There are many types of breakfast, and the taste is quite satisfactory. It is not particularly prominent. Extra bed, INR 1300, plus a set of toiletries for the extra bed. The environment is particularly good, located on the edge of the lake, the scenery is very beautiful, especially when you enter the hotel door, it is the best resort hotel. The room is a separate cabin, the bathroom is very large, it feels very good, it can be said that it is the best hotel for family and children. The staff is very friendly and there is no discrimination against the Chinese. The hotel is dominated by Western tourists and there are relatively few Chinese tourists. The only regret is that the buffet at the dinner did not provide drinks, and even the mineral water had to be bought separately. It was not kind.

Hunas Falls provides an astonishing setting of sprawling gardens with walkways, flowers and a lake with a bridge to cross it, a waterfall, upper waterfall and a mini golf course all constitute a most beautiful background. Happy to meet a long time friend Mr. Ranil Delgoda, who is maintaining the property in a prime condition. Very spacious room and the balcony with all the amenities, beautiful garden in the front, the valley mountains of in the background, lake and the forest onto the right, tea plantation plantation in the left. Just behind the room was the ten foot deep swimming pool, right behind the pool it's the Hunasgiriya mountain covered with mist and the road leading towards it. Restaurant overlooking the lake with a beautiful view, and the food is excellent. Something remarkable is the human touch, very friendly and courteous staff, starting from the front office Mr. Tuan, Ms. Nilmini, Ms. Sathsara, Ms. Himasha, Mr. Raja and Mr. Gunawardhanana, this is in addition to AGM & Head Naturalist Mr. Buwaneka Pathirana. The Elephant Stables was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! The hotel is nestled in the hills above Kandy city, making it very peaceful and relaxing, but within a short distance to all the cities attractions. The view from the garden and infinity pool is spectacular, and we wish we had had more time to enjoy the property. The staff is what makes this place so amazing - they are so friendly and attentive, with the food being the best we’ve had in all Sri Lanka. Don’t skip out on the dinner menu and ensure you have time to enjoy their delicious breakfast. We can’t wait to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kandy.

The room was clean and comfortable. Sitting in the lobby and around the swimming pool is very comfortable, you can be in a daze all day long! The surrounding environment is very good. There is a lake next to the hotel and a small hill opposite. Wake up in the morning and listen to the birds singing, by the way, there are many crows here😄

Colonial style hotel that offers very traditional rooms in a lovely setting. Pool, rooms, common areas, grounds etc all excellent. Exactly what we feel most comfortable with. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a slightly larger room with separate seating area on the upper floor which was a lovely gesture. Service excellent. The allocated butler was very friendly, professional and was very accommodating. I saw other reviews commenting on the food menu and cost. Lovely lunch menu. Very tasty with good portion size. Dinner menu had two starter options and three main to choose from. We had no issue in selecting and found the quality to be truly excellent. Very high standard. I saw other reviewers commenting on the price of food and drink. I agree it is high but should not come as a surprise given the cost of the rooms. If you are prepared to pay the room rate for this unique offering then you need to come ready to spend on the food and drink. Take on the whole experience, that is what holidays are for. One area for improvement which is very minor. The pool is amazing but needs a little love. Walls need a clean. The algae does come off, I tried. Also get the infinity working!! The pool is an asset so milk it.

This hotel is quite difficult to review because in most soft product aspects it is absolutely excellent but the hard product (room) and the pricing of alcoholic drinks really let it down and make it seem poor value for money when compared to other high end properties we stayed at. For example the Anantara Peace Haven, which many reviewers feel has high prices for food and drinks, charges about half as much for cocktails and other alcoholic drinks and we found the prices there very fair compared to Kings Pavilion. We arrived to a really lovely welcome with a cold towel and welcome drink. We were promptly shown to our room and enjoyed the welcome amenities including chocolates. When we wanted to go to Kandy the staff quickly organised a very good and inexpensive tuk tuk driver for us and reminded us of the requirement for covering up at the Temple of the Tooth which was very kind and welcome information. The turndown service was also excellent. We received more chocolates and beautiful towel art decorated our beds which was a lovely surprise. When we went to dinner, again staff were very engaging and kind. However, being on half board meant having a very limited menu to choose from. Drinks other than Fanta or Coke were outrageously priced for Sri Lanka. In nearly 3 weeks travelling through Sri Lanka staying at high end hotels all along, prices here were by far the highest. Needless to say we stuck to soft drinks. Although the food was good, I would advise against taking the half board option, as you are stuck with a limited choice and very high drinks prices. By leaving it open where you have dinner you could still choose to eat here and have the full menu to select from. Breakfast was very good and we were offered a second helping of any fruit or breakfast items that we particularly liked - this again was great service. Our room was a suite and located in a separate building behind the main structure. The bathroom was huge and very well appointed, but the room itself was a bit of a let down. While large in size, the pieces of furniture did not seem high quality and were mismatched. The room itself reminded me of a motel room somehow, the decor seemed poorly finished and the door seemed old and had a huge gap at the bottom which allowed a large caterpillar to gain access during the night. All in all the least impressive room we had during our trip and the only hotel were I felt that bugs could easily get into the room. The staircase that leads up to this annex was overgrown with plants. While I largely avoided getting bitten by mosquitos in Sri Lanka, I did get a few bites here. The patio area outside our room did not look inviting either, it wasn't paved but you walked out onto soil and a small amount of grass, there was no view to speak of. It is possible that other rooms offer a better standard as they seem to be of individual character and some seemed to be looking out over Kandy. However, the greedy drinks prices alone w

Rraincoat22Surprise, recommended. It has its own lake and a huge lawn. When you wake up in the morning, the lakeside is filled with mist, and the sun shines through the big trees into the restaurant. It feels so comfortable. The breakfast is also very rich, recommended.
GGuest UserWe really enjoyed this establishment and were able to enjoy our last moments in Sri Lanka until the end thanks to a late check-out :)
All the staff are attentive, accommodating and efficient!
The buffet is varied and suitable for several types of palates.
The rooms are large, clean and well equipped.
The BIG plus of this hotel is the magnificent swimming pool which is at an ideal temperature!
AArabinOne of the best hotels I lived in Sri Lanka, running by a local family. They are very nice and hospitable and even provided very delicious local breakfast with wild honey and welcome coconut water. The room was a quite big with high ceiling, clean and all the stuffs were available. The hotel is in the closest location to climb the rock mountain called Pidurangala to view panorama view of Sigiri and sunrise and sunset and very close to Sigiri Lion Rock as well. The hotel can provide car and jeep services. Jeep safari to see a herd and other wild animals were quite an experience to feel the wilderness and nature. This hotel is 100% recommended when you are in Sigiriya.
If you need a car service for city to city travel, here is the service provider, called Danu and his contact number is (0774) 642 805. He is a nice and humble guy with certified local guide. We got his service from Sigiriya to Kandy to Yalla to Colombo, the trip went very smooth and we are happy that we covered all the attractions places with his assistance. Highly recommended!!
GGuest UserThis was the second time I visited Heritance Kandalama and it was better than the last stay especially I would like to mention the Guest Relations Executive Miss. Yoshina for taking care of our family and fulfilling all our needs with all the needed information with her efficient style and making the stay comfortable also big shoutout to the chefs food was beyond amazing and the restaurant staff was very active as well and also the suite was amazing with all the amenities that should be there in a room overall a 10/10 experience and a must visit place in Sri Lanka ♥️
GGuest UserWhat could be better for the welcome, the location, the comfort, the cleanliness, the availability, the calm and I forget some. Close to the main road and next to the Lion Rock, this family guest house is everything we were looking for. The mother cooks divinely well, and she is very available, the father takes care of his beautiful garden, and Prabash the son is adorable, he offers excursions and transport either by tuk-tuk or by car. He even picked us up at the airport 3 hours away. The prices are very reasonable. He took us to Polonaruwa, Dambula and Anuradhapura. The lion rock is very close as well as bars and restaurants and shops 10 minutes walk away. We stayed 4 nights. The price / quality ratio is exceptional.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located around 10 minutes from the famous Sigiriya citadel. The hotel’s pool and the main lobby area including the bar overlook the sigiriya citadel (Sigiriya rock), making it one of the best views of the famous rock. Further the hotel is surrounded by lush greenery. Hotel staff are professional and also “extremely” friendly. They are a “true example of island’s hospitality”. The pool and the bar area are the best places to relax. Room service, laundry service and reception were really responsive and always available. Hotel rooms are of single category but some rooms need more attention in maintaining, especially the room that was given (Room 41). The room looked kind of rundown. Yet, house keeping was commendable. Same time, food menu, and the restaurant should be improved as breakfast was almost same every morning, “french toast” was not really “french toast” at all and there was no refilling of certain food items (especially cut fruits) for late risers.
GGuest UserThis is a great location for families to spend some quality time. The atmosphere, the greenery, the surroundings was fabulous with lovely peacocks roaming the grounds gives you sense of nature. The massive pool gets the children in there for a few hours with beautiful landscape. The rooms are like villas and great space and comforting rooms. Had a good range of food buffet at dinner and breakfast with European & Sri Lankan food choices. Overall the family had a lovely stay. The staff and the management were very friendly and took care of all our needs.
PPillaiMAGICAL!! it's a pity that we had just 1 night to spend in this resort.... it's a place to detox, disconnect, seek within and go on a soul searching journey to connect within yourself! The entire energy of this place is pure!
From the way we were greeted with the temple flowers as we were walked down to our little cottage to the natural fragrance in the room with the fresh flowers decorated in all corners of the room, the bed and the washroom.... everything was charming.
Wifi was only in the lounge area/common...so you could not stay cooped up in your place all day...n if you happen to go in Jan/Feb, that's just great coz it will get a little pleasantly chilly at late evenings ...n just breathing in that fresh clean air was amazing!
The buffet spread includes live cooking counter and is quite varied...not exceptionally varied for vegetarians but overall a good spread.
I would love to go back n just be there a few days n slack in the beauty in that still and clear clean quiet.
There is also an ayurvedic centre within the premises for those interested.... I would suggest, it's worth a try and the prices are pretty good too.
GGuest UserWe really loved staying here as it was so close to what we wanted to do in Sigiriya and was surrounded by nature. There are so many nice restaurants within walking distance. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and hospitable and made our stay even more enjoyable. The housekeeper/chef prepared a wonderful breakfast for us in the morning and always had a smile on his face.
MMr.HappyThis is the best and best hotel to stay in during your stay in Lanka! The entire hotel is in a mango garden, the environment is very beautiful! The hotel is also very clean and the service is in place. The breakfast was very good and the place to eat was great! Overlooking the pool and a large green area, it is simply a beautiful experience. The environment is fragrant, and there are nights at night. The security is also very good. Especially on the second day because of the urgency, my lover put some valuables in the room, our bags are already on the way to Nuvo, and it has been open for 20 minutes. After suddenly thinking about the amount, the DILI driver was very enthusiastic to help the hotel call, the other party sent someone to say that they were still in the room, and then rushed back to the hotel to take it, which was a sigh of relief. Thank you for the hotel! In addition, this hotel room is to be locked with a key, not directly locked to the door, this should be noted. After we checked in, I went to Lion Rock after cleaning up. When my lover locked the door, I brought it directly to the door. When I came back, I opened the door with a single push. Fortunately, nothing was lost. This shows that this hotel is really ok. Of course, if you have to live in this hotel, you still have to keep your belongings safe. There is a safe in the room.
