This is our sixth visit to Felbrigg Lodge. We go back for the peace and quiet, the amazing food and the tranquil gardens. Everyone always makes us very welcome and we love to stay to further explore the wonderful Norfolk coast and countryside. This morning when I drew back the curtains at Felbrigg there was a baby deer and its mother a few yards from the bedroom window - very special! The birdsong was delightful too.

Booked in May, B&B one night, Dinner B&B 2nd night – table confirmed for Dinner for 7pm. Having advised we would arrive 4 / 4.30pm, arriving at 4pm we waited 45 minutes before someone came to reception to greet us. We’d rung the bell several times, and telephoned, but no response. Whilst we were waiting, 2 other couples arrived, and stood waiting with us. The greeting at reception was ‘who was first!’. We felt that we were frog marched to our accommodation (Willow Suite @ £225/night), and quickly pointed towards an A4 sheet displaying breakfast, and advised to tick what we would like, pop time and room name on the top, leave on reception desk and it would be delivered to our room next morning – both my husband and I clearly heard this instruction. We were meeting friends early that evening, West Runton, so briskly sought the whereabouts of the pool (agree with other comments on Tripadvisor that it didn’t smell too pleasant), and quickly used the toilet in the room before heading out. The toilet was dirty. Wee wee stains. Yuk. Should we have left then – yes. 45 minutes to check in, not a pleasant welcome, a dirty toilet. My husband & I have both worked in hospitality, and we understand that sometimes behind the scenes things don’t go to plan. That evening, showing our friends the Lodge webpage, we read that the restaurant was closed, but we had booked a 7pm dinner reservation for the following evening. We telephoned the lodge to double check the webpage info, and yes, no restaurant. So what were we going to do for our 25th Wedding anniversary meal! Disappointed. The Lodge owners did tell us that they had telephoned everyone to advise the restaurant was no longer available. I’ve checked my phone log and emails, and nothing from Felbrigg Lodge hotel. Back at the accommodation later that evening, on closer inspection, the fridge had mould in it, the place was dusty, dated décor, shabby, for £225/night would have expected a better selection of toiletries, shower screen & bathroom mirror covered in water stains (we found out why later), no towelling slippers, but we weren’t risking the hot tub anyway after seeing the rest of the uncleanliness. We’d already decided to check out the following morning. Dissatisfied. We’d ordered breakfast for the next day for 8am, ticked the A4 sheet of what we’d like, so proceeded to get ready to leave, and shower. Whilst my husband was showering, we then learnt why the bathroom mirror was covered in water stains. The shower spurted water from the side of the shower head, over the top of the shower screen, covering the electric lit mirror, and all over me standing at the basin. I had to change clothes. 8am we awaited our breakfast. 8.15, 8.20 still waiting. We saw a breakfast tray being delivered to another lodge. Maybe this place worked on being 45 minutes late with everything, as we’d waited 45 mins to get checked in. 8.45 still no breakfast, so I telephoned and was sharply told that our breakfast was wai

The first thing you notice when you arrive is the birdsong . We met the owner who welcomed us into Hedgehog lodge . The wood burning stove had left a pleasant aroma in the room and the log basket was reassuringly full Everywhere you looked uplifted the senses Primroses under the towering trees over your own private conservatory . a little stream meandering round the front of the lodge Huge French windows in the bedroom to lie in bed and admire the woodland all around you Just perfect

Peaceful. Non corporate. Haven of trees, nature, forest walks. Lovely warm pool. Wonderful accommodation - like log cabin luxe - or house rooms with views. Wonderful staff (family run). Mature and restful ambience. Well equipped to BYO or book a table or can order food for your cabin/ room. Loved the leaves floating down to the hot tub while listening to the trees and the owls. Rare space catering for mature, quieter people. Very much appreciated Philip and Dee Dee, looking forward to returning soon.

This is an amazing place to stay. Extremely quirky but surrounded by beautiful gardens/woodland. A few miles from the North Norfolk coast (Cromer/Sheringham). En-suite room was extremely comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast delicious!

My wife and I stayed in the Sycamore Lodge for one night as we had a wedding in Norfolk. It’s a beautiful place in amongst the trees - like a Center Parcs type forest retreat. Phil greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room. He was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and had a nice big bathroom and had everything we needed. I used the swimming pool which is a very nice bonus. Heated and pretty big! You can book an hour slot so you have the pool to yourself. Phil even let my wife borrow his wife’s hairbrush as my wife realised she had left it at home - which was so kind. It was a lovely stay. Would go back again and stay for a long weekend.

First time we stayed here and probably the last! The room was nice but very dated and old fashioned, we had water supplied but had already been opened……. Our room was the walnut suite and the bed was amazing and so comfy and was lovely and clean. We booked for the hot tub but was disappointed as it was tiny and around a path which was dirty and muddy and bits of fir tree all in the hot tub and not secluded as you can see the breakfast room so we were unable to use it in the morning! It said slippers were provided to walk to hot tub and pool but there were none and the dressing gown provided was a size small and my husband is 6 ft and muscular so was quite a site! The hot tub is downstairs from the room again not ideal or what we were expecting! The pool was freezing absolutely freezing! We booked it for our use only which was nice but couldn’t stand the temperature but the hot tub was nice again it’s so dirty as all surrounding areas are covered in tree bits and mud! Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. We paid £189 but did not get the deposit back which was taken by phone! It was a lot of money for what we got compared to other places we have stayed with hot tub.

Motorbike tour Norfolk - arrived in a storm and the gentleman showed us to our room and gave us access the a dry room for kit - we were soaked !! Room was lovely and very very comfortable!!!! Clean and spacious The only downside was the bathroom was above the boiler room and the bathroom had a strong smell of oil fumes - kept windows open and bathroom closed which helped Booked a private swimming session which was lovely The grounds are beautiful and well kept Riding the motorbikes into the grounds was not a problem , the drive has gravel but slow and steady we went so no problem Lots of parking - I would say it is motorbike friendly just move a patch of gravel to put the stand down
