"It is a very well-located hotel, right in the "heart" of Modena. It's in the ZTL zone, not to worry, the staff were very vigilant & assisted with the ZTL coupon which was valid for the stay. The hotel is a bit "old", so don't expect much, however, the rooms are nicely furnished. Mattresses are firm to my liking and there is enough toiletries. Breakfast was sumptuous! A delicious spread & of high quality. Note as the hotel is a bit old, don't expect top grade elevators - they are narrow, and the rooms a bit "hollow". Opens up to the balcony with excellent "minor" view of the basilica. However, sound travels and you can hear the next door neighbour if they speak loudly or slam the door. Parking, however, is a nightmare, as expected of this very narrow town. No fault of the hotel itself. You can find parking nearby, may have to walk 5-6 mins. The excellent English speaking Reception/Check In Staff will assist with that & all my questions were answered."

"Hotel located 10 minutes walk from the center. The property does not have parking but they offer you a pass to use the blue lines for free. The hall is clean and large, with sofas for relaxing or waiting to go out. Friendly staff. The room is clean and quite large. Numerous doubts regarding the bathroom: door-box that did not close and shower that did not drain the water resulting in flooding of the bathroom. At our request, staff intervened promptly to dry everything but with the doubt that everything had not been sorted out beforehand. Lack of glasses in the bathroom. Poor breakfast with the necessary minimum and numerous packaged products (biscuits and tre marie muffins to name a few). Further doubts about the fact that at check-out we were not asked how our stay went (as is generally done) despite my input to fix the bathroom. Quality/price not adequate. In conclusion: hotel not entirely recommended for those who want to stay in a 4*, in my opinion of a lower category (3*)."

"There was a power cut at night whilst we were planning our itinerary for the next day. Lights, electricity and Internet stopped working and therefore we went to sleep hoping it will work the next morning. To our surprise nothing was working the next morning - we asked the cleaner nearby to help and she tried playing with the switches and since it still didn’t work she suggested calling reception. We tried calling but that didn’t work either. We had to use the bathroom in the dark, and then went down to the reception with our phones for charging. The lady at the reception said she will send someone in the room to check for lights, and asked me to take the charging back to my room. I asked whether I can leave it there for charging and she said I can bring it back if it doesn’t work in the room. I told her the Internet wasn’t working either and she told me that Internet is working everywhere in the hotel. Then I told her that she can come with me to see it for herself if she doesn’t believe me - she went away somewhere so I headed back to my room and then she later came to our room. The issue with the lights was fixed however they weren’t able to resolve the WiFi issue. Therefore we went back down to charge our phones and use Internet to plan our itinerary. It was frustrating that we didn’t have the basic service of electricity and internet we paid for. The manager wasn’t particularly understanding and put the onus on us."
