A perfect guesthouse! It's spotless, comfortable, and the service is outstanding. The location is easy to find and convenient for getting around. The room itself is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for photos! Everything is clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and there's excellent natural light. The host is super nice and incredibly attentive to guests' needs ❤️. The attention to detail made for a wonderfully comfortable stay. I highly recommend it! Definitely worth a five-star recommendation!

I had a very pleasant stay at 沙溪归尘 and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shaxi who is looking for a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully run homestay. Room & Facilities The house is very clean and well maintained — everything feels new and well cared for. My room was cozy and comfortable, and the bed was especially nice, which helped me rest well. One thing I really appreciated was that the room even had a washing machine, which is a big plus for longer trips. The garden is also lovely and adds to the calm, relaxed atmosphere of the place. Breakfast & Thoughtful Touches Breakfast was prepared by the owner, and the 米线 (mixian) was honestly the best I had during my entire Yunnan trip — comforting, well-balanced, and made with care. Before bedtime, the owner even brought us a warm glass of milk 🥛, which was such a thoughtful and heart-warming gesture. Location & Morning Mist at 玉津桥 One important thing to note for travelers who plan to catch the morning mist or sunrise at 玉津桥: the homestay does not provide early-morning transfer services, only after 9:00am. The homestay is about 1.5km from 玉津桥, so it’s important to arrange your own transport in advance (for example, 小黄车). I learned this a bit late — at around 7:30am — and almost missed the sunrise timing. Walking there in the early morning was very cold and takes about 30minutes for 1.5km. Luckily, I after walked for a while I met a very kind local let’s call him “小白车师傅” who had just dropped his child at school near the homestay. He generously gave me a free ride to the bridge. Thanks to him, I managed to make it in time. Minor Miscommunication At check-in, I was told there would be unlimited transfers to Shaxi Ancient Town, so I assumed that an early drop-off closer to the town (and then walking to the bridge) might be possible. However, in the morning, the owner needed to stay back to prepare breakfast and couldn’t leave. This was a small miscommunication, and it would be helpful if early-morning transport limitations were clarified more clearly in advance. Overall Impression Other than this minor issue, my stay at 沙溪归尘 was truly pleasant. The cleanliness, comfort, homemade breakfast, and thoughtful details made it a very warm and memorable experience. I would still happily recommend this homestay and would consider staying again — just with early transport planned ahead next time.

This guesthouse has a story to tell. There's a 530-year-old ancient tree right by the entrance, home to a family of squirrels. As soon as I entered the room, I found a pair of chestnut-dyed cloth squirrels placed on the bed. Lying on the third-floor bed, the old tree glowed with life under the setting sun. The indigo-dyed soft couch on the terrace made me fall in love with Yunnan's sunshine, and the abundant flowers and plants everywhere showed the owner's passion for life. The guesthouse manager and the young lady's tea and dishes were unforgettable; that elegant, down-to-earth charm makes me want to return to this place again and again.

The inn is very quiet, the surrounding countryside is very beautiful, parking is convenient, and it is very convenient to go to the ancient town and Pioneer Bookstore!

Our stay at Shuao Xunshan Yiye Rural Life Homestay was truly unforgettable. Nestled in a serene rural setting, it offers a perfect escape from the busy city, surrounded by nature and peaceful scenery. The rooms are beautifully designed—simple yet elegant, very clean, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail reflects a thoughtful blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. What stood out most was the warm hospitality. The hosts were genuinely welcoming and made the stay feel personal and special, always ready to help with anything we needed. The host will send you to ShaXi ancient town and fetch you back. One of the best ancient town we had visited during this trip. If you’re looking for a quiet, authentic countryside experience with comfort and heart, this place is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

The accommodation experience was excellent! We stayed two nights in Shaxi. The guesthouse was incredibly close to the town center, just a short walk from the core scenic area. It had a lively atmosphere but was very quiet. The owner even upgraded our room for free. The bedding was excellent and very comfortable. We didn't have the suction cups for our contact lenses, and the owner kindly lent us some. The guesthouse also had electric scooters, making getting around very convenient. Our room had a window overlooking a local family's courtyard, just like in a TV drama where the heroine opens her window to see the hero's house. And lastly, there was a very cute cat. It waited outside our room in the morning and rushed in as soon as we opened the door. We could pet it freely; it was very well-behaved.

It was super convenient to get back to the hotel after exploring the ancient town. The design is really impressive, with a natural wood and Song Dynasty-inspired aesthetic that perfectly matches Shaxi's rustic charm. The courtyard with its flowing water, wooden corridors, and the gentle, Zen-like atmosphere as soon as you open the door is just lovely 🍃. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bedding was so soft, and the bathroom facilities were convenient and clean. After a shower, curling up in bed and watching 'Meet Yourself' just melted away all the day's fatigue. There's 24-hour butler service and afternoon tea upon check-in – sipping tea, listening to the wind, and watching the fish play in the pond amidst the misty atmosphere was truly relaxing 🐟. Waking up early, enjoying breakfast, and then just gazing out the window at the scenery, listening to the wind and rain, is truly living that slow-paced 'wind-filled' life.

A beautiful guesthouse with a lovely and serene inner courtyard and modern, renovated accommodations and facilities! Shaxi is not large, so from this guesthouse location, we were able to easily walk around the streets of Shaxi. Perfect location! It's in the heart of the village, so from where our driver dropped us off (our previous guesthouse in Dali helped us arrange a carpool to Shaxi), we still had to walk around ~7-10 minutes. The streets of Shaxi are the cobblestone type, so it wasn't easy to bring our heavy luggage over (needed to carry it by hand, which was strenuous, tiring, and slow). To prepare, I had asked on trip.com messaging if there was anything to know before we got there and had even informed them about our arrival time ahead of time, but unfortunately didn't know this would be an issue - it would have been nice if they told us before and offered to help. But apparently you can tell the guesthouse if you do need help, and they can assist you with your luggage when you first arrive (they might have a luggage cart). When we left, the ladies helped us with our suitcases, which was definitely appreciated. Additionally, the staff helped arrange a carpool to Lijiang for the next day. Staff was nice in person. The room is perfectly comfortable and clean, with a very modern and fancy bathroom. I found the beds quite comfortable; it was perfect for two. Though the room is on the first floor, it wasn't loud or noisy. The breakfast was also surprisingly really nice (we opted for sandwiches and some noodles, I think I picked er si), including fruit, corn, and sweet potato. Got served a beautiful latte with refined latte art too. We really liked just sitting around in the courtyard too after walking around the village; the way they've designed it is so tranquil and relaxing, perfectly fitting with the ambiance of Shaxi. There was also a friendly cat (apparently not owned by the guesthouse, but the cat likes visiting often) roaming around. Note: Even though this review in English, we spoke to the staff in Chinese. It seems other foreign guests have stayed here before too though! Overall, would recommend!

The courtyard is absolutely beautiful! My sister recommended this place, and it truly is stunning. It's even more delightful in person, and the room was spotlessly clean with all the necessary disposables. My friend and I didn't bring much, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the toiletries were from well-known brands, making us feel very comfortable and at ease. In the mornings, some tourists would take photos by the courtyard entrance, but the owner would politely ask them to keep their voices down so as not to disturb our rest. We even locked ourselves out late at night, and the owner, being incredibly kind, came out to help us open the door. Honestly, it's just a fantastic place, I loved it and will definitely be back!

The family acted like old friends, inviting us for tea and sharing local stories and activities. [They even invited us to a local wedding banquet that evening]. This feeling of being with family and friends is something standard hotels can never provide. 🏡 Unique and tasteful decor The decor was very distinctive and tasteful. The rooms featured antique items and handmade decorations, with thoughtful details everywhere. My room had a view of the countryside, which I absolutely loved. It was also incredibly quiet at night, and I slept very well. 🌾 Immersed in idyllic rural scenery The guesthouse's location was truly exceptional! Every window offered a picturesque rural landscape. Occasionally, a small dog would run across the paddy fields, or a farmer would pass by—it was incredibly peaceful. There was no urban hustle and bustle here, only the sounds of nature breathing; it truly realized the ”life I longed for.” 💝 Delightful Details The owner recommended a fantastic route for us to see the morning mist, and we even borrowed their electric scooter. They charged it overnight and tidied it up early the next morning – their thoughtfulness was evident. We also received a small gift before leaving, which was incredibly touching! Highly recommend this warm, scenic, and relaxing place. It was an unforgettable and heartwarming experience. Highly recommended!
