"Brenda was a fantastic host, anticipating our every need! Her partner was out of town and she managed her home like a complete professional. The rooms were all unique and the quality of linens, furniture and even the incredible wall paper was impressive. Her breakfast was generous and of high quality. We slept incredibly well despite the frigid temperatures outside. Brenda also booked lunch and penguin reservations for us, and followed up on behalf of a less than desired outcome from a local restaurant. I would highly recommend Casa Nova and have recommended it throughout our travels in NZ, especially to other B and B owners on the South Island. Omaru is an unusual and quirky spot and we are thrilled we were able to stay and explore for multiple days. Highly recommended!"

The hotel's location is great, very convenient for all attractions, all within a 10-minute drive."

"This hotel is steeped in history and thoughtful design. From the decor and furnishings to the amenities, you can feel the owner's dedication and commitment to every detail. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The lobby is locked after 8 PM as there's no one on duty, but there are other entrances to access the hotel. The location is excellent, with a large supermarket nearby. It's within walking distance of the Victorian Historic Precinct, and along the way, you'll find many historical sites and unique small shops. The hotel doesn't have private parking, but street parking nearby is free from 5 PM until 9:30 AM the next day. If you need to park longer, it costs one New Zealand Dollar per hour. Breakfast primarily consists of simple pastries, cold cuts, fruit, and hot and cold beverages. Overall, it was a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Oamaru!"

"Good hostel. Reasonable price and well equipped facilities. I would stay here if I come Oamaru again. One bad thing. There is no front desk. So guests always have to be aware of PIN that lets you get inside (even their room). So I had to bring my mobile even when I went to the toilet. If I had forgotten my room PIN, I couldn't open the door of my room."

The bathroom was the best bathroom of our entire trip through New Zealand. The products were my favourite New Zealand brand. "In New Zealand, I usually bring my own towels. This hotel's towels are all blue 😆, which made me a bit hesitant to use them. Guys probably wouldn't care though 🤪. There aren't many choices in Oamaru, and this one is decent. Since it's an electric water heater, everyone needs to space out their showers a bit, otherwise, those who shower later will only get cold water."
