I booked my stay through iEscape & can only assume that it has been a while since anyone from iEscape has stayed there. Whilst the the overall feel is generally clean it really is long overdue an overhaul and feels far, far from representing value for money. Indeed, I actually feel like I have paid way over the odds and very disappointed. I swapped several emails with the co-owner,Ursula, prior to booking in order for her to confirm that the rooms had wi-fi for work reasons. Not only is it advertised on the website that this is the case, Ursula confirmed it. This is simply not the case……………..the short range wi-fi ‘box’ is in one of the communal courtyards. I did email Ursula during our stay to question this and admittedly she arranged for one of the staff to bring the wi-fi box up to our room. We didn’t take up this offer as it felt selfish and not fair on the other guests. Secondly I emailed Ursula prior to out visit to ask if toiletries were available or did I need to bring any, she didn’t respond. The selection in the bathroom was at best, minimal and of a poor quality. The bed linen, pillows, duvets etc etc have all seen better days and not of a standard one would expect when staying anywhere advertised at a certain level, again the quality was certainly not reflected in the price ……………. It is also featured on the website that part of the ‘deal’ was that a 50 minute massage/body treatment was included, indeed I questioned iEscape about this prior to the trip. I was advised that this was the case and to arrange with Riad Enija upon arrival. Seemingly this is not the case, per Ursula, and is no longer applicable……….this appears to be the case for the ‘4 nights for 3’ offer which is hugely confusing. The saving grace of this place is a gentleman called Ahmed, I can only assume that he is the Riad manager. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
