Mavs Boutique Hotel
"The ONLY positive thing I can say about this location is the proximity to Combate beach, otherwise, this place should be shut down. The property number they have listed is a 305 number that NO ONE answers calls or texts. They don’t answer emails. Not before your reservation, not during and definitely not after! The person in charge of that phone is “Bebita” who has no profesional mannerism whatsoever, she should definitely NOT be in the hospitality industry. She doesn’t even live on the island, by the looks of it she’s somewhere on South Beach too busy to answer anybody’s calls, texts or emails. I was 10 minutes away from the property with no information on how to access the studio “deluxe” I had already paid in full for 7 days. I happen to find a number of a maintenance guy that was as helpful as he could possibly be. To make a really LONG STORY short, I was moved three times to three different units and ALL three lacked BASIC sanitation and cleanliness issues that should be PLAIN AND SIMPLE BASIC protocol!!! In no way shape or form was I expecting or asking for service/amenities of the Ritz Carlton or The Waldorf. The lack of sanitation and cleanliness that this property has is really concerning and in my years living and visiting the island, even with older properties, I had never come across such situation. I was promptly greeted by live roaches in the kitchen, I think I may have interrupted their 4pm coffee break, ***** hairs and soap residue in the tub from the previous guest, multiple hairs in the beds, bodily fluid stain in the sheets (it was obvious that the bed sheets had not been changed from the previous guest) a dead bug on the bathroom towel sitting on the rack, food from the previous guest in the fridge, fridge gasket strip had mold, the whole interior of the fridge was wiped down and the paper towel came out yellow, no hot water, the beds sit as low as below your knees and hard as a rock (might as well sleep on an air mattress), they refill the dishwashing detergent with what seems like Ajax powder that sits all the way at the bottom of the container, the third unit had two floors with only one Air Conditioning console that barely cooled the second floor, even less the first floor, concrete floor is way more comfortable than the futon “bed”the property advertises and there’s only one TV downstairs. The tiled staircase in that two floor unit is a huge accident to happen for parents traveling with children, it’s all tiled, sharp and slippery. The outdoor pool has no steps, just two of the old school metal in-pool ladder/rails. The pool did not have enough water, they had a water hose floating in it, the pool is surrounded by slippery tile, no safety pool ring to be found on premises which I’m pretty sure is code, and if I needed anymore confirmation that this property is a standing red flag, every single unit was empty, we were the only ones there, on spring break. There’s no office or staff on-site. I checked out the following morn"
