"Very decent and lovely 3star hotel (could pass as 4star as well). We stayed one night while in town for the evening market. The pool is bigger that the pictures, and very nice. There are showers at each end of the pool, but bigger signs reminding people to shower before pool would be nice. The rooms were nice and clean, and we slept amazing well. Not the biggest breakfast, but it is a small town so easy to find a bakery and stock up. Parking was just nearby, and the small town in itself is really lovely and nice."

Hotel Loar Ferreries ★★★

"Loar has three kinds of accommodation - hotel/suites in one building and apartments and studios is the adjoining building. The buildings are seamless on he ground floor but separate lifts service the two buildings. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which has a balcony big enough for two chairs so great for looking at the comings and goings of locals and their families and what was going on in the square. The 12 apartments have outward facing balconies whereas the studios face the rear. I think it is worth the extra cost to have an apartment as we spent a fair amount of time just enjoying the atmosphere of the town. I don't know about the hotel rooms as we much prefer the space of an apartment and the flexibility to cook our own meals and snacks. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The highlight was the roof terrace with views, loungers, lovely pool and jacuzzi. There is also an indoor heated pool which was a bit awkward to access as unless the restaurant was open the only way in was via a spiral fire escape. Being able to choose which pool you fancied was a real treat and we mostly had the roof terrace to ourselves. The town itself had no real must-sees for tourists but it was a convenient base to explore the island. Although Loar does not offer parking we always found a space within a few minutes' walk. There are enough places to eat and drink with three decent sized supermarkets, a butcher and fishmonger if you wanted to cook. The apartment facilities made this easy. It is quite surprising to have such a large establishment in an inland town but it seemed quite busy and the bar & restaurant were popular. I certainly recommend Loar and Ferreries. Staying in a central town worked well for us. Don't hesitate to stop at a cheese producer, signposted everywhere. Mahon cheese is excellent."

"We had a wonderful and very relaxing stay here. A family of five, so put into two different rooms. Given we spent most of the time by the pools, we didn't really get to use the private pool by the 2bedroom we had, but it was really nice the few times we did manage to remember to use it. The pools were nice and clean. Staff attentive and friendly. We went all-inclusive which meant that service was also available poolside. With kids I highly recommend this! We also booked the bali beds for some days, and it was nice to have a "spot" to stay as a family coming and going as we preferred. Recommend doing that as well. All food was amazing! - and the service in the restaurant was so friendly. We miss them, and they went out their way to keep our kids supplied with Sprites (though our kids did manage to drink all the Sprites at the resort...) The mix of guests were good - families and couples, and mix of guests from Spain, France and UK mostly. After dinner drinks are available on the rooftop with some music entertainment. It was perfect for us to play cards and slow down for the day. Would love to come back!"

Club Hotel Aguamarina ★★★

"Check in took forever and room was not available for way over an hour on arrival. Not great with an autistic child. Rooms are cramped and too warm with no air con. When asked was told it was broken. However speaking to alot of guests about same problem and they were told it isnt on untill june. Also no working wifi on tv. The noise at night from staff along corridors and banging metal gates is horrendous. When i came out and asked the lady she told me she did not speak english. Guests accross the corridor witnessed this. Went to reception at 6.30am'sh to be asked to move. No respsonse. My ciggarettes have went missing repeatedly and my evening wear... i found my cigarettes in the cleaners bin and removed them. There was also no response from the cleaning lady when asked. Dirty glasses never removed and left to build up when room was cleaned. Patio doors left open by cleaners after cleaning which doesnt help insurance policies. When i went to reception was highly insulted that they insinuated it could be my 2 children. My children are not left alone and i was the only one with the room key. Had to go to jet2 reps ellie who was so helpful and contacted hotel on my behalf and opened a case for me. Her colleuge jose also when booking excursions was amazing. When trying to take part in evening entertainment and asking for translation staff werent great and covered their ears at my children asking for help therefor we went to our room. Kids were highly dissapointed and as a family we are looking forward to going home to our home comforts. Was lovely to enjoy some well deserved sun but leaving feeling very disheartned"
