We, a retired couple who don't speak English, stayed in this kind of backpacker hotel for the first time (mainly because it is close to the penguin base, a 10-minute walk, and the key is that we also want to experience it). We checked in by ourselves (we checked in very smoothly with the help of Ctrip customer service). It was the first time to experience this kind of backpacker hotel for young people. Unexpectedly, the environment was good facing the sea, and the linens were very clean. We booked a double sea view room and thought it had an independent bathroom, but it didn't matter. The public one was also very clean and hygienic! The public viewing living room was great, the kitchen was great, and there were simple free ingredients. That night, we saw several little blue penguins on the beach. The blue was super beautiful. It was super cute to see someone sneaking around! Taking pictures of penguins and interacting with them on the beach shore road left an unforgettable impression! The two elderly people played until 10 o'clock in the evening before returning to the hotel. That night, there were 6 young people in the hotel, 4 foreigners, 1 Korean beauty, and 1 Chinese young man (who has been in New Zealand for 8 years and came to play alone during the holiday). It was very happy to chat with him, and thanked him for giving us a pack of Master Kong instant noodles and an egg! It is recommended to live on the 2nd floor. Living on the 1st floor is a wooden building, and people walking on the 2nd floor will hear it! But it is very quiet when you sleep, and it is super beautiful to take pictures of the starry sky at night and the sunrise in the morning!

The owner of this hotel showed us to our room as we booked our room last min and we checked in after the hours. She was super friendly and helpful!
The room and bathroom are spotless!
I was fascinated by the collectables and antiques displayed in the hotel - it’s totally like a museum which is amazing!
Staff are friendly :)
We enjoyed our stay at Poshtel very much!
Facilities: The facilities are good;
Hygiene: Very clean and tidy;
Environment: The environment is very comfortable;
Service: In fact, there is no service at all!
But I will continue to choose to stay in the hotel next time!
I went to see the rooms set by Penguin. I was a bit worried about staying in the motel for the first time, but the location and the environment are good. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the town center. It’s convenient to have breakfast at McDonald’s next door. It’s 30 minutes walk to see Blue Penguin. About minutes.
The hotel is on the side of the road, the hotel's glass door is very soundproof and not noisy at all. There are kitchenware, tableware, stove, microwave oven, toaster, refrigerator, very suitable for cooking by yourself.
Go to Omalu to see the penguins, a motel found on Trip.com , just on the roadside, there is a parking lot, very convenient, the room is fully equipped, clean and tidy, ten minutes drive from the penguin landing and returning to the center, good, the price is also right.
Very close to Highway 1! There is a large supermarket 15 minutes' walk away where you can buy food. There is a full set of kitchenware and tableware in the room, which is very convenient! Note: The parking space number is the same as the room number. The boss is also in the courtyard and doesn't look very friendly!
The location is OK. It only takes 8 minutes to drive to the place where you can watch the blue penguins returning to their nests at night. There are also many choices of places to eat around. The room is very clean and it is quite quiet at night. The only thing I am not satisfied with is the attitude of the motel owner. When we checked out and were about to drive away, he caught up with us and asked why we had an extra bed. I explained to him that the bed that the child chose at the beginning was not comfortable for him to sleep in, so he changed it. He used this as an excuse to charge us an additional cleaning fee of 25 New Zealand dollars, saying that it increased his workload. If we were not in a hurry, I would really argue with him. There was only 15 New Zealand dollars in change in my bag, and he said 15 was fine. It was obvious that he was extorting money. The quality is really poor.
