Sol Nessebar Mare

Currently staying at the hotel and have been extremely disappointed by the lack of rule enforcement by the hotel staff. Signs clearly displayed stating sunbeds not occupied will be stripped of towels etc yet 50% of sunbeds are being reserved from 08:00 onwards with no one on them until gone 12:00, Smoking and vaping is a common occurrence poolside so be prepared to breath in the secondhand smoke of others which is disgusting especially if you’re eating. Hotel stay being ruined by a selfish few and hotel staff seemingly not caring.

We stayed at Sol Nessebar Bay & Mare for 10 days with our child who has a milk allergy, and unfortunately, our experience did not meet even the most basic expectations for a 4-star hotel. Here's a breakdown of the issues we encountered: Food & Allergy Management – Extremely Poor • The hotel claims to be allergy-friendly. This is not true. • Allergen labels in the buffet are inaccurate (confirmed by kitchen staff). • The “allergy corner” includes only two plant-based milks—nothing more. • While they give you a allergy card in English and Bulgarian, it has no effect on actual food availability, and it is even hard to find person who would understand allergens written on the card. • It took five days and constant back-and-forth just to arrange a simple dish (meat without milk or much pepper). • Staff frequently confused milk allergy with gluten intolerance. • Many do not understand that butter contains milk. • Staff is generally uninformed about allergens and poorly trained. • No dairy-free ice cream or allergy-safe treats available (even margarine contains milk), not even to purchase. • We were clearly treated like the first guests ever with a food allergy, which is shocking. Room Conditions – Not 4-Star Standard • No toiletries in the room apart from hand soap (no tissues, water, or even glasses). • Only paper cups were provided; they disintegrated after one use and were never replaced – just after 5 days taken away, so you need to bring your own bottle or take paper cups from bar. • Tap water must be fetched from a shared dispenser in the hallway. • Bed linens were changed only after 5 days and multiple reminders. • We had cockroaches in the room. Hotel staff insisted they were “nature bugs just looking as a cockroaches” and offered just vacuum cleaning. We wanted to change the room, manager explained to us, that we are in nature so it is quite common that these cockroaches that just look as cockroaches are everywhere. • Balcony pooped by seagulls, never cleaned. Pool & Facilities – Misleading and Inadequate • Water in pools is only 20°C—too cold for kids. • Despite being advertised as one complex, guests from Bay & Mare are not allowed to use sunbeds or services at the Palace section (the only area with warmer pool). • Lifeguards do not supervise water slides properly—only police the sunbeds. • Sunbed availability is a daily race—by 8:00 AM, everything is gone (apart from Palace part, that is forbidden to use). • Towel kiosk hours are absurd (opens at 9 AM (when all sunbeds are already gone), closed at lunchtime and at 6 PM - so anytime it is natural to go there, it is closed), and it's often unattended as hotel is understaffed and kiosk service must go for new towels on their own. • “Lazy River” ride lacks inner tubes and rules, leading to arguments between guests. Not Stroller-Friendly • Access to the beach involves over 60 stairs in front of Mare hotel, no proper ramps. • No changing cabins, no toilets near the beach—must walk back to h

Just few things. 🔆 ash trays behind the tv not outside. 🔆 if your tv doesn’t work at first then your sockets wont work ( took me three days to get my travel adapter working but I’m guessing i had no electricity coming to my room. 🔆outside light on balcony you can’t control, they turn them all on at 8:30pm and off at 11pm. 🔆hotdog and burgers wasn’t open to us (shameful) 🔆beds are very comfy. 🔆staff don’t really interact, aren’t very helpful and you will be left guessing, but the life guards on the slides are very funny and very friendly. 🔆the shop man is amazing, super friendly and so helpful. His shop has everything you could need. 🔆can’t get decent soft drinks in the morning i.e cola, Fanta etc gotta have their stuff doesn’t taste the same. 🔆beers go down nicely but cocktails are weird I think they give you the booze but you need to put in the soft drink otherwise the godfather cocktail I tried was just per alcohol. 🔆 if you have picky eaters not the place for you, food hardly changes and snack items are pizza and chips. Only got a chance for a burger once and without a proper bun. 🔆ice cream shed wasn’t open and had to have little pots of ice cream, would have been nice to have a cone. 🔆there isn’t much difference between the bay, palace and bay, you can use the bars and the snacks, but you have to stay in your pool of your hotel and eat there but really you can move around. 🔆 be ready to walk cos toilets are quite far. Evening stage is in the middle of the palace and it’s quite a walk to pee. But on the splash pool the kids club has a toilet near by. 🔆slides close at 12:30 til 1:30 for life guards to go on break together but hardly warning so be ready to walk back down the stairs. Then they close at 4:30pm 🔆the fire alarm is not an alarm it sounds like a broken record of a woman speaking in maybe ten languages and we had to wait to finally hear ‘fire alarm’ very confusing. It went off at 1:30am then again at 5:30 am very upsetting for kids and staff were very unhelpful hardly telling anyone anything. 🔆the slides are good fun. 🔆the evening entertainment are amazing something different every night. 🔆 fun little activities throughout the day, shooting. Quite cheap too. 🔆 sadly alot of kids including my own drops glasses and plates but staff do clean up very quick. 🔆housekeeping very good job, room always clean. All in all not a bad holiday, we had great fun. A few little problems. In the end I felt the staff just didn’t care but I can’t say I blame them. You get work you paid for and I think I got a somewhat bargain.

Absolutely fantastic hotel, food was good quality, a lot of food choices, room was clean no issues. Very happy 10 points for this hotel Beach is 1 min away Pool bars work till late, fresh fruits and juices. Good location 20min from burgas Airport. Local shop around hotel

Great place had best time with my 2 boys loads variety food during day ..fun slides, friendly staff ..highlight eating at Asian hotpot restaurant amazing staff the best and to the dude at door who shows you table you the best ..kids loved it so much

I stayed in Mare hotel last week in June in 2024. Everything was a great. We had a room with the sea view 736 and we really enjoyed every day. Food was excellent, in my opinion plenty of choices for everyone. Local beer, wines and alcohol was good also. Staff were really friendly. This hotel is more less for the families, so if you want go for a clubbing the best option is Sunny beach. You can take a taxi there from the hotel. I would recomend this hotel to everyone, because of we had a great time. I would like to thanks everyone for their hard work which make our holiday really nice and we had a pleasant stay.
