Wild Coast Tented Lodge by Relais & Châteaux. This luxury wilderness resort was founded by Dilmah's renowned tea company. All accommodations are tented, giving our child a taste of super-sized tent camping. The extra bed for children was a fun touch. As our butler said, 'I'm sure she'll love it,' and she did! The meals are all-inclusive, covering three delicious and hearty meals a day (lunch can be enjoyed on check-in day or after check-out the next day), afternoon tea, sunset cocktail hour, and a daily jeep safari in the national park. It cost around 9K per night for two adults and one child. The resort is located within Yala National Park, so you'll frequently spot monkeys, deer, lizards, and squirrels, and even elephants occasionally visit. For any movement between 7 PM and 7 AM, you need to call staff to accompany you.
The biggest advantage is skipping the safari queue. There's a dedicated fast track, and seeing dozens, if not hundreds, of other vehicles waiting to register made us feel quite smug. However, to spot a leopard 🐆, you still need to wake up at 4:30 AM.

No need to wake up early for a safari when staying at this hotel! You can see many black-faced monkeys, four or five crocodiles in the lake, peacocks, lizards, various water birds, and small squirrels. The ecosystem here is fantastic, and surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes at all – maybe it was the season. The weather was great during our stay, and dinner was good too. It's definitely a great value for money option in this area. We also met a staff member who enthusiastically led us to the hotel's private beach and took photos for our whole family. He refused a tip, saying he was just happy we came, such a kind person! The animals here are also very friendly; the monkeys don't attack people and just eat leaves. What a magical experience watching the hotel's dogs immediately charge and bark when they saw crocodiles trying to come ashore!

The feeling of vacation is full when you enter the hotel. The room is OK but there are a lot of bugs. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, Italian, Asian and buffet. There are some tourist restaurants around the hotel, which are not recommended. It takes about half an hour to drive to any restaurant that is worth your attention. When you check out, you should take a good look at the bill. There are several extra items such as turtle protection fees for no reason.

Hidden away in the jungle, the hotel is beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in the king suite with our own pool and spa and it was the perfect spot to wind down after an active week of climbing, walking and safaris.
We happened to be the only guests on our night stay and everyone made it a lovely experience with taking us for a walk around the lake to see the local wildlife and cooking a bbq right outside our room.
Will definitely stay here again should I find myself back in Sri Lanka.

This hotel is located in a remote area, which turned out to be a huge advantage. The peaceful surroundings allowed us to completely unwind without any distractions — it truly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.
Right from the start, we were treated to a lovely surprise: a room upgrade with a stunning ocean view. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was pure magic.
The food was a highlight — beautifully flavored local dishes with a creative twist. Knowing that everything was sourced sustainably from local farmers made the experience even more meaningful.
What really stood out was the hospitality. During my stay, I sprained my ankle, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me. A special thank you to Lakshitha, who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout my recovery.
This is a place where nature, comfort, and genuine care come together. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and experience authentic Sri Lankan warmth.

The Hilton Yala Resort is located on the southern edge of Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, at the entrance to a protected area... It's said that the park experience is a substitute for an African safari, and this protected area is home to wild animals such as leopards, elephants, deer, and peacocks, especially the leopard colony (just kidding, you practically never see one [sweat]). This resort has only 42 rooms, blending seamlessly into nature. Each room has a private balcony and a Jacuzzi or private pool. A spa is standard at resorts, and there are suites and more private villas, but the prices are just as hefty [laughs]...

We booked this at the last minute due to a change of plans and so just went by the previous reviews but we are so glad we did! It’s a small hotel but with lovely large rooms with private pools. We loved the sunset walk to the beautiful wild beach and our trip to Yala. We didn’t have any problems with wildlife in the shower and loved the feeling of being in such a natural environment. The real selling point of the hotel however is their staff and every one of them went out of their way to help us have a great stay.
Thanks again!

Guest UserWe had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

There is no bath gel in the room, not even a bath towel. Hair dryer is provided after request. In short, the facilities are too simple. However, the inn service staff is warm and thoughtful. The Tisza Lake is right outside the door

JIANZHONGHotel service is good, breakfast is good, ordering is not bad, live on the second floor with balcony, swimming pool in front of the building, very quiet, the birds in the night are very loud, go to Safari alone, you will be a chartered car, inform the hotel in advance to pack breakfast The cost of renting a car to other places is relatively high. The location is not on the street, it takes about 5 kilometers to walk to the lake. The overall is very good, very casual!
