Mediocre at best, on par with a typical All Seasons hotel. If it wasn't for the National Day holiday, it definitely wouldn't be worth 2000 yuan a night. What's more, the soundproofing is poor, and the front desk staff clearly seemed less friendly towards Chinese guests.

The hotel's location is quite good. It's about 200 meters from the North exit of M1 Victoria Cross, one metro stop to Sydney (Central), and only three metro stops to the city center. The surrounding area is also very quiet, and the hotel's facilities are still quite new, making for a comfortable stay. However, the daily housekeeping is rather basic. Considering Sydney's transportation costs, even for just a few stops, a trip for three people usually costs over ten dollars. This makes hotels within walking distance of the city center a considerable advantage. If I come to Sydney again, I might choose a hotel in the city center for greater convenience when sightseeing.

I stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. I arrived at the hotel in the morning and they stored my luggage for me. The room was very clean, and it was cleaned daily. The amenities included a shower cap, soap, sanitary bag, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Please note that the hotel is located at the bottom of a steep hill right after you exit the station, and the entrance can be a bit hard to find. If you have mobility issues, I recommend taking a taxi from the airport. Especially when checking out, you'll have to pull your heavy suitcase up the hill.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was excellent, from the comfortable rooms to the overall cleanliness and atmosphere. The reception staff were warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to others.

A really nice hotel. It's very close to the MTR station. There's a Saturday market nearby, which is great to visit in the morning. I would definitely stay here again next time. Highly recommended for families with children.

Some dirty spots on the bed sheets. I made 4 reservations (for 12 days) for one room because of my personal reasons. And the front staff who was male said I need to check in and out for every reservations. I emailed them like 2 weeks before my check in date, and they even replied to that email. I think it was ridiculous. I asked to another staff and she helped me with staying in the same room during my stay. It was that much satisfying staying... :( Some staffs were nice, but some were not.

Absolutely amazing! Getting to the city center was incredibly fast. I highly recommend North Sydney to anyone who finds city hotels expensive! It offers excellent value for money, and it's super safe at night. Fantastic!

I haven't encountered such rude front desk staff in Australia in over ten years. The only reason I booked this hotel was because we're a family of five, bringing my parents from Melbourne to Sydney, and this hotel suite could accommodate us all. However, the service attitude was incredibly poor. A male manager in the dining area was super friendly to Caucasian guests but seemed very impatient when we simply asked where the cutlery was. The front desk lady even claimed we hadn't paid for breakfast, and in the end, demanded I show her my bank statement instead of verifying it herself. The sofa bed was also tiny; my 15-year-old brother, who's 1.8 meters tall, had his feet hanging off the end, and it creaked all night when he moved. There were also ants in the room. No slippers were provided either, so we had to go buy our own.

My stay happened to coincide with the National Day holiday, so the room rate was totally not worth it, haha. If you have a car and need to park in the underground garage, visibility is already poor at night, and the hotel didn't provide any guidance aside from telling us the location, plus there were no signs at the entrance, haha. I called ten times to get them to open the garage gate, but the front desk completely ignored the calls—no idea what they were doing. When we finally got upstairs, we found out there was only one person working at the front desk, haha. I guess we can only blame the hotel for that, talk about overworking your staff. Although they claim it's newly renovated, you can clearly tell it's an old building that's been given a makeover. Not recommended, will never stay here again.

The hotel has a great location in Sydney's Lower North Shore. Right around the corner is the Metro station, making it extremely quick and convenient to get to the city center and Chatswood. There is no extra staff to help with luggage, so it's basically a self-service setup. Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired—surfaces like tabletops and the bathroom vanity were covered in dust, and it's hard to tell if the carpets are vacuumed daily. At least the bedding and towels were fresh. Slippers are not provided, so you need to bring your own. The toilet got clogged, though maintenance was eventually sent to fix it. There was also a false fire alarm with a high-decibel broadcast that scared the kids next door into running out into the hallway crying. Soundproofing is terrible; late at night, some drunk youths next door were shouting and laughing loudly, which was very noisy and disturbed our sleep. At over ¥1500 a night, it's considered a relatively affordable Sydney hotel during China's National Day holiday, so you can't expect too much.

If you’re doing the Sydney Marathon, the hotel is basically next to the start line. The hotel is clear. The location is great, just a few minutes walk to Victoria Cross Station.

Run, this was the worst hotel experience of my life. It was so bad that I checked out at 5 AM and felt dazed for three days afterward. If I had known, I would have rather forfeited the room fee than endure such misery. 1. **Two-star service and facilities for a five-star price.** A comparable hotel, C, just two blocks away, is newer and £200-300 cheaper, with comfortable beds. I only ended up here because C was fully booked. On the same day, a newly opened international 5-star chain hotel in Paddington was the same price, offered warm service, stylish decor, and comfortable beds. This Rydges hotel simply isn't worth its price in any aspect. 2. **Hotel staff pushing trolleys and making noise from midnight to 1 AM, repeatedly waking guests.** The hotel offered no sincere apology, claiming that preparing supplies for the next day is standard procedure and unavoidable. If it's standard, then even more care should be taken to be quiet and avoid disturbing guests. After multiple complaints, the front desk said someone would follow up on compensation, but ultimately, all I got was a dismissive "it's unavoidable." Who are they trying to fool? 3. **Major structural flaw: a huge slope to get to the lobby with no direct elevator access unless you're driving.** Not luggage-friendly. Service is also a hit or miss. Sometimes you get polite staff who can't solve problems, other times they won't even look you in the eye. During check-in, the staff member was looking up information and could have called another colleague to help, but instead made guests wait for 10 minutes. If I hadn't had comparable hotels nearby, I would have thought this was the standard local level of service. The hotel staff clearly lacks consistent training. To Rydges: Slamming doors carelessly and making loud noises by your staff at midnight, waking up hotel guests multiple times during the night, is unacceptable. Replying to a complaint by saying “housekeeping work is unavoidable” is not an apology. If midnight housekeeping is a routine, then there's even more reason to be careful not to cause noise. I was so disturbed that I had to check out at 5 AM, having gotten no sleep, and caught the earliest flight out. This left me feeling unwell for the next three days. The inconvenience this caused and the unapologetic attitude are truly hurtful.
