My friends and I traveled to Shenmulei and Dawagengza on a self-guided tour. We went to Shenmulei first, and after finishing, we contacted the hotel owner, who picked us up. The owner and his wife were very warm and friendly. The hotel room was clean and tidy, and the view from the window was beautiful! That evening, we had a local specialty, beef hot pot, at the hotel, which was quite delicious. Since we didn't have a car and the owners were heading to the scenic area too early, they even arranged for the guests in the next room to give us a ride. The young lady was incredibly kind, and the journey was very pleasant. The only downside was the unpredictable weather; we missed the sunrise. Overall, though, it was a great experience!

WMQ97Very good service. For Thais who want to stay here, we recommend it. Both owners are lovely. You can talk to the hotel to pick you up at the drop-off point and can drop you off at tourist spots. But the starting travel fee is 20 - 40 yuan (100 -200 baht) / person / time.
Room - 9/10 rating because there is no wardrobe + the room we stayed in, the bathroom area is not divided into shower and toilet, so it will be cool all the time.
From the hotel to 达瓦更扎 is about 10-15 minutes (fast walking style). If you are a chill person, it will take about 20 minutes. We recommend talking to the hotel to drop you off in the morning (around 3-4 AM, depending on the time you go) and then walk down the hill back to the hotel yourself.
Note: The hotel does not provide drinking water or tea or coffee. If you want it, you may have to buy it. And there are no convenience stores in this area, so we recommend buying some food to keep. Because the hotel only sells Chinese food as a side dish to eat with rice (the taste tends to be salty and oily) and also sells general drinks, but there is Chinese instant noodles for sale.

Awesome experience!
Tian Jie's house is the first homestay that let me experience the ”homestay spirit”. As soon as I arrived at the homestay, I saw my uncle sorting trees and flowers at the door. As soon as I saw us coming, I quickly came to help us carry our luggage and introduce the room and public area. The layout of Sister Tian's house is like a small home, with a garden, a living room, a lounge, a balcony and a room. Uncle saw that we brought snacks and tea by ourselves, and put the cup on the table and told us that the boiling water was next to it, and it just burned. Then we left the homestay to us. Like our own home, we made tea, watched the scenery on the balcony, and the dogs ran around freely. We played our own music, ate small snacks, played with our mobile phones, and took a few photos when we were happy. Don't mention how comfortable it is.
At dinner, Sister Tian’s house made it casually, the taste of home-cooked dishes, fried meat with potatoes, and cakes made by her uncle, and bacon made by her own family, thief fragrant! The next morning, it was also a simple porridge, dried radishes and cakes. The cake was really too fragrant. We went to Changhaizi and packed a portion for us.
The most important thing is that the room is well lit and transparent. The air conditioner is turned on and there is no smell at all, and the bedding is very clean.
Very good experience, we have made an appointment to see the red leaves at the end of October and the snowy mountains in November.

This is a Tibetan-run homestay. It takes about 10 minutes to drive to the entrance of the scenic spot, not too far.
The facilities vary from person to person, which is the level of ordinary homestays, with air conditioning (to choose an air-conditioned room), 24-hour hot water, electric blankets, toiletries, etc. If you have a limited budget and no particularly high requirements for facilities, you can still live for a while. After all, the price is not high, and their hot pot is quite delicious. This point is praised. If you are used to four or five hundred light luxury hotels, then consider it, because more than one hundred homestay conditions may not be sent to your needs.

Guest UserThe room was clean and hygienic, and it was by the lake. The fungus soup chicken in this store tastes very authentic and very delicious, and the cooking is also delicious. The boss is enthusiastic and worth recommending. I will come to this store next time.

Guest UserCompared with the previous accommodation experience in Shenmu Lei, the Stars Gengzha Hotel is really surprising. Not only is the price high, but the stay is also particularly cramped and uncomfortable, and the price/performance ratio here is simply bursting. Each room is a separate wooden house, spacious and transparent, clean and tidy, making people live particularly comfortable, and the scenery outside the window is even more pleasing to the eye. The hotel is also close to the scenic spot, only 5 minutes drive away, especially convenient for travel.
This trip to Dawa became especially perfect because of such accommodation. Fortunately, the starry sky, magnificent sea of clouds and gorgeous sunrise were also as desired, which was really worth it!

Very good, cost-effective, and you can see the stars at night. The food we ate was authentic wood-fired stir-fried dishes, and the vermicelli in the ******* hotpot was so delicious. The boss was generous and welcoming and even treated us to instant noodles. Good reviews

KenchudanlanAlthough I booked the cheapest room, mainly due to its low reviews, I worried the more expensive options wouldn't offer the same value. However, after checking out other room options, they were quite good in every way, so I opted for a tent instead. The weather was cool and the area was quiet—a perfect place to escape the summer heat. I even had to cover myself with a quilt at night. Time was a bit tight this time, so I'll stay a few more days next time.

MeishanlvkenongmuHighly recommend this Tibetan manor homestay! The location is excellent, only a few minutes drive from the gate of Dawa Gengza Scenic Area. It is not necessary to drive long distances to watch the sunrise in the early morning, saving a lot of trouble. Free parking spaces are available in the courtyard, and it is very convenient for cars to go directly. The room is clean and tidy, the bathroom hot water is stable, equipped with electric blankets, perfect for the low temperature at night on the plateau, and sleep is very comfortable. The boss and his family are warm and caring, and take the initiative to inform the precautions and play routes for going up the mountain, and the service is thoughtful. The yak beef fungus soup pot in the restaurant in the store tastes authentic and the weight is real. You don't have to drive to the town for food at night, worry-free and warm. The manor environment is quiet and quiet, away from the traffic noise of the market town, the terrace can overlook the valley and mountain views, and you can enjoy the night of the mountains in the evening. Whether it is to go to Dawa Gengza to see the sea of clouds, or to play Shenmu Lei on the way, it is very suitable to stay here, the overall experience exceeds expectations, and I will choose to stay next time!
