North Devon resort

Guests appreciate the friendly staff and comfortable beds. They enjoy the lovely spa, sauna, and spacious pool. Some find the pool slightly quiet.

We were very disappointed with the facilities here. The pool had closed the deep end, leaving only the shallow end available. It's the Summer holidays, I woukd have thought the pool would be ready for use. My 14 year old twins tried to use the games room, but there was no ping pong ball for the table tennis table! The bed sheets in their room were dirty, which i only spotted as we left and I was re making the bed! The shower did not work properly, only being cold or red hot the minute you tried to move it from low to eco to high. The tables in the front room were so wobbly, all of them, the main dining table included, you couldn't put any weight on pressure on them for fear of them breaking. The sofas were very small and low, not ideal if you're over 5ft!! Very bare, the lounge didn't even have a lamp, just bright stark lightshade. The food in the clubhouse was excellent though, and money has obviously been spent in there. The facilities 'list' is very misleading. The 'terrace' is a peice of decking that sticks out from the cafe, and the 'beer garden' is one or two dilapidated tables shoved out on a bit of grass in front of a hedge next to the road. We went out most of the time to be able to sit somewhere nice, when I thought we would be able to do so at NDR. Disappointed is an understatement for the money we paid.

Friendly & helpful staff. Rooms basic, but clean & good value for money.
