Exploreans Beach Club & Villas Watamu
"The hotel is fantastic!!! We absolutely loved it! We initially booked for one day, but then decided to extend it for another day. It's best to buy an all-inclusive package, as the hotel is located far from amenities. But if you're traveling with a group or on your honeymoon, this is perfect. The staff is polite and friendly, the food is delicious, the amenities are excellent, and of course, the price is great. The only thing I might not like is the hot water. It's warm, perfect for showering during the day, but cool in the evening."
Sawa Sawa Beach Hotel & Backpackers
"Male owner 1am banging on the door I sleep, screaming my name. Ranting about me I think I am big cause I have lots of money, saying he is my boss. Pushing an alarm to call police. I said I happily go, only repay remaining day that is not used. He said it was paid, I say not, show me. He could not, and walk away in shame. I then ask the guard, what was the problem with this man,. I was told he was angry for me turning off a lamp (cause I enjoy sleeping in darkness). Himself had said some days before, cause lights were kept on in one room and I wanted to change room cause of this, that "after tonight no lamps will be turned on, no need to change room". Anyway handling a simple matter as this 1am kicking me out night time, I think relates to deeper issues concerning running the establishment and his frustrations of so. Revenge belongs to God. For me, someone disturbing me sleeping, is sacred as if being disturbed doing prayers, unless a life threatening situation, they have no respect for life."
Q Boutique Resort Malindi
"If you are looking for the ultimate luxury getaway in Kenya, Q Boutique Resort Malindi is an absolute dream come true. We recently stayed here as a family, and it exceeded every single one of our expectations. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were greeted with world-class hospitality and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made both adults and children feel right at home. It truly redefines boutique hospitality on the Swahili coast. The hotel itself is architectural perfection, seamlessly blending high-end luxury with beautiful coastal design. What truly takes your breath away is the lush, vibrant greenery surrounding the entire property. It feels like a hidden, manicured oasis where exotic plants and tropical gardens offer both privacy and a deep sense of serenity. It was the perfect, safe environment for the family to relax and enjoy nature. The centerpiece of the resort is undoubtedly the magnificent, crystal-clear swimming pool. It quickly became our family’s favorite spot. Whether the kids were splashing around or we were unwinding with a tropical cocktail under the Kenyan sun, the pool area offered a truly five-star experience. Our family suite was exceptionally spacious, impeccably clean, and designed with amazing attention to detail, offering stunning views of the gardens. Every element, from the delicious, kid-friendly options at the restaurant to the attentive staff who went above and beyond for our family, reflects top-tier luxury. If you want to experience the magic of Malindi with your loved ones while indulging in absolute comfort, Q Boutique Resort is unmatched. We cannot recommend it highly enough for a family vacation!"

"The resort is lovely with spacious rooms, very basic but with a African decor that makes you feel you are in the right place. The restaurant has to be improved because many of the items on the menu aren’t available. Nice pool and ok breakfast, beautiful place."

Kilili Baharini Resort & Spa
"Be cautious when visiting Kilili Baharini Hotel. During my recent visit, the owner behaved in an inappropriate and disrespectful manner toward my Black girlfriend, repeatedly asking staff to get her phone number. His actions were intrusive and offensive. It was disappointing to witness such behavior, which came across as discriminatory and unprofessional. I share this to caution others and encourage the management to uphold higher standards of respect and integrity."
Lions' Luxury Eco Resort & Spa
Billionaire Beach Front Apartments
"My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at one of the villas. The staff were fantastic, especially our concierge, Gloria -- their hospitality and good nature made the stay that much better. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Malindi."
Ocean Beach Resort & Spa
"We spent 5 nights at Ocean Beach Resort and didn't want to leave! We had the most fantastic weather, although there were times when it was alarmingly hot, which meant we spent most of our midday time at the swimming pool relaxing on the extra-large and comfortable sun loungers under large shade umbrellas. The pool area is designed in such a way that it is easy to connect with other guests and families, which was a highlight for us. The hotel team deserve a very special mention: whether it was a casual lunch at the pool or the special occasion buffet dinner on New Year's Eve, there was an enormous effort made to move tables and chairs around to create different and exciting settings, all beautifully decorated. Our children just loved the huge and crystal clear pool. The pool attendants were very friendly and helpful and interacted well with all the children, providing inflatable tubes for playing on. The food was also very nicely presented and tasty, especially the buffet dinners. Some amazing and unique decorations such as a vase of 'flowers' made out of intricately carved potatoes and food colouring caught our eye. My husband is in a wheelchair and our room was very conveniently located a short distance from the main hotel buildings. The paths around and about are all wheelchair suitable and in fact the grounds in their entirety are pretty flat. All the main areas are very accessible. There was a step into the shower (which had grab rails); however, the hotel did provide a movable wooden ramp, but it was difficult to use it without assistance. Thankfully air-con in the rooms provided a welcome respite from the early January heat. The beach is expansive and quite beautiful, however it is a walk away from the hotel grounds, and there are noticeable currents pulling this way and that. We ventured out to the beach most late afternoons, which is when most others did the same. Lovely to see families, locals and tourists alike, enjoying the outdoors. I had a massage treatment at the in-house spa which was excellent. The spa room itself felt like a sanctuary. Make time for a swim in the spa pool afterwards. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely choose to stay here again. A lovely, casual and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to all for the great service and the memorable stay!"
The Kasa Malindi - 'Formerly Leopard Point Beach Resort'
"We had a wonderful family vacation at Kasa Malindi Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect retreat after busy days of exploring. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options that everyone in the family enjoyed. The hotel’s environment is serene and beautifully landscaped, creating a relaxing atmosphere for both adults and kids. Service throughout our stay was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. We truly felt cared for and appreciated as guests. Kasa Malindi Hotel is an ideal choice for families looking for a comfortable, fun, and relaxing vacation. We can’t wait to return!"
