"I chose this hotel for its location and because of fond memories of Campanile Restaurants in France. Whilst the continental breakfast was very acceptable and well up to standard, there was no evening meal available. There are several fast food options close by, but these were not what we wanted. The motel rooms were exactly as I remembered from the distant past - and there is where there is a problem. Other chains do better rooms at the price point , so without an evening restaurant, then I shall think twice about choosing Campanile again"

"Avoid this place; it's really mediocre, barely two-star quality, very outdated, or at least stuck in the past. If you're looking for comfort and a relaxing dinner in Étaples, the restaurant I tried as part of a package deal wasn't up to par. And the heating in the room wasn't very effective; despite requesting 25°C, it was barely 17-18°C at night. Or perhaps I just didn't get the right room."

"Wonderful grand hotel, located in a fashionable neighborhood. Spacious rooms, large garden with lawns and a swimming pool. My room had a balcony overlooking the gardens and out to the Pyranees. Ten minute drive to the Pau Golf Club. Avoid the restaurant. The food was terrible. "

"We did not read the reviews before, but in retrospect the latest ones are a true reflection of this place. The positives, it’s close to the town center, its pet friendly the pillows were remarkably comfortable. The negatives:- it’s scruffy, difficult to park close to it. It’s next to a night club so expect noise until 05:00 at the weekend. If you have reduced mobility there only access to the lobby are via a series of steps. The hotels photos are misleading, their main photo is of the town chateau! It’s now become my number 1 worst hotel I’ve stayed in!"
