Sandals Negril Beach All Inclusive Resort and Spa - Couples Only

We stayed for 10 days in the club level longshore beachfront walkout room as a couple for a vacation. It was the perfect room for us at the quiet end of the resort. While we loved everything about our stay we will miss the people the most. Employees that made their mark include sweet Monique in the coffee shop (I’m already missing my iced honey latte), Daynia who seemed to work across most restaurants and King James from entertainment team. We enjoyed walking the beach every day up to Beaches and back, stopping and talking to locals along the way (shout out to Mike and his 2 pups). We enjoyed some lobster from Iko at Fireman’s Pit, had Sledge sing us a song and daily visits from the kitties, little ginge was my favourite! Brava was most definitely our favourite restaurant! The steak was amazing. Kimonos the first night we went was great, big portions and entertaining, but a different chef the second night not so great (seemed nervous & did not engage the group and everything drenched in soy sauce). Barefoot was the most serene with great views morning and night. Sundowner took far too long to serve so we gave that a miss. The buffet was always great and staff accommodating. We did find some mixed communication from staff, for example being told we would need to pay for snorkelling if we didn’t join the exclusive Club trip (you don’t). Another staff member told us we can’t reserve front row sunbeds only butlers (you can and lots did). I was also told when I asked a staff member in the Club office as I eat gluten free just to notify the servers when I arrive at restaurants, but Daynia shared that I should speak to the culinary desk to understand the menus better. Watersports rules also not clearly explained and differ between who you speak to. Mostly though service is spot on and you are made to feel very much at home. One small niggle is that I normally enjoy daily use of a spa with my partner and we hadn’t realised they were separated male and female. We ended up going three times and on the first my partner said the steam room wasn’t working, and sauna didn’t get hot. My second time I found the steam room not to work for me and on the third neither was working. I told staff and they were aware and said maintenance were coming to fix it but I couldn’t understand why they would let me go in if they knew. We didn’t overly mind because we enjoyed lying on the beach. We didn’t use the pool at all as it was a bit too cliquey around that area for our liking as it’s very small. You can’t swim at the beach which we hadn’t realised as the area you can go in is very small but again it didn’t bother us too much. We don’t normally care for entertainment either but couldn’t help wanting to watch and King James did a good job at entertaining and getting us involved! Everyone was friendly and we felt very much at home. The staff at the excursion desk also go above and beyond trying to make arrangements that work best for you and thankfully we enjoy

We had an amazing time at Sandals Negril. The entertainment was top notch. We enjoyed spending time with Skyye,Antonio, Odane, Izzy King James and the man Lush! Their singing was out of this world. We will definitely be back if they are still here of course

We had a fabulous 8 days…highlights were the beach and water, of course. Our butler, Theda, was excellent and we requested her again. Shoutout to the Crema cafe staff, delightful. Food was delicious, we enjoyed Sundowner and Brava. Spa staff were professional and skilled.

Here with a group of friends and I must say it has been amazing. First time at an all inclusive and I can’t say enough about the entertainment and staff here. Lady Ruth is exceptional. The way she approaches you just makes your day. King James is amazing and full of energy. The sunset here is gorgeous. The rooms are spectacular. Would definitely recommend anybody to come.

I’ve been wanting to come to Sandals for years. With all the advertising speaking of high class service, exceptional food, etc. I couldn’t wait to go but I was disappointed. This is NOT the worst all inclusive but definitely not what they advertise or what I expected. The rooms are dated and bathrooms tiny unless you spring for a high end room which is in a newer tower. Who would know this when booking? The food is NOT high quality, overcooked lobster from the Sundowner and the breakfast buffet is constantly out of items which they are slow to replace. Instead of keeping things on hand/in stock, seems the trend is to wait until it runs out and make guests wait until they choose to replenish. This also applies at the omelette stand. Crazy, I know and we had this same experience arriving at breakfast early and later in the morning, so clearly this is their standard operating procedure. The activities are somewhat fun but DO NOT start on time and one event we attempted to attend didn’t happen at all and not one person came to make an announcement of such. The entertainment staff overall is extremely engaging. You will see them throughout the resort. Ruth is part of the entertainment staff and is a pleasant, beautiful young lady and a wonderful dancer. I will say overall, my sister and I had a nice time and though there are a number of staff members who stood out, there are many who could use training in smiling and simply greeting guests. No one wants to pay Sandals prices and be made to feel as if they are bothering staff because their attitude presents as if they choose to not be bothered. Also, my sister is deathly afraid of cats and they were all over the Barefoot which is a restaurant located on the beach. These cats literally come to the table and climb on the side of the seat. You will also encounter them as well as extremely aggressive birds who will grab food from your table while you’re eating. This is at the Bayside Grill where they hold the breakfast buffet. The staff members I would like to highlight are Asha-Lee, this young lady is amazing. Attentive, engaging and seemingly looking for a way to assist. She works in food service which is a waste, she is clearly concierge material as she seeks to assists guests with matters outside of her area. Andre “Brice” young man, super engaging, beautiful smile and makes you feel welcome. There was not a time he saw us and did not interact. Jhanelle held it down at the bar and even when busy, managed to speak and not allow guests to feel ignored. While on the bar, this is another area that needs to be improved upon. Why does every bar NOT have cold, bottled water but all through the day you see staff pushing cases of water around, they can’t all be going to the rooms, but this again speaks to what I mentioned earlier, don’t restock before you’re out, make the guest wait to then bring them a warm bottle of water in the heat or simply say you’re all out. The same was experienced with certain alcohol

We just returned from our fifth anniversary trip at Sandals Negril where we got married. We informed the staff we were returning for our anniversary when asked about any special event we were celebrating (upon check-in). Most resorts do something special for anniversaries, and I would assume Sandals would especially when they proactively asked which specific date our anniversary was and they were well aware we had our wedding at the resort. Nothing. Even worse, our room didn’t even get cleaned that day! In fact, our room was cleaned only twice in the six days we were there. We called before we left before the beach a few days to ask for them to clean our room before we returned. That only happened once. The food was very good; however, I returned with what my doctor suspects is a giardia parasitic infection (easily treated by antibiotics), but lab tests are not back yet. I have all the symptoms, which started three days after I ate what I suspected was undercooked fish I sent back. One evening, we had reservations at Sundowner and literally waited 40 minutes before someone brought us bread and no one took our food order (we did get drinks). We were told a staff member had gotten sick (New Year’s day—lots of rude, likely hungover staff that day). No apologies or anything when a waiter did come over and we explained we had been seated for over 40 minutes—just an expression of shock and an explanation. We ended up leaving and went to Bayside, a non-reservation restaurant, which was closing in 15 minutes. We explained our situation and they fortunately served us, but warned us in advance the chef that night was “heavy handed with the spices,” so the linguini we ordered may be too spicy. She was right. That was our worst night after a disappointing day of no recognition of our anniversary. Staff at the pool and beach bars acted like they didn’t want to be at work. I don’t think even one made eye contact with us. Totally different experience than the happy Jamaican people we’ve always experienced. We did see numerous massive stingrays in the shallow water in the ocean, but no warnings from the resort. The beach is gorgeous, but the stingrays made us a little leery of venturing into the ocean too much. The only highlight of our trip was Sasha, the amazing photographer who took fantastic photos at sunset on the beach to commemorate our anniversary at the resort where we got married. We did pay dearly for the photos though ($550), but they really are great. That said, we will not receive our photo book for 6-8 weeks. We did leave a message with the front desk asking for a manager to contact us about our experiences, but never received a call. We paid $9,000 for this trip. You would think service would have been a little better!
