Waidroka Bay Resort

The waidroka bay resort was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I was fortunate to come across this incredibly beautiful place through my PADI certification. Not only did I feel thoroughly cared for from the moment I reached out (2 days before arrival), but the staff’s attentiveness and support began before I arrived. Giving me suggestions on places to complete my PADI confined pool dives prior to arrival. Once at Waidroka, the scenary and grounds are well-kept and located on a gorgeous bay/inlet. Everyone was so kind and attentive to me. From checking in to checking out, it was the perfect trip. I completed my PADI cert with Jamie as my instructor. She was caring, supportive and reassuring, always giving me the belief that I could complete the dives. So much so, that the day after I completed my cert, I did the shark dives at Pacific Harbour nearby! Although Jamie was my instructor, I interacted daily and had wonderful conversations and received great tips from everyone at the resort from Ops Managers (Beth and Sandy) to other instructors (Grant, Tim, Simi). Jim was our boat captain, and i had the utmost respect for his ability to guide us to the appropriate dive site. I learned so much about medicinal plants in the area with our medicine walk, fijian culture with Taniela, and how to effectively dive with the whole dive team. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were expertly prepared, and the food was perfectly cooked. Special shoutout to the chefs at the incredible 3 course dinners we received and the best tomato bisque I have ever had. I would strongly recommend looking at Waidroka Bay Resort if you are looking to dive or surf in Fiji, what an unbelievable experience and entire staff at the resort.

Waidroka Resort in Fiji is a dream come true for anyone who loves diving! The water is so clear you can see everything, and there's tons of cool marine life and beautiful coral reefs. The staff are super friendly and helpful, making sure you have everything you need for your underwater adventure and your time on land :) Both the Fijian staff and staff from all over were kind and great conversationalists after we were tired from 3-a-day dives :) The dive sites are out of this world, with colorful coral, turtles, and even pilot whales right there in the crystal-clear water. Experienced divemasters will guide you safely through unforgettable experiences like swimming with sharks. On our non dive days we kayaked and also took a day trip in to Suva. There are several adventure excursions you can do from the resort and the staff have lots of info on it. We came as a couple but loved it so much we are planning to return with our small children at some point -- the staff mentioned that children are welcome and have a ton of fun playing with neighborhood kids and discovering around the water and forest. The resort offers babysitting as well and will tailor the menus for kids if needed. I highly recommend Waidroka Resort. It's a place where you can create memories that will last a lifetime.

The Waidroka staff went above and beyond for our dive trip to Fiji! The Staff all knew our names by the second day!! A perfect blend of attentiveness and camaraderie! Unobstructed views of oceanfront, extensive beautiful grounds! It was quiet and peaceful! The Kava ceremony on the last night was Epic! The staff sang harmony with ukelele and guitars! It could have been a recording! Young men from the a nearby town performed for us in traditional outfits. They were so exuberant, having fun, and had us join in the dancing! The shark dives were phenomenal, with Bull, Lemon and Nurse sharks coming to within 10-15 feet of us! It was like it was practiced! Almost surreal. Dive staff went over the procedures carefully the night before the 2 dives, so we felt confident on what to do. It was amazing to be able to observe sharks that close for approx. 20 minutes each dive! Rooms were large & air-conditioned, with large windows and ceiling fans! Grant and Sam, my dive masters, were knowledgeable and attentive! Ben, our captain, was always helpful and they all worked beautifully as a team. Pampered help on with my fins going in and one of them was underwater taking our fins off as we got onto the ladder getting back into the dive boat! The meals were exemplary! Beautifully presented and tasty! And the kitchen staff/wait staff always had smiles for us, I wish I could remember all their names, they always remembered mine! You could order anything for Breakfast and Lunch from the ample menu. You had 2 choices of 3-course options at Dinner, one being vegetarian. They had you pick your choice for lunch at breakfast and your choice for dinner at lunch! Dan was always smiling and greeting us at the main pavilion where we had our meals, attentive to any needs of the guests. Manager Beth or Dive Master Jamie came every evening at dinner to talk to us individually about our activities on the next day! Very professional and organized! Always available to listen or help! Diving, Surf lessons, massages, kayaking, paddle boarding, basket making demonstration, medicine walk, swimming, bed hammocks under shade… it was paradise! I highly recommend Waidroka Resort and will recommend it to all my friends! I wouldn’t hesitate to come back! Waidroka would be my first choice in Fiji!!

There isn't enough to say about this amazing resort. We had an awesome time and the staff were amazing every single day. From the Dive crew, boat crew, resort staff everyone exceeded our expectations. Definitely would retun to this resort again and again.

We just spent a week at Waidroka Resort with our family, including three older teenagers. As we prefer a peaceful, more relaxed atmosphere over bustling resorts, Waidroka was the perfect choice. Set in a stunning location surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the resort offered an idyllic setting. The staff were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The resort caters to a variety of interests, with activities suited to all levels of adventure, from scuba diving and snorkeling to surfing and stand-up paddleboarding. Highlights included river tubing, surfing and the Beqa lagoon shark dive. We will leave here feeling full relaxed and replenished. The pool area is the perfect place to laze away the afternoons. Will definitely be back!

Wananavu!!! Fantastic. As a family of 4 with 2 late teens in tow, this was not the place we would normally pick, but our trusted travel agent suggested it and, on checking the place on line and sussing out the reviews we went for it. So glad we did. After 5 days doing very little on Matamanoa Island the second part of our trip was more about getting amongst it and that was Waidroka. It's a super chilled and relaxing environment with a strong sense of community. The seaside location is secluded, nestled in the rain forest. The staff are very helpful, friendly and always willing to do what they can to make your stay memorable. Clean and tidy, comfortable. We put our two kids through their open water dive certificates before we left Perth, Australia, and enjoyed coral dives and, the highlight of our trip to Fiji, two shark dives. Wow! The dive masters and boat captain made us feel safe and at ease. Great fresh and healthy food food. Super friendly staff. Relaxed and chilled vibe. Clean and comfortable with a sense of freedom to do as you please. Great place to meet people if you want, or you can take the time on your own as you choose. Accessible to other activities, and we feel the experience with River Tubing Fiji, as well as Zip Fiji were well and truly worth it. Both were great with the river tubing a must. I arrived a bit unwell and they went out of there way to help my recovery. Sota Tale... see you again. Thank you Waidroka Bay Resort.
