"A good hotel with a decent breakfast. The room was clean, and the pool was so clean you'd want to swim in it. The staff was attentive and the cleaning was timely. By Indian standards, it's an ideal value for money. Now for the nuances (I don't consider these a downside, since it's India :)) The beach is a 7-minute walk down a dirt road, surrounded by shacks and houses of local residents, with dogs. Alternatively, you can walk ***** the main, very busy road, which is about 15-20 minutes. We liked the shack on the left side of the beach best, in the very corner by the large rocks. I don't remember the name, but the price and service were good."

"The hotel was very clean, quiet, located about 6-7 min drive to Palolem Beach with a very clean swimming pool and good parking space. Just the peaceful getaway we were seeking. They have an exceptionally service minded staff. Abhishek ensured our check-ins and check-outs were seamless and also helped us with a change in room understanding our requirements and what would make it a comfortable and delightful stay. The food was very good. The Managers, Mr. Varun and Mr. Singh and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our hotel stay was for 3 nights, 4 days and at the end we felt sad that we planned such a short stay."

"They showed us one room,but they provided another room.They don't clean the rooms everyday.We had to ask for complementary water bottle everyday.Also they didn't provide soap and shampoo.You have to ask every time The food is quite expensive but the taste was not up to the mark.Staffs were not attentive as well to the customer Only good part is -location of the hotel and live music in the restaurant"

"We were recommended to go to Hilias by some friends who have stayed with Hilas & family a few times previously and I can safely say it was a GREAT recommdation and I certainly would also recommend a stay there It's located in a quiet area at the South side of Palolem but 2 minutes walk from the beach We have stayed many times in beach huts at both Patnem and Agonda but our now aged bones needed a tad more luxury and Hilias provide that extra bit but at a reasonable cost 👍🙏"

"Great location just a few minute walk to the beach front. Cute little bungalow style accommodation which was basic but clean, great shower and excellent aircon with a fan. So we were comfortable at night time and slept well. For the price we paid I thought it was great and would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was included and although basic hits the spot. The staff looked after us really well and were so helpful and friendly. A great experience!"

"The place is nice, but our stay wasn't good, due to the staff in the reception and the situation created. We booked the place for five nights. The first day, when we arrived, they showed us the bungalow and told us we could change to a better one with a corresponding upgrade. We checked the premises and decided we would like the change. Because the reservation was made through Booking, we had to cancel the booking done in the app. Through booking we had a notification that we had to pay a cancellation penalty of 7500 rupees, which obviously we didn't end up paying, because the change was done at their suggestion. Then, we had to pay the upgraded reservation and they told us that using the credit card it would have an extra charge of 2%. Because we don't like paying banks money and we didn't have the full amount in cash, we asked them if we could pay a quarter then and the rest later on. They said we could even pay when checking out. So far so good. During our stay the weather was very bad, and by the second day we thought we were loosing time there. We told them that we were considering the possibility of shortening our stay, even paying a penalty like the one of Booking. From then on, the problems started. They told us that whether we stayed or shortened our stay, we would have to pay the full amount. I asked them to show me their cancellation policy written down, and they told me that they didn't have one, but they could write it for us. I told them that it was a bit unusual for us not to be provided with cancellation policy and they told us they used the standard policy stablished by Booking. Then we asked them why they were charging us the full amount since booking was asking about a third of the total amount, and we told them that it was an unusual situation for us. I asked them again about something written and they showed us a paper with a cancellation penalty of 50%. Then again it didn't make sense for us, and they replied us that we had to pay the full amount because the reserved the bungalow for us, which was not true for two reasons: firstly, the one we booked was another one, secondly the resort had four other guests, 90% was empty. Nevertheless, we thought it was not worth creating a situatuon and we said reluctantly that we would have to think about what to do. Later that day I got a message through Booking saying that there was a problem in my card while charging us the cancellation penalty. At that point we were not sure if they were trying to make us pay the original cancellation of 7500 rupees or not. Maybe it was something else, but everything was strange. By then we had serious trust issues with the reception staff, but regardless, we decided to stay, because being abroad we didn't want to create any trouble. The next day we went to pay the full amount by card, and they told it would have a charge of 14%. Apparently we would have to bear the government tax, nothing made sense. "This isn't our first time staying at this hotel. It's probably the most upscale hotel on Palolem. But it's a bit pricey. We didn't try breakfast; it's geared toward locals. It's better to go to the cafe across the street or to a shake shop. There's a great small pool if you don't want to go to the sea. Drinks are overpriced."

"I really liked the hotel. It's clean, modern, comfortable, beautiful, and cozy. It's decorated in soft, light colors. The rooms are large and spacious, with a sitting area and a kitchen area. You can request a kettle for your room. There are dishes, tea and coffee making facilities, and sugar. There's a refrigerator, TV, and a wardrobe. I had two balconies. My room was on the first floor, which was very convenient and beautiful. Right by the pool. The bed was very comfortable. The linens were clean. The all-inclusive breakfasts were good. I highly recommend this hotel. The beach is within walking distance."

"We checked into Degarland hoping for a relaxing and comfortable stay, which is exactly what we got! The room was very clean and comfortable as was the bathroom. The air conditioning worked great and housekeeping came daily. The services (room service, laundry, pool and restaurant) were all excellent making it a really enjoyable time being there from morning to night. The highlight though is the Degarland staff who are all kind, welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Varun the manager for being really helpful and just a great person to chat with. Our waitress Reshma was also so attentive and lovely throughout our stay. If you want to have a truly relaxing time in palolem definitely stay here!"

"The most familiar place to stay in whole Palolem. I am amazed about the hospitality the owners give to the guests. Me and my GF has travelled a lot in the years, and im also travelling a lot at work. So by that, im saying that i have my demands at a hotel. And Hilias Retreat has it all! Nice rooms. Excellence cleaning. Big refridgerator with water filled up every day of cleaning. Adorable owners by Mr. Hilias and his wife. Nothing is a problem, they will do anything to make you feel good at your stay. 1,5 min to the beach. Silent at night. And the two wonderful pugs, Macho and Puglin that also will give you a warm welcome! We have already made a reservation for 4 weeks in february 2025, cant find a better place to stay!
