"Location is the only good thing about this hotel. Beds are VERY uncomfortable and gave me a rash all over my body. Food is subpar. Staff are ok. Air-conditioning did not work which left me unable to sleep. They charge extra for things like the sauna, which other hotels don't charge for!"

"Nice location, large room, comfortable bed and view of the water. Room one flight up and lift out of order plus significant water leakage by the toilet. Decent breakfast and lovely courtyard to enjoy our dinner in A good value for a one night stay but happy not to have stayed longer"

Aldeia da Fonte Hotel ★★★★

"Hard beds but otherwise a fantastic experience. The hotel is a series of cottages by the ocean and has a dreamlike quality about it. It feels like something out of the hobbit. Paths wind around the facility and uncover little nooks and crannies for chilling or reading. Other paths take you along the ocean and down towards the pool and sauna. My wife said she'd come back to just stay and chill for a few days. Our room, #1, had a main bedroom and a separate living room with a bed for our third traveler. My travelers just kept repeating...'how adorable' and 'how cute is this'. The restaurant was very good and we ate there twice, sampling different meals, such as the bacon/ham pasta, code and octopus bake and baked tuna...all of which were big enough to share. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and if we're back in Pico, will be sure to stay there again."

"THis is a holiday complex in the village of Sao Roque on the island of Pico. My room was OK with an en suite and with shared kitchen facilities and a dining area just along the corridor. There is an outdoor pool but no 24-hour reception. I would not recommen attempting to stay here without car as the public transport is virtually non-exostent and there is little to do in the village itself."

"Cheerful views, fun host, comfortable bed and excellent shower in room 11. We had to have another room with a balcony but settled in a room behind the kitchen. We liked it and we didn't insist on relocating. The room was warm, which rarely is on the islands in May."

"Bioth of us were bitten all over from bedbugs- huge red itchy bumps!! Obviously the hotel staff knew they had an infestation as they came with alcohol to disenfect straight away. ‘Thats what we always do’ they said also did they confirm that its bed bugs. Stay away!!!!!!!"

Porto Velho Boutique Hostel ★★

"Very clean. Great location. Walk to grocery store , restaurants, ferry, swimming pool/natural pools, wine museum. The water has a very bad smell, not the hostel's fault, but FYI as it does prevent the enjoyment of having the window open. Air conditioning/heating. Good water pressure in shower. Lovely front desk staff who helped us in a few ways. Would definitely recommend staying here. "

"I was a little disappointed that this is not, in fact, a hotel. I think I might have been the only person staying there, I didn't see anyone else except for about 2 seconds in the breakfast room. The only contact I had was by email, and all the instructions were only sent the morning I was traveling, so I didn't receive them until I got to Pico. The room was comfortable enough and very clean. But lots of things are dated. The internet was non-existent. The air conditioner and bathroom fan were both ancient and made a lot of noise. The breakfast was only meh, but the view from the breakfast room was lovely. The location is good, close to town and in a quiet area. I didn't spend much time at the hotel and it was too cold for a swim, but I imagine that would be great when the weather is warmer as the pool also has an amazing view. It's worth it for the price."
