Bus Stop Paraty

My partner and I just enjoyed a beautiful 4 night stay at Bus Stop Paraty. An incredible location, exceptionally accommodating hosts and lovely “rooms”. Fresh Breakfast delivered to our door every morning was also a real bonus. The view was exceptional come cloud, rain or sunshine. Very glad we did read the reviews as you do need to be somewhat physically fit. We managed fine without but would recommend a car. Ubers were fairly 50/50 it would take at least 30 minutes for a pick-up. The bus worked great but only drops you at the very bottom of the hill and the walk up is not to be underestimated. Having said that we got around absolutely fine and if you want somewhere a little bit further removed this is to be expected! The beaches at the very bottom of the hill/mountain were the best we saw in Paraty. Good restaurants / “beach clubs” with sun beds etc. Uber to Paraty town: 30 - 70 reals Uber to nearest beach: 10 - 30 reals

Ok, so first of all the pictures don't show how beautiful this place actually is. It's so idealistic and peaceful. There is definitely a strong positive energy coming from the founders of this place. We had a great pleasure to meet them in person. They put so much love into Bus Stop Paraty. It is cozy, stylish, it is nice if you want to spend some days in more remote vibes. If you are a celebrity, that is for sure a nice place to stay. It's was perfect for us, a family with two teen daughters. You are living on the top of the hill, with amazing view, you are very close to Paraty, like 15 mins of very beautiful ride. It can be a bit hard to climb last 150 meters, because of the angle of the road. But people, who run the place will always assist you with this little quest. The nature around is just insane. With coco and banana trees all around, and lots of flowers. Birds sing and their variety blows my mind. We could sleep with open windows, facing the ocean. Had a fantastic breakfast - English breakfast meeting Brazilian. If you are not familiar with the location we can recommend you taking a boat trip from Paraty. Visiting restaurant of North-East food called - Quintal de Mãe. Visit Trindade this place is treasure, has so much secrets. Also we absolutely loved the beach called Paratymirim, and the most impressive in our opinion - Praia de Fazenda. Its huge, its flat, the sand is just perfect, the waves a perfect to start surfing.

We were picked up by Clive, the owner, a bit downhill from their property, from where he joined us driving to the top of the hill. A bit steep in the last 200m, but then we were awarded with the most spectacular views of the island dotted bay of Paraty, wow! Also the reception area with wooden deck is fantastic, Brazilian architecture, decorated with European antiquities, very interesting. Also the rooms were nice and clean, offering only nature sounds, birds singing in the morning as your alarm clock! Breakfast was another delicious treat by amazing Lena, with fruits and home made jams, all from their garden. A pity we only had 1 night at this beautiful retreat in the middle of the lush Atlantic rainforest, however still minutes away from the nearest beach (Prainha) and only 10-15 minutes driving to Paraty historic town 👍👍 Loved it!

Travelling with kids is never easy and the space and beauty that was offered by Lena & Clive was great for us, especially for 3 days at the end of a longer 2 week trip we had taken. It is clear the care and attention that has gone into the chalets themselves with their interiors as well as the curated gardens. The kids and adults loved it. Breakfast was an amazing time and if we weren’t off to enjoy programmed day trips in this beautiful part of the world we would have spent more time enjoying them. Thanks to Lena and Clive for a fantastic few days.
