Poshtel ★★★★
"The room was very clean and comfortable, but be aware that our room's window didn't offer any view and couldn't be opened for ventilation. It was fine for a one-night stay, and the facilities were quite new with unique decor. The breakfast restaurant also had a great ambiance."
289 Midway Motel ★★★
"the motel is fully furnished. Simple but complete. just that the water flow on bathroom quite small."
Brydone Hotel Oamaru ★★★
"The staff was very friendly and helpful. Off street parking. Built in restaurant and cafe. Rooms are a bit dated (bathrooms have been renovated) but still very clean and tidy nonetheless"
Oamaru Backpackers ★★
"Despite being a backpacker hostel, the cleanliness was impeccable. I particularly enjoyed the small garden at the back!"
Casa Nova House ★★★★★
"This is a special place to stay in a special town. Warm and friendly hosts, exceptional attention to detail, best minibar ever, luxurious bed, linen and towels, superb breakfast, on-site quality restaurant and interesting history. We have no hesitation in recommending Casanova House and are thrilled we were able to stay here. A fabulous experience."
Colonial Lodge Motel ★★★★
"Ugh, this place was by far the worst experience of our entire trip. Not only was it dirty, but the facilities were old and lacking – there was hardly any toilet paper! The electric kettle didn't even have a wall socket, and we had big flies visiting us at night. It was as basic as a youth hostel in China. Definitely do not recommend."
AAA Thames Court Motel ★★★★
"Very cost-effective, convenient transportation, close to the supermarket, relatively quiet, large room, but quite cold at night, need to turn on the electric blanket, the heating will automatically stop when it reaches a certain temperature"
Criterion Boutique Hotel
"The hosts were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived. The food in the restaurant was excellent, however the hosts let their business down by not asking us if we wanted drinks. Hospitality runs on drink profits right? The hotel was basically clean but a lot of dusting needs doing. The kitchen or whatever on the first floor needs sorting out somehow - it is a jumble and there in no information about guests use of it. The toilets upstairs ran out of toilet paper and I had to go downstairs to get a new roll. The bed was very comfortable. I just think more could be done to make the Hotel more profitable for the hosts."
The Mews Oamaru ★★★★
"Very nice room! like! ! ! The boss and his wife are very nice, and the sanitary conditions are also very good. This town is really simple and comfortable~ Love it so much! ! ! !"

Pen-y-bryn
"We were blown away by this wonderful Art Nouveau house built in the 1880s and only ever owned by 4 owners. It has wonderful furniture much of it bought by the original owner and added to by the subsequent ones. It is like staying in a private house, not least because the hosts/owners, James and James, greet you personally and are present throughout your stay. One James does the cooking and the other the gardening, producing all the fruit and vegetables. You dine with the other guests as you would in private house. James’s cooking is excellent. Again breakfast is with the other guests with wonderful homemade jams and eggs any way you like. All in all a great visit."
Northstar Motel
"The location is convenient, with a large parking lot. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, but the beds are too small."
Ascot Oamaru Motel
"I do not recommend staying here. First, the hotel facilities are too outdated; it feels like it hasn't been renovated in years, and there isn't even a hairdryer. Most unacceptable is that besides toilet paper, they don't even provide basic tissues. The hotel is also located on a street and is quite ugly. It doesn't offer breakfast as advertised, and there are no places to eat nearby. The front desk said we had to go to the city center for a meal. There was only one elderly woman at the front desk, who was so old that even speaking a few words was difficult. One night might be bearable, but I really don't recommend it."
White Oasis
The Nest on Till
"It is lovely home and well decorated. Clean and feel like home stay. Well equipped with kitchen amenities and washing machine and dryer. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Whole house having heater except the walk way to toilet and laundry room."
