Amazing
SSlavnaExcellent hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly. In our case, they quickly helped us resolve an issue with visiting the hospital; they literally walked us there, sorted everything out, and accompanied us back. The location is very convenient. We walked from the pier upon arrival, and for our return, the hotel arranged a horse-drawn carriage for us at the specified time. The excursions we booked departed directly from the hotel's jetty. The hotel beach is clean, and you can swim with turtles on your own. If you swim to the left, you'll see lots of baby turtles! 😊 The breakfasts are delicious! We ordered room service, and it was brought exactly on time, beautifully presented, tasty, and diverse! 👌👍 Out of 8 hotels in Bali, this one and one other had truly exceptional breakfasts! The rooms are clean! This was a huge plus! Also, there's a French press coffee maker in the room, which is a lovely touch; it's so convenient to start the morning right with a delicious cup of coffee. The hotel grounds are green and well-maintained! I enjoyed the massage, especially having a massage table in a separate spa area. I highly recommend this hotel!

GGuest UserMy husband and I recently spent our birthdays and anniversary here and it was literal perfection! The location is 10/10, close enough to everything (including biking to sunset point) but also felt secluded. Gorgeous pool with swim up bar overlooking the picturesque grounds. The food was also the best we had on the island. Amazing massages in room. Staff were SO kind and attentive. The snorkelling trip we did on the Princess Margaux was so great (credit to Kholid for taking some great content on our GoPro!) They also organised a transfer directly from the resort beach to the golf course on Lombok for 9 holes after brekky on the beach for my husband’s birthday. Also one morning we saw turtles in the water as we were waiting for breakfast on the beach and the staff quickly got us a towel, wet shoes and snorkel mask so I could jump right in whilst waiting for food! So lush! As a seasoned traveller I can easily say this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Thank you so much!

AAnastasiaGSea Shell Hotel Gili is a small and cozy hotel where we stayed for two nights during our trip to the Gili Islands. The hotel is located inside the island rather than directly on the beach, but the ocean is still within easy walking distance — just a short walk to the left side of the island. Considering the size of Gili, the location is actually quite convenient and quiet. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun. The bathroom was also quite big with good plumbing — hot water was always available and the water pressure was strong. Overall everything was clean and well maintained. One small thing that felt a bit strange was that we were given only one towel per person. If a place positions itself as a hotel rather than a guesthouse, it would be nice to have at least two towels per guest. Another detail we didn’t love was the drinking water system. Water is provided in a jug rather than sealed plastic bottles. While it may be more eco-friendly, personally I feel a bit more comfortable when the drinking water comes in sealed bottles. The hotel has a large swimming pool which looks nice, although we didn’t end up using it — when you’re on Gili, swimming in the ocean feels like the obvious choice. Breakfast was probably the most disappointing part of the stay. There is a menu, but in reality there aren’t many options to choose from. On the second morning about half of the menu was unavailable when we tried to order, and no explanation was given. Amsterdam - Good cafe near the hotel :) in the end we sorted out our breakfast there Overall, Sea Shell Hotel Gili is a decent option if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay with spacious rooms and a good bathroom. It’s not perfect, but for a short stay on the island it worked well enough.

AAnonymous UserWe spent three nights enjoying a truly pleasant moment here. The mesmerizing sea views and soothing sounds immediately captivated us. From the generous and attentive staff to the 'good-mood' breakfasts and an excellent experience at the Althea Spa, every detail exceeded expectations. This is our top recommendation for anyone seeking a perfect couples or family getaway in Lombok.

GGuest UserSmall, but cozy rooms with their own saltwater pool (they add chlorine). There's no wardrobe for clothes or luggage. The staff are like penguins; they won't move until you kick them. Breakfast will fill you up, but it's nothing fancy. You can hear music from Gili Trawangan at night, but it doesn't disturb your sleep. The atmosphere is friendly. The restaurant cooks well, but there's a 21% surcharge, so we had dinner at the restaurant in front of the hotel.

VVery Curious ApeTotal 4 buildings. Deluxe Ultimate Rooms, in a 4-storey building at the back, are newer and very beautifully furnished. Deluxe Classic rooms (in 3-storey buildings) look rather old and worn and some of them (in the first building, nearest to the reception, are under renovation). Some construction work is being carried out now next to the reception and in the first hotel building - thankfully, I didn't hear any noise or disturbance from my room. Reception is very drab-looking and dimly lit and the tiny lobby is not a place you wish to hang around. Standard check in time is overly late, at 3 pm. Didn't use the 2 pools as I was there in the rainy season and most days, it rained on and off throughout the day. New hotel restaurant at the back is air-conditioned (there's outdoor dining area too), very clean and exudes great ambience! Buffet breakfast has lots of choices - some of the selections are good (pizza, finger food and some of the hot dishes) while others, like the pastries (limp and cold) and chilled items (pretty but excessively sweet desserts) didn't appeal to me. Wifi was painfully slow and frequently got disconnected in the room - the strongest signals are in the restaurant and reception. Overall, I love the spacious, beautiful and well furnished new Deluxe Ultimate room, the greenery all around and the friendly staff service.

TTiOkudA wonderful hotel with amazing breakfasts, a really beautiful beach, and decent massages. We ordered food from the restaurant a few times – it took a long time to arrive and tasted about 5/10, but the breakfasts were incredibly delicious and varied. The location isn't great if you plan on actively exploring the island, but if you're looking for solitude and just want to relax at the hotel, it's perfect. The nearest decent store (M-Mart) is about a 15-minute scooter ride away. There's nothing else nearby – no shops, no cafes. Within walking distance, there are only local stalls with a questionable selection of products. Its location proved inconvenient for island excursions; it took too long to get anywhere. About a 15-minute scooter ride away, there's a beach for beginner surfing, and from there you can also take a boat to more serious waves. Be aware that you can't call a Grab or Gojek taxi from the hotel; you'll have to use the hotel's transfer service, which charges triple the taxi fare. The hotel offers scooter rentals, but the price is also inflated. You could rent one for a day to get to Kuta and rent from locals there. We had a room with direct pool access, but we never swam in it. I don't recommend spending extra for it. The area around it seemed dubious, with lots of insects (mosquitoes, large spiders), several big lizards and geckos, and I even saw a rat jumping through the tree branches once.

RR3llaWe really loved this hotel and is located by a quiet beach. Breakfast was good and meals are good too. Service was good and the staff are friendly and kind. Only downside(s) is the noise from outside the room - corridor noise - doors seem to have some vents, which inadvertently lets in the noise. Restaurant charges service charges and taxes (even for drinks).

NNikolai LavrentevI recently stayed at this hotel and honestly… I’m still kind of amazed, though I can’t quite put my finger on exactly why. It’s one of those places that just feels good the moment you arrive — or at least, I think it did. Something about the whole atmosphere gave off this calm, welcoming energy, even if I can’t fully explain it. The overall experience was… honestly, really lovely. I don’t know if it was the way everything seemed to run so smoothly, or just the general vibe, but it made me feel comfortable in a way that surprised me. Everyone I interacted with seemed genuinely nice — or at least, it felt that way — which made the stay feel more personal and warm. There was this sense of everything being thought through. I couldn’t necessarily point to one specific thing that made it stand out, but the combination of everything — the ambiance, the way things were handled, just the overall feeling — made it seem almost effortless. It’s like everything worked together quietly in the background to make the stay good without needing to shout about it. Even though I can’t name exact details, I had this strong sense throughout my time there that I was being taken care of in a subtle, reassuring way. It wasn’t loud or flashy, just consistently good. The environment felt balanced, almost like it understood exactly how to make guests feel at ease without trying too hard. I left feeling genuinely happy and strangely relaxed — the kind of feeling that sneaks up on you when everything just… works. And even if I can’t explain every reason why, I know I walked away with a really positive impression. I’d absolutely consider staying here again. Probably more than just consider, honestly.
