Yanagawa is a peaceful and beautiful water town. This is an old-style hot spring hotel with older but clean facilities. Rich breakfast and attentive service. The hotel gives away a coupon of 1,000 yen per person, which can be used to participate in the river cruise activities organized by the hotel. Great!

We enjoyed our stay at Garden Terrace Saga, with its modern rooms and superb service. We arrived after a long day of travels around Saga prefecture. Please note that there is an entrance via Shinei Dori Street, Dive through the red building tunnel, across a short bridge and make a left turn, the hotel is on your right. After a quick check-in process, we were escorted to our room on the 6th floor. Our agent had booked us the honeymoon suite and it was absolutely lovely. After a brief introduction, she left us to our own devices. Upon entry, two large double beds occupied the double ceiling area. This room was at the apex of the Isosceles-triangle-shaped hotel. Beds had clean and smooth sheets and was super comfortable. Bedside charging points are in built into the side table area. A large flat screen TV is mounted on the wall in front of the bed. Mostly local TV channels though! Walking beyond the beds is the make-up table with comfy chair and large mirror. The closest is behind this and you can find slippers, bath robes and the room safe here. There is an exit door behind the floor to ceiling mirrors here too, with staircase leading down. I believe the housekeeping uses this to get into the room. Beware that the door was not locked when we found it. Some added security here for guests would be ideal. Moving back to the main door, and to the right is a small toilet area, separate from the shower/bathroom area. The standard Japanese toilet and small sink is housed here. if you walk to the left as you approach the main door, there is a large sitting area with comfy sofa, and another TV. There is also a 6 seater dining table. The hotel was really good to us and gave us a box of cakes that was left in the man-height fridge. The hotel also notified the Teppanyaki restaurant that I had a bottle bubbly from a previous stay in the fridge. Thus restaurant flipped the beverage menu to the champagne page we were given the menus. We liked this sharing of information! There is tea and coffee making facilities here too. Wifi is standard throughout the hotel and it was pretty fast and strong.. The bathroom is right behind the living room TV. Double sinks and loads to amenities. There was also a bottle of bathing sake for guest use. A rain shower and bath tub is connected to the bathroom. One can also exit the bathroom and into the enclosed balcony area [or go out via the living room]. where there is a large seating area is ready to welcome guests, as well as a jacuzzi. I went down to the gym on the two mornings we overnighted here. The gym is small and narrow with very select machines. One multi function weight machine, two light dumbbells station and one treadmill and bicycle/elliptical [?] machine. There is a small swimming pool and a Sauna cabin next to it. The location is good, you can directly see Saga Station and the bus stop, that is, the check-in procedure is a bit cumbersome. After all, the kind of password that no one hotel wants. Of course, there is also a link to fill in the message online in advance, but anyway, the Skype call is a bit emmm. Because it is apartment-style, the space is relatively large, the twin bed is quite comfortable, and the pillow is the type of hardness I like. When you leave the room the next day, you have to scan the code on the door to check out, otherwise you can't open the door.

We came to Yanagawa to see and ride on the old canals and stayed at this authentic Japanese hotel for a night . Nice place right beside the canal where you can see the boats going by. There were three of us so we had a big room, one part Western with two single beds the other part was a Japanese tatami mat room where the staff made up a bed on the floor while we were at dinner. Booking in was easy and staff super polite which is the normal in Japan. Before dinner we went to the hot springs bath and relaxed in the lovely hot waters. We had booked in for dinner 6.30 pm. in the main dining room , we went in the Yukata’s that the hotel provided, very relaxing. Dinner was a set menu, typical Japanese food, about ten little bowls containing different items, miso soup, different Sashimi’s, chicken , pickles , eel, which this area is famous for and another lovely small fried fish, plenty to fill you up and for sweets a huge piece of water melon. The room did have a bath and shower but didn’t use them as we used the hot spring baths, there was free wifi, a safe and good TV. Slept well. First thing in the morning we went to the outside hot bath before going and enjoying a smorgasbord breakfast. In the Rockpool baths they supply all you need , body soap , shampoo, conditioner, hairdryers etc, always a nice experience. Typical Japanese breakfast , no cereals but plenty to choose from. We had trout and puffer fish, plenty of veggies, the scrambled egg was scrumptious. Plenty of fruit, mango , orange and delicious pineapple. While we went of doing a boat ride on the canals the hotel held our luggage for us, very handy. The hotel also has a good gift shop. We enjoyed our stay, gives you a real Japanese hotel experience.

Friendly staffs, clean rooms. Right beside Saga station which have a lot of restaurants around. Complimentary breakfast provided and there is quite a lot of choices. Can wash your laundry at level 7. Only accept 100 yen coins for laundry payment, just change with the front desk if needed.

Accommodation １ On the day, there were two sets of towels, yukata, etc. ... From the next day, everything was not set properly, and even if the hot water in the room did not come out at 21 o'clock at night, it was 15 minutes! If you talk to the front desk, if you are in the living room, the large communal bath is open, so please go there. There is no hot water the next morning! I stayed for 6 nights and there was no hot water for 4 days. The hot water in the large communal bath is only lukewarm! The front desk is on the 1st floor １ from the 2nd floor, you can only go up the stairs! This hotel is a barrier-free tourist hotel ... 500 yen breakfast bad rice is not delicious! weekdays, 5,000 yen, Saturdays, 6,000 yen, the worst experience for the first time.

I visited Saga alone in May 19. I usually stay at a guesthouse on a solo trip, but there is no guesthouse in Saga City. So if you go alone, you will definitely stay here. * Accessibility: It is close to Saga Station and Saga Station Bus Center, so it is easy to walk around, and when booking on the official website, the bike was also free of charge 24 hours. * Atmosphere: It is not big and cozy. However, the room is separated from the room for women and the tatami room, but the common room for men and women is separated only by the living room (?) and the curtain, so it can be weak to noise. I came to Kyushu at the end of the year and the beginning of the year and looked for a hotel near Fukuoka Tenjin to go to Dazaifu on New Year's Day, but I was here because it was expensive and Yanagawa was cheaper than Tenjin, and the train flight was good. １ night ８３００ yen was cheaper than the center of Fukuoka, and it was convenient for sightseeing within １ hours by train for the distance to go to Dazaifu the next day. It is a few minutes walk from the station to the hotel (the opposite direction to the shuttle bus stop down the boat). The room was also very good for the price.

The room is quite old and the accommodation of women is severe. It seems that cleaning is only appropriate and visible. I left Saga for the first time. It was near the moat of Saga Castle, quiet, and the building facilities, beds and living rooms had a history, but the linens were clean, so it was also tasteful and there was no discomfort. I would have been grateful if the front desk staff were small and the hospitality was a little more substantial, but it may be unavoidable because it is the end of the corona.
