Popular Nelson 4-star Hotels

Great location, Staff were lovely, place was dated but tidy. Dinner Restaurant is still closed due to covid. The main reason for the down review is I had booked with a voucher for the first night that included breakfast. I asked for 2 more nights and expected breakfast. When I checked in, I validated it was but when we checked out was told not the case so we paid $69 (2 pax) per day for an avg breakfast that had we known we would have gone elsewhere and paid less. Mgr on duty would not budge or even apologise. Disappointed as I would have rated much higher

The hotel is well located near the city center, within walking distance to the downtown commercial street and restaurants, supermarkets and the beautiful Nelson Cathedral. The rooms are spacious and clean with complete facilities.

We stayed here for two nights before and after walking the Abel Tasman Track. The welcome from the receptionist on the 15th March was very professional and polite. We had a King Studio on the 5th floor for our first stay which was clean and spacious. If you are short it would be difficult to reach some of the kitchen items on the top shelf. The central location was brilliant as we could walk to all the shops, galleries, gardens and cafes. Fresh Choice supermarket is just down the road. Kitchen is well-equipped. Great to have a washer/dryer to wash all tramping clothes after the walk. Our second stay was in a second floor room which did not have such a good view but was still excellent. We did not hear any other guest noise in either stay apart from occasional doors shutting. Outside noise is obliterated when the windows are closed - this noise was minimal anyway. House keeping staff were polite and friendly. Definitely recommended. The baggage storage facility was great for when we did the Abel Tasman Walk. Reception staff were very helpful. We felt very relaxed and comfortable in the apartment.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Palms last month. Due to circumstances out of our control, we were unable to say how long we'd need the room for. No problems, the room is available for as long as need be. We had a nice sunny studio room with a balcony. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a pleasant one, given the circumstances. The room was cleaned and re-stocked daily, bed very comfortable. As our room was closer to the main road we thought we'd get some traffic noise. We heard nothing. Supermarket directly across the road, walking tracks along the river areas, and only a short walk into Trafalgar St. Thank you, Brooke, Gardy & Kay for all of your help. We will definitely be back to stay when we next visit Nelson.

As the name suggests you are right on the water when you stay here. Our room was sparklingly clean and fresh when we arrived. Features are a comfy king size bed and really big bathroom with detachable shower head in the shower. Eco friendly push button soaps as well as regular soap and shampoo provided Tea and coffee are quality and two packs of welcome biscuits are in the kitchen area The fridge is pretty small but there is a good sized toaster and kettle. A free continental breakfast is offered in the upstairs breakfast room Not all the guest rooms have views of the harbour Ours was the carpark Also the air came in through the window or sliding door in the glass wall of our room that ran along the first floor balcony. Block out curtains also blocked out the fresh air and with the curtains open there was not much privacy when others went by on the balcony.. alternatively we could have just used the ac unit and closed the curtains The location was just a few minutes drive to the centre of Nelson Staff are very friendly and helpful There is a washer and dryer are fresh water to top up and encourage reusing water bottles Would stay again but opt for a harbour view room
