Excellent quiet location on the outskirts of Matlock Bath. Plenty of parking. Beautiful views of the cliffs. 10 minutes walk from all the attractions. Room was modern but had character, tea and coffee in room, smart tv and plenty of hot water for the power shower.

Really nice location, but the rooms let it down. Although they are lovely rooms, they need a proper clean. The shower was dirty so we didn't use it. Also urine around the toilet seat hinges. We had no remote to use the TV, so told reception and it took ages to get one and the batteries were dead. Big clock om wall with no working batteries. All this said Kamal on reception was great and a good laugh.

Location was good but that's all The hotel was closed until 2.30pm for check in not a good welcome The place needed painting it looked tired The room was dirty. Carpet had dead insects on it. The drinking glasses dirty, kettle had some glue on it The bathroom was modern but dirty the plug in shower was disgusting Cobwebs inside room Windows full of spiders dirt and other stuff No heating although reception made a show of pretending to switch it on from reception!! I formed reception who said thank you for telling us if you don't tell us then we will not know Erm you are supposed to check I am paying guest Headboard thick with dust Got woken up at 5am but reception talking loudly on phone to relatives back in India Not enough parking spaces staff took them all Do not stay here

Fantastic stay! We had a great time with a very warm welcome, beautiful room (we booked the honeymoon suite and it had the biggest bath ever), and lovely staff. The breakfast room is really pretty and at the weekends you can select from hot options as well as the continental selection - there were plenty of vegetarian options, including pancakes. We hadn't pre-booked breakfast as previous reviews hadn't been kind, but we're glad we gave it a go and can confirm it was very tasty! There was an occasional rumble noise in the room - possibly another room's extractor fan - so if you're a light sleeper maybe take ear plugs. Overall it was quiet though and positives more than made up for the slight disturbance; we'll definitely be going back.

The staff are non existent and ignorant, they lack personality and any customer facing skills. The room had no heating, no chair but seemed clean. The cooked breakfast had to be ordered the day before at a cost of £12.99 per person. It had a low quality sausage and was greasy. The location is lovely and has plenty of other places to stay. I would advise people to stay somewhere else. I also think the previous negative reviews are correct.

Horrible experience couldn’t sleep at all they have an extractor fan or water pump in the bathroom that’s on all day and night making incredible noise. Breakfast is a joke and the duvet is probably since the hotel was build. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

Ignorant staff and poor quality. All about the £££. Far better places to stay in the area where you will be looked after Early check in has a fee not advertised and breakfast is from 8 am but you have to book the day before for hot food but not told this so all you get is toast, pastry or cereal. Not the full continental they advertise

One is greeted by a notice on the door that the hotel is closed until 3 p.m. If you arrive early you are advised to go down to the town where there are plenty of things to do. Reception was manned by a non-native English person who was not easy to understand. Our room (Number 2) had a double and a single bed with a separate shower (no bathtub) and toilet. The room itself was barely furnished: in addition to the beds were two unstable plastic bedside tables, no chairs, no table/desk, no drawers for clothes storage. Out unpacking was interupted by the receptioist bearing a menu as it was necessary to pre-order food if one wanted to eat in. The bar was manned by the aforesaid receptionist. Not to our surprise now he was also the waiter in the dining room. As usual in this type of hotel the hot water was barely tepid. Continental breakfast could be had at an extra charge of £10 per person. We were happy now to have breakfast in town. NO PETS ALLOWED
