Danelis Studios & Apartments

My daughter and I have just returned from our stay at Danelis. This is a fantastic small family run hotel and I can't praise it enough. Everyone is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the communal areas are well kept. The owners have a smile and chat for everyone from the day you arrive to the day you leave. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely book to stay here again if we return to Crete.

A family run set of apartments, in a very central location for exploring the east of the North coast. Nikos and Makis were always cheerful and the food mama made was delicious and served quickly. There were lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The pool area is lovely and we enjoyed the pool table and lovely cocktails( expect UK prices though) A few less welcome things though - the music played by the pool was loud and continued all day so our ‘quiet’ holiday - we chose this place because that’s how it was described online - was anything but and we chose to stay out all day rather than sit and listen to it. I don’t mind a bit of music near the bar maybe or where people were eating but personally prefer my time sunbathing to be quiet and peaceful. Self catering facilities were basic - two small rings and a fridge that had seen better days but I guess that’s the three stars. We were told the room would be cleaned each day. It isn’t - not a massive problem to us but might be for some. The bins were emptied twice and we got new towels once though I suspect you could have asked for more. You pay extra for safe, TV and aircon or heating and the balcony is in the shade - this might be a bonus in summer. Overall - basic room but nice pool area which would have been lovely if quiet.

Been here 7 days ,beautiful peaceful hotel ,This is family run (wow) the minute you arrive you are made so welcome .We have had a few cloudy days but the brothers keep you upbeat with their smiles .Rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. Food is freshly made and fabulous 👌

This hotel gives the warmest welcome. The pool is amazing, with the addition of the poolside bar. Staffed by the friendliest people I've met here. This is the third time I've been to Crete and value this establishment highly. I always look forward to landing and making this one of our first stops.

Absolutely fantastic. First trip this year was April for Orthadox easter all I can say is WOW what a spectacular event and very moving. Well looked after by Makis, Nikos and the whole Danelis family liked it so much we had another 2 week stay with them in June. The apartments are exactly what you need, clean, tidy and very welcoming. The food is great ranging from snacks to more traditional food all very reasonably priced. The pool is very good Makis takes pride in making sure the the water quality is first class. A nice location in a nice quiet area 200 metres from the old town of Malia with many top class restaurants, far to many to list. we had dinner in several and never had a bad experience, always well looked after. Again booked another 2 week stay September from which we have just returned from and whilst there booked again for next year direct with Makis. I cannot recommend Danelis apartments high enough well done Makis and family you always go above and beyond.

I have just visited the Danelis hotel for the first time with friends. The owners Nikos and Makis could not have done enough for us during our stay and made the best cocktails ever! We felt incredibly safe in this hotel thanks to the night watchman George who was very friendly! The hotel rooms are basic but incredibly clean and had everything we required for our stay! The music at the pool catered to every guest and really added to the feel good vibe of this hotel. Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Malia (young or old). NO STRESS
