Our stay at the Hyatt Regency on our wedding night was phenomenal! We were hoping for maybe some champagne or something special since it was our wedding night, but it was still a great experience overall. We had an amazing view and great service throughout the night there. Would definitely stay again!

I have stayed at some of the nicest hotels in the country and this was right near the top. My only critique is the homeless population overwhelmed the area. Maybe work with the city to clean that area up. Otherwise this hotel was the epitome of old world elegance in abundance.

Came to town for a concert and chose the Hilton for its proximity to Moody Center and lovely photos of the property. From the moment we pulled in and were greeted by the valet staff, to checking in with Chris Hartfield (sp?) at the front desk, we knew we’d picked the right place. Chris was very welcoming and even worked to get us into a larger room which was not available online. He was so kind, gave us information to help us with our evening around town and made us feel at home. Our room was clean and spacious, the decor was nice and beds/bedding was very comfortable. We chose to take a Lyft to the event but took a nice walk thru Austin on the way back to enjoy the city. Highly recommend and wish we could have stayed longer.

First I’ll say that the older man at the front desk was wonderful. He was so helpful and kind and was able to get me very early check-in which ended up saving my goose for the day and enabled me to get some sleep when I really needed it. The lobby is beautiful but unfortunately the room itself was just not. The bathroom was very small and tight and just felt a little off. The thermostat in the bedroom was broken and because of that it was very muggy in the room for my whole stay. The room had a strong musty smell and the sheets felt off somehow. Very rough and stiff. The remote was under the bed when I arrived which made me suspicious so I just left it there. It definitely didn’t seem to have been cleaned between visitors. The carpet could definitely use a deep cleaning. Lots of marks and paint chips on the walls. No overhead light in the room but several lamps. I took a nap and then woke up to find a cluster of black hair in the sheets. I am a platinum blonde so this was disturbing to me. Then as I was heading out for the day, I noticed a small bug in my hair. I ended up going to a friend’s house in the city to take a hot shower because the bathroom was, as I said, very narrow and small. After the hair in the sheets, I ended up opting to just sleep at the friend’s house because I was so grossed out. It was amazing to be able to check in so early and have a safe place to nap, but for $245 for a night, it was definitely not what I’d hoped for, especially for a Hilton.

The service was very good and caring, knowing that the child had an exam the next morning, and a free breakfast was specially arranged. It was originally not included in the breakfast. Such carefulness is rare in foreign service.

We opted to stay on Rainey based on what Rainey was like in the past. However, we didn’t realize that this is the new site for redevelopment in Austin, so a lot of the charm of Rainey is being replaced by high-rises. The hotel did provide early plugs in the room to help block out construction noise, and for that I was super thankful. The hotel sent the typical welcome text earlier on check-in day. We checked in online and opted for a digital key because we’d arrive after midnight, and wanted to go straight to our room. Upon arrival, our digital key didn’t work at the garage or at our room. We went back to the lobby and waited a while without anyone coming up to help. After yelling “hello,” to try and get help, an employee came to the front desk. It wasn’t the typical welcome, as they seemed kind of put out about us being there - but hey it was 3 am so I can overlook that. After getting us regular room keys, I asked if my digital key would work now too. They shared that the digital key system was new and had not been working. The welcome text really should have mentioned that. The room smelled off when we arrived - almost like BO. Possibly it was from someone cooking onions in a nearby room, but it was just as pungent then next morning.. When we got the “how was you stay text”, we mentioned the smell. The front desk staff was helpful and offered to have housekeeping go by and freshen the room. When we arrived back at the room that evening, there was an aerosol odor-ban food smell remover spray on the table. Nothing else was done and the room smell was just as bad. Same smell on the day we departed. Our room was on the 16th floor so possibly other areas were not as bad. If you do opt to stay here, it is not terrible. Set your expectations lower as it is more like a Choice Hotels brand stay than a Hilton family stay. Also if you reserve the one bedroom king and plan to have your kids stay on the sofa bed, know it is not paid out like some other Homewood suites. The sofa bed is the same, but the only way to access the bathroom is via the bedroom. Also, the sink and vanity are not separated from the bedroom by a door and the shower is the old tub insert shower combo. So if your kids are teens and stay up later like ours do, just get two rooms. The place really needs an update all around to be up to be we usually experience at a Homewood. Hopefully it is up for one soon as the location is great. We’ll be booking at the Hilton instead when returning to Austin, though.

I chose this hotel because I had an early flight out after staying 2 days. Upon checking in I noticed a few tiny ants on my bathroom counter and killed them but didn't think much about it. When I woke up in the morning there were tiny ants all over the counter including on my toothbrush and razor and all over the sink. I went to the front desk and told them about the ant problem, showed them pictures and asked to change rooms. They gave me another room which I am happy to say didn't have any ants. I was surprised that there was no offer of any compensation, either in discount or points when I brought this problem to the front desk. I did eat breakfast one morning in the hotel restaurant. I got the eggs, pancakes, bacon and potatoes. Everything was fine except the potatoes were cold. Also, the time it took to get my food from when it was ordered was slow. If you look at the satellite view there is a way to walk to the terminal in about 15 minutes if you don't want to take the free shuttle. I do like that the hotel sent me a text with a link to track the shuttle when I called from the airport and needed to be picked up. I probably would not stay here again since downtown is just a 20 min ride away.

Roselin, the lady at the front desk was great she was very friendly and it took us 5 minutes to do the hole process. Clean rooms, great location Very comfortable bed and pillows. Lobby area is very lively and fun. The breakfast was good menu is limited but service and taste was great . Tammy our waitress was very nice and made us feel at home. Overall experience was great!
TTardykatWe arrived a little past 1pm and was able to check in. Hot towels scented with eucalyptus oil were provided. In this heat (94F), cold towels would've been my choice. Christine at the desk offered an ”upgrade” to 2 Queen bed accessible room. We'd booked a king bed, I guess 2 beds is an upgrade? She was very nice and friendly explaining the features and amenities the hotel offers. When you get off the elevator, one side of the hallway leads to Aloft rooms and the other Element rooms. The room décor was as pictured on their website, no surprises. We got room 614, which was the last one in the hallway and the window overlooks the building right next door. Not much of a view. Each day the lobby offers a different fruit-infused water. Breakfast pastries are from Caroline Coffeehouse. Other options are cereal, breads and a yoghurt bar. The only hot option made fresh changes daily. First day we were there were 2 types of pancakes and the second day were 2 types of breakfast tacos. I would've liked to see available fried eggs, sausages or breakfast potatoes. The great location and friendly staff can't be beat.

Legitimately my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in. I stayed here because it was reasonably priced and in the middle of the city, but I wasn't expecting to find my favorite hotel in the United States. My room was relatively small, but had everything you need in a hotel room in exactly the right place down to the smallest detail. For example, some of the outlets were turned sideways to accommodate Mac chargers that often fall out of loose outlets (mine being a major culprit). They also had easy streaming options through Cast so I could watch shows from my phone on the large TV in the room. It's very clear that someone who has stayed in MANY hotel rooms over the years designed this room, because every annoyance I've ever had didn't exist here. There was even a golf simulator I didn't know about! I will stay here every single time I come back to Austin

TTK—Good location in the downtown area. The hotel is new. You need to become a hotel member (register at the counter) to receive complimentary water, which I didn’t know on my first night. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t bother to explain that membership was required, even for something as basic as water, when I initially declined to register. Lastly, I found it hard to sleep at night due to the noise from the AC, as I’m very sensitive to sound. Overall, though, my experience was pretty good.

GGuest UserLet me preface this by saying that the only reason I chose this hotel at first was because it was one of the few hotels not pushing or exceeding $200+ per night during SXSW. I needed to be by the airport and away from downtown, so affordability and convenience to the airport were my top priorities. Secondly, understand that this is a Motel 6. The place is very short on amenities: no airport shuttle (though plenty of Uber/Lyft), no fridge, no iron/board, no hairdryer. But that was minor. Plus, the hotel doesn't say they have any of these, so I can't fault them. They do have an ice machine, laundry room, vending machines and microwave (in lobby) which were helpful. That said, we had a great experience here. It's definitely much nicer and newer than most Motel 6s. But what stood out for us was the outstanding service from the front desk staff, particularly Crystal. She definitely elevated our experience. The area isn't the nicest (not that I expected it to be, considering it's near the airport and the highway), but it definitely appears to be an up-and-coming neighborhood. There are a lot of reputable hotel brands in the surrounding area and newer, low-rise apartments being built. Not too many great dining options in the area, but there are the other hotels, Starbucks, 7-11, Denny's, and Waffle House all within 5-10 minutes away by foot. It could be worse. There is a decent food truck lot across the street. It didn't seem dangerous, but I'd still watch my back walking around at night. The hotel itself is a solid 3-rating, but I elevated it to 4 on account of the service. I would probably stay here again if the circumstances called for it.
JJewell RCold front came before we got in from Louisiana, front desk staff with red hair helped direct us to walmart to get clothes. Rooms were clean, warm and they were nice about letting us know about crickets. Kept coffee out to help combat the cold and great sense of humor when needing new keys all weekend.
