"Firstly, I'll be honest. I am holding a grudge against the Management and Bar staff, ONLY for this review. The hotel itself, is actually quite pleasant. It's clean, modern, located in a prime area of Mayrhofen and is a popular destination for locals, tourists and travellers. I could not find any fault with the rooms. The beds were comfy, really big tv, and an Absolutely fantastic shower, which were all cleaned daily. Great service from the cleaners and we were happy to leave a room tip. However, disaster on arrival. We were NOT presented with a nice welcome, or much in any other way of a greeting by Mike the Manager/owner, local black cloud. We were barked at to SIGN!! The arrival sheet. And I do mean barked at along with furious pointing of a slip of paper, all written in German (I like to have a go at languages, but I'm no expert) so we struggled a little, which seemed to annoy Mike further. Once we had overcome that issue, we were pointed in the general direction of the rooms and basically dismissed! Wow. This was the start of a frosty week with Mike, who must of took an instant dislike to our group, as he did not warm up a single degree, all the week we were there. Always harsh, always frowning. People skills seemed to have ran around Mike like dodging Covid! This is a bit unusual in the main point of contact we have for the hotel we are staying in?. But the main cause for unpleasantness, was a Mid-week theft of personal belongings. The staff seemed to have forgotten we were guests that week, (probably because we avoided the bar area a lot, due to Miserable Mike). So one evening when we did venture in for a few drinks, I happend to leave my coat, drapped over the chair next to me. My friend and brother were seated opposite, so when I took a call and left the bar, I knew things were ok. However the sneaky Barstaff girl (Irish accent, did not catch her name) managed to slip the coat and, later said that she had passed it to another group of lads, also Irish (hence she remembered them?) as she said she thought it was theirs. This story developed holes, when we were later questioning the location of the coat and lads. She assured us that she knew the lads and would get the coat back. But strangely, we saw no group of these lads, entering the hotel from our first floor balcony all night, and as if by magic, at 1 minute past her finish time, 00:01am, my coat found its way to hang on my door, and the barstaff girl doing a runner as fast as she could away, down the stairs and out the door. Could it be that my coat was hiding in the back all night, just waiting to reappear? Funny how, when we were promissed the cctv the night before, this was now refused by Mike, as the property was returned?! Strangely the barstaff girl did not linger in my pressence or even look at me for the last 2 days of our stay there... "My husband and I visited this hotel in 2018 when (as I recall) it was officially five-star. We left with mixed feelings, and he wasn’t keen to return. So I came alone this year, and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. My sense is that the hotel now knows exactly what it is and has relaxed into catering for its clientele. I come to Mayrhofen to hike all day every day, so the three most important qualities in a hotel are food, sleep quality and the general warmth of the staff. If there is a decent swimming pool - and there is here - so much the better. I remember the Elizabeth’s food being consistently superb in 2018, and this year it was even better (a new chef and supporting team, I was told). Every dinner menu was inventive, with beautifully presented dishes which tasted wonderful. Moreover the restaurant experience was much, much better. In 2018 we found the superintending waitress quite controlling (in particular, not willing to pour our wine as fast as we wanted to drink it!). This year, although individual wine bottles were still (irritatingly) held centrally rather than left at guest tables, the wine waiter was responsive to guest wishes. And the wine was excellent and sensibly priced. As to sleep, I was allocated a spacious room - it must have been double, rather than the single I was expecting - which could not have been more comfortable, well laid out or quiet. I slept extremely well. And finally the hotel staff were just lovely. I think there may have been more staff than in 2018, so everything felt more relaxed. The Reception team were particularly helpful when I realised that my digital public transport pass (paid for and downloaded in the U.K.) was actually not going to work reliably in the mountains. We managed to convert it into a paper pass which functioned just fine. As an aside, the Zillertal Activcards (covering local cable cars, buses and trains), which we have bought in every previous visit to Mayrhofen, are now eyewateringly expensive. I saved a lot of money by buying the weekly travel passes and then paying for individual cable car ascents. So overall, I found this a wonderful hotel, very welcoming to me as a solo traveller, and I have now booked again for summer 2026."

"We rented two chalets and paid a fairly high price, expecting comfortable accommodation. Unfortunately, it was far from comfortable. The property itself is nice, spacious, and even has a pleasant balcony to enjoy with friends. However, the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the property is located right next to a construction site, so we were woken up every day at 7:30am by loud drilling noise. When we raised these issues, the owner was rude and arrogant, which made the experience even more disappointing. I would not recommend staying here."

"The hotel has a great location, every room is very clean, it's convenient to get around, the windows offer mountain views, and shopping is easy to find nearby. If I were to travel, I would definitely choose this hotel as my first choice."

"We have just had the most marvellous five nights at this hotel with our friends from Brisbane, Australia. The staff was fantastic, the room immaculately clean and well kept and the hotel’s position in relation to the town and all attractions could not be better. Unfortunately they don’t do meals, apart from breakfast, but that’s not a problem because there are numerous eateries within easy walking distance, some with live Austrian music. The variety and quality of the breakfast gave us a solid start to the day. There is even a lift so no lugging heavy suitcases up stairs! Would definitely recommend! Skiing all year round at Hintertux!, 45 minutes from Mayrhofen by bus. Cablecars abound!"

"The new building with the spa area is really beautiful... because it's very spacious, guests are spread out well, so it's pleasantly quiet everywhere... The food looks very good, but the taste is average. The service is really hit and miss. On the first day, a very friendly and attentive waitress, but on the second day, unfortunately, the complete opposite. The rooms are okay; the older part is quite dated, but clean."

"This place is a true gem situated 1 min from Mayrhofen HBF station and 80 mtrs from the ski buses which cover the Zillertal area. The owners and staff are a great team who can’t do enough to make your stay such a great experience. The place is immaculate and the gym and sauna are an added bonus. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and set us up for a day on the slopes. They have various types of accommodation from couples to large families and some with self catering facilities. We loved this place and will definitely recommend it to anyone. Excellent, thank you the Moigg family🍺"
