Matsushima Century Hotel Reviews

We came here for the local onsen experience, the location is great and it’s just opposite to scenery spots, saving us time and commuting cost. The staff and service is very professional and attentive. The double bed room is spacious, onsen clothes and towels are served. Since the shops and visiting area at Matsushima close as early as 4pm (maybe only in winter?), there’s not much action after that. This hotel experience fill up the time we spend at Matsushima, there’s a little restaurant inside the hotel for people to enjoy food after the onsen. You can also choose to go to family mart which is just 5 minutes walk away, and get whatever food you want.

The hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Matshushima Shoreline.  It’s very close to the Fukuurabashi Bridge.  All the major attractions in Matshushima Shoreline are within walking distance.  Rooms are spacious and clean.  Meals were good. You can order as many grilled ox tongue and shrimp tempura as you like in addition to what were already included in the dinner set.  Staff are nice and helpful.  

Amazing views of the bay from my room. It makes waking up every morning an almost religious experience. If you’re staying here and can afford it, pay the extra to face the bay. You won’t regret it. The bath are also has bay views and is one of the best I’ve experienced in Japan.

The hotel is 8 minutes walk away from the nearest train station, but close to the main tourist attractions. The room I stayed in was small but clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious.

The location is very good, close to the train station and the parks ( Fukuura Island and others). The hotel is a little old-fashioned but clean, the breakfast is very good. The front desk person is very professional and polite.

The staff of the hotel was very nice and kind from the very start of the booking process, so informative when I asked about room type and the condition that I was looking for. I spend time there for 2 days 1 night with 1 room and 2 meals to celebrate my birthday with my sister. The hotel even passed the information to the restaurant staff and they were kind enough to sing the happy birthday song for me and also gave me a birthday gift. The room was cleaned well and has all the amenities you might need. The private bath was very good too.

Great service. The receptionist tried to help me out with public transport in a northern more remote area . Bed and pillows are very comfortable. I didn't try to food even it's available as half board

It was great that it was close to the station and also close to the main attractions. The food was delicious. I was very satisfied with being able to eat plenty of oysters and beef tongue.

The hotel feels like a product of the bubble economy of the 1980s and 90s; it was probably considered very luxurious back then, but the facilities look a bit dated now. However, the location is excellent, the exterior is unique, the view of Matsushima from the windows is beautiful, it's very quiet, and the hot spring is very relaxing.

The view was amazing and I was very satisfied! It's also close to sightseeing spots like the sightseeing boats, so I highly recommend it. I'd definitely like to go again if I have the chance!

Dinner was delicious. Because it was busy, it took too long for the beef tongue to be served after ordering, so I didn't get to eat much. There were many mistakes in the number of tempura items I ordered. Those two things were disappointing!
