We arrived for some lunch, shown to a table and we both had a drink each (coffee and diet coke). After 30 minutes of waiting for someone to provide a menu, take our order we gave up, paid and left, then went elsewhere. Had better service in a greasy spoon.

Went for lunch today (1st March 25).. had a lovely lunch with great service but it was ruined when a gentleman, whom I presumed was the manager, berated a young staff member in front of the customers. The young man had apparently forgotten to turn the lamps on, wasnt much of an issue as it wasnt evening. Yet we felt the tone and actions of the manager led to a bullying put down for the young man. The gentleman then complained about him to the customers at a large table, whilst the young man had to stand there. We got up and left as it was a unpleasant and unnecessary scene. We also spoke to the young man and told him bullying wasn't acceptable anywhere. Doubt we will revisit, which is a shame as it's a lovely place to visit.

Had lunch today. Fabulous!!! Service, surrounds and food was absolutely FAB. We will definitely be back. Very varied menu. Choice of full meals or light bites. Great value for money. Staff were lovely. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch in a great atmosphere. The facilities are well maintained and cosy. Even located in the main street, the restaurant uopens up a view to the fields. The service is fast and very customer-friendly. The food is lovely in sufficient portions. This place invites to stay the whole day and relax

Good location in centre of Moffat with easy access to restaurants and facilities. Hotel very clean and tidy with excellent décor. Staff very helpful and friendly. Spacious and very tidy room with extremely comfortable bed. Superb breakfast.

It was a beautiful day and we had a trip out to Moffat stopping off for Sunday lunch at Moffat House which had been taken over since our last visit and very nicely decorated.. we were taken into the lounge and offered a drink which we didn’t get time to take a sip of before being whisked into the dining room.. We ordered smoked mackerel pate to start which was very nice with roast beef for our mains.. lovely crispy roast potatoes fluffy Yorkshire puds and delicious cauliflower cheese.. the big let down was the beef it was cut so thin it was tasteless.. Desert Berry Pavlova with ice cream sounded delicious unfortunately at £7 a big let down a tiny merengue nest with a scoop of ice cream and 8 blueberries not sure how they could call it Berry Pavlova as it was certainly lacking in berries!! Lovely dining room lacking in atmosphere we wouldn’t rush back

What a beautiful little town and the hotel is a gem . ALL the staff were so friendly and welcoming and in a really genuine way. Our room was decorated really tastefully and super clean and cosy. Great value and included a well cooked delicious breakfast. I really enjoyed our stay and regret it was only for one night.

Moffat’s best kept secret for an excellent meal. Plenty of parking, Reception staff friendly and experienced. Lunch in a beautiful Garden Restaurant, small numbers but plenty of space between tables for privacy. Menu small but adequate selection. Food very well presented and was delicious, nice sized portions served by friendly and non pushy staff. Price was up market, not expensive for what you get in ambience and quality We had a really lovely meal and experience. One to be repeated again soon. Thank you everyone for a lovely experience
