were counting it in our room before bringing it down to reception. At that point, the cleaner arrived. We placed the cash on a table and stepped out onto the balcony to allow her to clean comfortably. We trusted that she would simply carry out her work and did not feel the need to supervise her. When we came back into the room, approximately ten minutes after counting the money, €50 was missing. We immediately noticed because we had literally just counted the cash. We went to reception and politely explained the situation. We were very careful with how we approached it and specifically stated that we did not want to accuse anyone of anything. We simply felt that the situation should be made known. Unfortunately, the response we received was incredibly disappointing. The lady at reception was hostile from the start and made us feel as though she believed we were making the story up. She relayed the situation to a man, who I presume was the owner or manager, who told us that this had “never happened” in over 20 years. However, after looking through reviews, we found multiple comments from previous guests over the years raising concerns about money or belongings going missing after visits from cleaners. The man told us he would look into the matter and asked us not to pay the accommodation balance just yet until he had spoken to us again. We appreciated this and expected some sort of follow-up. However, we never heard anything further. Later that evening, another woman approached us in an extremely hostile manner demanding payment. We explained that we had absolutely no issue paying and had intended to pay from the first day. In fact, we had only withdrawn cash to accommodate the hotel’s request. We also explained that we had been told someone would get back to us regarding the missing money and nobody ever had. What made the situation even more frustrating was that this woman informed us that the other staff member had said we were in the room while the cleaner was there, implying that our concerns could not possibly be valid. This was simply untrue. We were not in the room; we had stepped out onto the balcony specifically to allow the cleaner to do her job comfortably. It became apparent that staff had already discussed the situation amongst themselves and come to their own conclusion that we were lying, yet nobody ever communicated this to us directly or gave us the opportunity to properly "
Happy Days
"Great atmosphere, friendliest hosts you could meet. Been twice, once with family and once as a couple, cant wait to go back."
Theo Star Beach Hotel
"Me and 7 other of my friends have just got back from here and we will be back. The staff were inviting and attentive from our arrival, we do have to give a special thank you to our waitress and the cleaners. The facilities the hotel had to offer was amazing and what was even better is that it’s situated on the beach so we were able to make full use of this, and what made it better was the sun beds were included. The rooms were more modern than other hotels you’d usually find abroad and comfortably fit 4 to a room."
Casa Malena
"amazing hotel!!! right by the beach, everyone there was lovely, welcoming and so friendly! the hotel really made our stay! the atmosphere was warm and lovely! the rooms were large and very clean had everything we needed. excellent value for money!!! we would return to Malia just to stay at the hotel again!"
Koni Village Hotel
"First of all, please note that the hotel is located on a hill, so keep that in mind before booking. It is also a 3-star hotel, which should be taken into consideration when evaluating the overall experience. We stayed there for 10 days and had a pleasant stay. The hotel staff were friendly, the area was clean, and the swimming pool was nice as well. The food was somewhat repetitive, but it was tasty. What surprised me positively was the variety of meat options available, including rabbit, duck, and lamb, which was a nice change from the usual selection. On the other hand, I missed having more fresh fruit. Watermelon, grapes, or different types of melon were not available. In the mornings, only grapefruit was served, and later in the day there were mainly apples, pears, and oranges. The snack selection was rather limited, consisting mostly of pastries, which was a bit disappointing for us. Room cleaning was generally okay. However, we once had a shortage of toilet paper because none was provided for two days, and we had to ask for some at the reception. We also occasionally noticed small leftovers on the floor after cleaning. The overall atmosphere was pleasant. However, I believe the restaurant manager was sometimes a bit too loud and overly familiar for my taste. One thing I did not appreciate was the way he occasionally addressed some of the female staff members when there seemed to be an issue. Such conversations should ideally take place privately and away from guests. If there is a problem, it would be more professional to discuss it quietly in a separate area rather than in front of customers. Apart from that, the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Overall, though, it was a good stay for the price we paid, and we were satisfied with the value for money."
Sentido Kyknos Beach Adults Only
"Our stay has been lovely, especially as the staff have been so amazing! We had a full body massage yesterday with Sofia and the spa team, we left feeling so relaxed our 50 minutes flew by."
High Beach Resort
"I was spending a bit more than a week together with my family at the resort. One of our highlights were the massages by Pavlos in the High Beach Spa. We went there every second day and left feeling relaxed and light as a feather!"
Philoxenia Hotel & Spa
"the hotel is close to the beach (5 minutes on foot)! the rooms are small but comfortable, the equipment is quite worn out, but they came and fixed the lamp hanging from the wall for the first time, the staff is very nice. cleaning, towel change ok, it's quite noisy at night, so if you're not a party person, choose a hotel further away because it's next to the party street, the breakfast is the same every day :)"
