Posted on Jan 18, 2026|Japanese Room, Non-Smoking (A Room Divided By Fusuma [6 To 12 Tatami])
Guest UserYou need to stay at Shojoshin-in if you come to Koyasan! There's an English speaking receptionist when you check in, a Chinese monk and you can always use google translate to communicate with the Japanese-only staff/monks! There's goma prayers at 1pm, a tour of the temple only for lodgers at 4pm, dinner served at 530pm (& the food is super flavourful), you can do sutra copying in your room (pay at reception) and pay for a handwritten goshuin as well! Shojoshin-in is the closest temple to Okunoin's entrance so its super convenient to do a night tour (run by an external vendor). Main doors close at 5pm but you can enter through the side door. I met a Japanese lady whom stays only at Shojoshin-in when she comes to Koyasan every year! I miss this place already :(

The room was very spacious and traditional. The bathroom had a japanese bath which we appreciated very much. The monks were very welcoming and nice, they explained everything.
We also attended the morning prayer at 7 am. Overall it was a great experience.
The dinner and breakfast were delicious.

The hotel has a parking lot, the location is good, 500 meters away from the King Kong Mountain Temple, public bathroom, fine cuisine, morning class at 6:30 in the morning, experience is still very good

The room is quite good, the environment in the courtyard is elegant, I originally wanted to book Fuzhiyuan, because there is no room ➕ Due to the bus change route, it is far away in the past, so I decisively chose Changxiyuan. Going out and turning left is the Tanjialan. Crossing the road is the King Kong Peak Temple. The parking lot and bus stop are across the road. Later, we went to Wakayama and didn't go to the electric rail again, but took the Nanhai bus directly to Wakayama Yacht City (Kuroshio Market). It was very convenient. It is strongly recommended to live here.

A short walk from Ekoin, very hospitable and friendly service. Room is big and clean with heater provided. Public bath is big but there’s only one so have to reserve slot. They have fire goma ritual everyday for guests and also sutra writing for free provided. Very recommended temple stay!

The accommodation and the temple are not in the same building and are 20 meters apart. The temple is very quiet, beautiful and simple. The accommodation is completely Japanese-style and has complete facilities. The morning classes starting at 6:30 in the morning are full of ritual and parking is convenient.
