Our third stay in 12 months. We enjoy the location of this hotel, so handy for bars and restaurants; no taxis required! The breakfast is also amazing, loads of choice, food is hot and fresh, tables always clean and staff are well organised and friendly. The beds are really comfortable, and shower has always been good, and rooms/linen always clean. We like the ice bucket provided and machine in the hall, the complimentary water and having robes and slippers in the room. Two small points that weren't great were as follows. We've never yet had a working fridge in our room. Not sure whether this is a service no longer offered for some reason, if there's a way to switch it on/request it to be on or if we're just unlucky and always get one that doesn't work! Not a major problem, just would be nice to have, or take it away so we don't think it should be working. The other point is just the general decor, as in marked/damaged paintwork, tired fittings, and in this bathroom, damp affecting the grout and shower cubicle fittings plus a big crack in the sink. More wear and tear than cleanliness, and hopefully general freshen up/ refurb is on the cards soon. Still a great hotel in a great location, we'll be back!

Room was mouldy and plaster coming off the ceiling, toilets are too far from room And not very clean also blocked 3 times in 2 days, then they take a deposit off you which is fair enough but find very petty excuses not to give you it back terrible service and very dirty place

The location for Hampton by Hilton Newcastle is extremely convenient, just adjacent to the Nexus Central Station. The room are clean and supplied with adequate daily consumables such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, iron, iron board, electric water boiler, coffee, tea, etc. We had requested them to provide one more quilt to us and was attended to timely. Will consider to come again if required. Thanks.

I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

The overall place was nice, neat and clean. Location wise it was ideal however the towels provided had holes in them. It would be really nice if they provided facilities to refill water bottles with filtered drinking water instead of filling our bottles from the washroom tap!

This hotel is not a place to stay for more than two nights. They do not clean your room and provide replenished supplies. You have to ask every time you need something, tissues toilet paper milk tea coffee clean towels soap. It is an hotel with many rooms but it seems as though there are only four disabled parking places close to the front of the hotel the last couple of nights the two disabled parking spaces were filled by expensive Porsches that did not display blue badges. Seems they think they can do what they like The parking is monitored by parking eye. Be careful as you may end up with a hefty parking charge from ******* like them It gets very noisy at the weekends, ask for ear plugs and they look at you stupid. Generally they could save a fortune by turning the hot water temperature down and using thermostatic mixer taps. The aircraft noise starts between 6am and 7 am. There seems to be a lot of secrecy you have to ask for menu’s then get told where to get it Be a good idea if they had menus in the rooms.food not bad reasonable price but would have liked menu in rooms Interesting caveats you don’t get a refund if you have a covid related issue or if Ukraine causes problems but they do not have any protocol’s in place about social distancing. The lifts are a free for all and there are no notices about about who should be in the lift . I think the rated capacity is 10 or 75 kg. I would like to see limits on lift capacity and stopping un related people entering the lifts. Three times I told people I did not want to share the lift but they still piled in so I left. One way to prevent this would be to not have interrupted journeys if you get in on floor 2 and want to go to ground floor do not stop at level 1. They seem to be more concerned with their profits than customer safety or protection. You can get rooms cheaper on other websites than their own checkin Would I be going back? ?? Not 100% sure yet but 99.99% I won’t be returning

Stayed overnight as my hubby had an appointment, we took our furbaby with us. We arrived early abd as I was concerned about the parking timescales, we went to query at reception. We were met by Katy and Kelly who were really helpful. As our room was ready, they checked us in early. They were really friendly and customer care was excellent. Our room was clean and well aired. Yes there was some road noise, but we anticipated worse as the holtel is located next to a busy main road and is on the flight path into Newcastle airport, however, tye windows blocked out most of the noise. If staying here, go with an open mind we did and were pleasantly surprised

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe are in the IHG club and have therefore stayed at other Indigo hotels. This was our first visit to Newcastle. We got off to a bad start because when I tried to phone the hotel prior to our arrival I was put into an endless loop which didn't get anywhere. I eventually had to contact Indigo Central who had the same problem getting through. Someone from the hotel did then contact me however and apologised that there were issues with the telephone system. Not a good first impression however. The other issue we had was with the room cards which I had to have re-calibrated a total of five times in the two days we were there. We were eventually told that if we kept them in the same pocket as a mobile phone or in its vicinity this would stop the card working. This is not an issue that we recall having had elsewhere. The room was modern and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We found the mattress to be on the hard side. There were plenty of plugs, there was adequate lighting and a room safe. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided as was a fridge with bottled water. We ate in the hotel on our first night and found the food to be very good. We had been confused that within the hotel itself there were signs referring to a Marco Pierre White restaurant, but it turned out that this had closed. The restaurant is now the Grainger. There was a good choice of self-service breakfast, and also a cooked menu. So the positives outweigh the negatives, and we would probably stay here again if we came back to Newcastle.
FFranfromivegillCannot best the location!!!! Trolley push out of the doors and into the hotel ( or vice versa). No worry about taxi or transfer. Restaurant OK but suffers from the same ailment of so many…. Blinking awful coffee!!!! Also those awful mugs …. I have said before….. I have taken to bringing my own decent mug to drink out of.
I ate in the bar last time - similar menu ( same prices) but no booking of a table required. Just got to put up with TV with constant noise or sport……
They let me leave my luggage while I drop off or pick up a hire car…. About 10 minutes walk away.
Always my first choice.
IIreneTongThis room type is relatively large, but the facilities are old and the mattress is damaged. There is a full-length mirror facing the bed, which is a big taboo for Chinese people. There is no refrigerator in the room, and there is no laundry room in the hotel. There is laundry service but the price is Expensive and not worth it. This time I want to talk about Ctrip, which I have always trusted so much. This is just an ordinary budget hotel, but the asking price is twice as expensive as Dianping.com. Ctrip, which I trust so much, made a reservation in a hurry without looking at other platforms. , you will have to shop around before placing an order in the future😤😤
GGuest UserA GEM find for me. I stayed two nights. Was not that cheap but compared to my recent Marriott stays this was a true diamond. I am not a rail enthusiast but love travelling and this just ticked all the boxes. I emailed days before I came requesting a railway station view. I did the same at Leeds Marriott but they let me down so much. So arrived at reception and this lovely lady checked me in and carefully looked at the plan. The room allocated was not ready, but she found a room 403 for me. One negative about reception. There was a car being driven into the foyer. The toxic fumes were so bad and what a very stupid thing to do. I have heart failure and could feel it effecting me , I dread to think how the staff on reception felt. Absolutely foolhardy. I entered my room and was so excited. Lovely clean , modern room. A ceiling to floor window with a view of the train station of Newcastle Central. The bathroom had a bath unlike Leeds marriott and had a walk in shower too. Brilliant. There was hdmi facility for the tv and welcome pack. Everything I needed. Room service was good too. Breakfast on both days was very nice, with oat milk and lots of fruit. Good offering Well done Crowne plaza
SSimoneLovely stay here at sandman hotel. Room very clean and modern view from our room of the newcastle stadium made it even better would deffinalty come here again.
GGuest UserStayed in this hotel for a one night business trip stay over. If you’re looking for something with a little character this is a great place to stay . Central Newcastle , right next to the central train station and Metro entrance, a little bit of elegance. A lovely entrance foyer ( decorated with an amazing Christmas tree) with large chandeliers and helpful staff at check in. Finding my room was a bit of an adventure , but part of the charm of a historic building .
My room was clean , quiet , mini fridge , kettle and tea/coffee , tv , surprisingly good bathroom and comfortable bed.
I had a good English breakfast in the morning , and again the staff were lovely.
I thought it was very good value , and I would stay again .
GGuest UserI was nervous about staying here after all the reviews, but actually wasn't as bad as some of the reviews I'd read! Yes the hotel is very dated, it has the look and feel of a 70s/80s type hotel. It could do with new carpets, furniture a lick of paint, but it was clean. The bedding smelt clean and looked it, no marks etc. Bathroom was also clean and had amenities such as shampoo, shower gel. We didn't eat there so cannot comment on food (took the 2min drive along to The Badger) We had an early morning flight so checked in 630pm and checked out by 6am. It did us just fine I genuinely can't complain, I paid £55 for a room and 8 nights parking!
Lovely hotel very clean Bed was super comfy When we arrived the room didn’t have a bath , the lady on reception went out of her way to get a room with a bath for us , Thankyou so much We did ask how much the dressing gowns were as it said you could purchase them , however we were told you couldn’t ,by one girl thenwhen we checked out we showed the receptionist the cards where it said we could purchase them and she apologised and then went to find out , they were £30 , Breakfast was a Buffett style with cereals pastries yoghurts and cooked breakfast , they even did me a cooked gluten free breakfast We have booked for my birthday on October Would definitely recommend
GGuest UserRoom ok, staff friendly, downstairs is the Blance bar where you have 25% discount on food and drink, the only negative note is the breakfast is not like in the photos and they don't have a coffee machine but a machine that dispenses everything with blends
DDarrenStayed for four nights was a nice clean hotel in a good location thr parking was very tight and questionable but the staff had it very well organised. If I'm up that way again I would consider staying here again.
