"This is a simple but delightful place with of course the most amazing view of the mighty Mekong River. Most people are just passing through either up river to Thai border or down river to Luang Prabang, so the town does have a bit of a feel of a transport ‘node’. We stayed 2 nights so could relax and enjoy the pool and views and a visit to the wonderful elephant sanctuary (separate review). Rooms are simple, clean with epic views. It’s all a bit noisy with most people departing for their 6.30am boat, but that is the nature of the place. Food was simple and delicious (all meals) and all the staff trying so hard to make your stay special. So we gave it 5* reflecting what it is and where it is."

"Amazing stay at this guest house. Used as stopover for laos slow boat. They arranged for a car to pick us up from where we were dropped off which we were not expecting but was nice after a long day. Room was really nice and had a lovely breakfast in the morning."

"Luxury hotel in the Laotian wilderness. We arrived on a slow boat and spent New Year's Eve there. Unfortunately, no festive event was held at the hotel, which was a little disappointing, because there is absolutely nothing to do in the village. More about traveling around Laos in the MarsyTravel tg channel About the hotel itself: – it is located farthest from the pier, upon arrival you are greeted by an electric car, but then if you want to take a walk to the center of the village you will have to walk through the dark and hills for about 15 minutes - hotel on the mountain, there will be a little exercise to go to the pool or restaurant -breakfast is delicious and generous -wonderful bungalow with great view, but limited supply of hot water -the water in the unheated pool is quite cold"

"The slow boat from Luang Prabang stops off at Pak Beng befor continuing the next day. This hostel is close to the Mekong river. The dorm was clean and quiet. You have to walk through the reception to access the toilets and shower. It is next to the main road and they close the shutter at night for security. In the morning the roosters wake you up to make sure you do not miss the boat which leaves at 08:30 for Thailand."

"Clean, comfy, plenty of toilets and showers and great view. + Amazing view from balcony/landing area just outside the room or the sunset and also great to sit at a look at the stars. Everything was great, you can even see the elephants in the morning while you have breakfast. free pickup"
