Visited during the Easter holidays with friends. We stayed in Rivendale which was modern, lovely and clean inside. The hot tub was a perfect temperature to enjoy when we arrived. We found it to be a perfect base to enjoy Rutland and to visit Leicester. Would have liked more towels and the lodge decking needs cleaning/ weeding otherwise perfect!

Just had a lovely stay at ranksbough lodge weather was lovely the down side to it all was the decking outside was disgusting could really do with a good clean. Weeds growing through it .A good sweep wouldn't go a miss to get rid of twigs, with the weather being so nice it really let the lodge down as it's so quiet and peaceful you just want to chill outside.

Beautiful lodge. Spotless and had all the equipment you would need. Hot tub also spotless. Decking could probably do with a jet wash but I expect that at this time of year it hard to keep clean and wasn’t awful by any stretch of the imagination. Overall a lovely relaxing weekend

Ok so… it’s just a caravan not a lodge. It was a lot smaller than I thought. Sofa was disgusting not going to lie! I refused to sit on it for the week. Gas oven took double the amount of time to cook anything. Everything else was ok. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great. I wouldn’t bother with a hot tub as the jets were rubbish and personally my lay z spa is better. Staff are friendly tho (if you see them) lovely quite site. However I wouldn’t recommend it for children as there isn’t anything on site apart from an ice cream man comes around every other day.

We stayed in a Marlow lodge with a hot tub and it was lovely. I’d say it is more a caravan than a lodge but was big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. The site itself is beautiful and really peaceful and is very well maintained. The staff were all really nice and the hot tub was serviced every day. Our only negative point is that it’s not great for families with young children. There is not a great deal for them to do on the site (they are 6 and 7 years old) and when we took them around the site on their scooters one afternoon an older lady in a lodge told us that we “shouldn’t be doing that here as it’s not fair on the older people”. This really offended us, our children are well behaved and respectful, were not being loud, and were just trying to enjoy their holiday. It didn’t specify anywhere on our booking that the site is for couples or older people, it said it was family friendly. Unfortunately this really put a dampener on our break and I don’t think we would return again based on this. It made us feel quite unwelcome. It’s certainly a lovely site but did not feel family friendly.

The site has no amenities. The lodge was clean however under the cushions on the sofa it's dirty. The hallway to the bedrooms is not hat wide and you have to be careful when opening the toilet door or the main bedroom. The beds are very small amd my husband who is under 6ft had his feet hanging out. The beds in the other two rooms is very narrow and would need something to stop children falling out. The beds and sofa are very uncomfortable and gave us bad back to the extent we cut our holiday short by 2 days. The lodge would be fine for a short break but not a full week. It's the smallest Lodge we have stayed in and would only recommend it for 2 people.
