"Nice place to stay. Good restaurant, jacaranda. Servicelevel dropped during our 4-night stay. A formal complaint to the hotel's manager was not answered at all and upon check-out she totally ignored us. I am not sure it was worth the 7K in total expenses. After Torrelbenc, we went to Mallorca and finally came back to Menorca at Gran Faustino Hotel in Ciutadella. Definitely, the latter has a much better service level."

"I went on a Holiday with my mum for 4 days. We loved the hotel. The room were very big and cleaned. The breakfast was amazing and a lot of options. We also tried the swimming pool and little spa and we were very happy with amenities. On top of that the staff was very friendly and cordial and available to answer our question. The location was also very good closed to the center of Mao. If we ever come back to Menorca we would definetly stay in this hotel again"

Hotel Loar Ferreries

"Loar has three kinds of accommodation - hotel/suites in one building and apartments and studios is the adjoining building. The buildings are seamless on he ground floor but separate lifts service the two buildings. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which has a balcony big enough for two chairs so great for looking at the comings and goings of locals and their families and what was going on in the square. The 12 apartments have outward facing balconies whereas the studios face the rear. I think it is worth the extra cost to have an apartment as we spent a fair amount of time just enjoying the atmosphere of the town. I don't know about the hotel rooms as we much prefer the space of an apartment and the flexibility to cook our own meals and snacks. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The highlight was the roof terrace with views, loungers, lovely pool and jacuzzi. There is also an indoor heated pool which was a bit awkward to access as unless the restaurant was open the only way in was via a spiral fire escape. Being able to choose which pool you fancied was a real treat and we mostly had the roof terrace to ourselves. The town itself had no real must-sees for tourists but it was a convenient base to explore the island. Although Loar does not offer parking we always found a space within a few minutes' walk. There are enough places to eat and drink with three decent sized supermarkets, a butcher and fishmonger if you wanted to cook. The apartment facilities made this easy. It is quite surprising to have such a large establishment in an inland town but it seemed quite busy and the bar & restaurant were popular. I certainly recommend Loar and Ferreries. Staying in a central town worked well for us. Don't hesitate to stop at a cheese producer, signposted everywhere. Mahon cheese is excellent."

"We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at the Hotel Cala Blanes in Menorca with Jet2holidays. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with an incredibly warm, friendly, and pleasant manner by the hotel staff. Throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble for them. We were welcomed with a smile every single time we passed reception or needed assistance. The Room & Amenities Our accommodation on the 5th floor was comfortable and exceptionally clean, with daily freshening and fresh towels provided every 2–3 days. • The Positives: The room was a good size for two people, featuring a comfortable bed with lovely bright bedding, two bedside tables, and a clever wardrobe hidden behind a fabulous picture door. The tiled flooring felt beautifully cool under bare feet, and the small balcony offered fabulous views. The lift worked perfectly, which was a relief as the stairs are a serious workout! • The Negatives: The air conditioning was a little noisy at night. The bathroom was the main letdown. It was small, and the bath was squeezed awkwardly behind the door. You had to climb between a small gap next to the sink and over the plug end of the bath just to turn the shower on at the other end, resulting in a blast of cold water every time! The hotel would highly benefit from replacing these baths with modern walk-in showers. Pool & Gardens The hotel features one unheated swimming pool. The water was quite cold, so the best strategy was taking a cold shower first and then getting straight in! • Sunbeds: There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool, plus an extra stash in the garden. Space is a bit limited right by the pool, so it was much better to just use the extra ones in the garden area where there was more room to spread out. • Convenience: Umbrellas were available (though not advisable on windy days). The bar, hot drinks machine, and an outdoor toilet/shower block were all conveniently close to the pool area. Dining Experience The restaurant staff were cheerful, welcoming, and very quick to clear away crockery. While the food itself was nice, there is definitely room for improvement regarding the layout and flow: • The Layout: The setup isn’t designed for customer ease. The hot drink machine is placed right next to the toaster, causing massive queues in the morning. Meanwhile, the cold juice machines are on the complete opposite side of the room. It would make much more sense to group all drinks together. • Drink Options: You cannot get hot drinks with lunch or dinner in the dining room, which is frustrating if you do not want alcohol or soft drinks with your meal. You can walk to the bar area and carry them back in yourself which is bit annoying. • Food Flow & Variety: The stations do not flow well, meaning we often missed the "specials" until we were full and leaving the restaurant. While I applaud the creative reuse of leftover ingredients to prevent waste, finding soggy cornflakes mixed into yoghurt on the dessert"

"What a smashing wee hotel. We had a room on the 1st floor with terrace which was fantastic as we had direct access out onto the courtyard grass area with patio tables and loungers. The hotel is immaculate with modern interiors and a gym with spa. The whole ambience is cool and calm and peaceful and the location is fantastic, only a 2 min walk from the main areas and 5mins from the bus station if you fancy a trip elsewhere. If you are looking for a small, very friendly and peaceful hotel with lovely staff in an amazing location in beautiful Ciutadella this hotel will be for you. We would definitely go back."

"A lovely modern hotel with very good facilities, perhaps especially well suited to couples. The hotel was so welcoming from the moment we arrived - rather late- to be warmly welcomed by the lovely receptionist, who was part of a great team - always helpful. The room was spacious, with a balcony (some overlook the pool, which are great in May - the other side might be better when it is hotter later in the season?). There's a big comfortable bed, an in room safe, and tea and coffee making facilities - and a fridge. We found several English TV channels if needed. It was kept sparklingly clean. The outside pool was lovely - though apparently, we were brave going in (it wasn't cold! Some people found it cool apparently...). The spa is lovely, and usually easy to book the day before - it often booked up in the later afternoon. The pool was great, and there was a sauna and steam room. The staff were lovely. You could have various treatments too. We enjoyed the food (one of us is veggie), and there was lots of choice at both breakfast and dinner on our half board package (lots of people were on half board). Lots of fruit, veg and salad, as well as a wide choice of mains, starters and desserts. Drinks were not included, but were very reasonable - cocktails comparable to the UK, other drinks slightly cheaper. A very pleasant chilled cava was always on offer, and went well with the food. The pool bar also served drinks, snacks and tea and coffee during the day. We'd researched it beforehand, but the location might be an issue for some people. We loved it - it's in a fairly residential, quiet area, on a small bay, and walking distance to two others (Cala Blanca and Sa Caleta). There were good local buses, very reasonable (we did make a mistake once and overshot our stop!!), and we did hire a car for a few days to see some more remote parts of the island. The hotel helped with this, too. Ciutadella was walkable if you are moderately fit, or a short taxi or bus journey away. Finally, I can't speak highly enough of the staff. Everyone was so professional and friendly - the reception team, the bar staff, all of the waiting staff in the restaurant, the spa staff, and all of the very many cleaners were a delight - and everyone was so patient with our stumbling language skills. A big thank you for making our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable."
