We were really looking forward to our stay, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations. Our room wasn’t ready at 3 p.m., which was a minor delay but still frustrating given that check-in is already quite late. The young man with the grim 'welcome' at reception also felt a bit unprofessional and not especially friendly. On the plus side, the room was spacious, spotless, and decorated to a high standard. However, it was quite dark, and the, extremely dark, bathroom design seemed more focused on style than practicality — there was no proper light near the mirror, which made it difficult for my wife to get ready. Staff tried to help (twice) with a cheap stick-on light, but it didn’t work for long before running out power. Apparently ALL rooms have this problem (no bathroom light over mirror) The totally glass toilet door and the see-through sliding shower screen from the bedroom were also odd choices to say the least. Our room safe didn’t work and wasn’t bolted down. Reception said they knew about the issue before we arrived (but did nothing) and brought a replacement, but it was also unsecured. We were told it would be fixed “in a week or two,” which didn’t help much during our stay. The young lady we dealt with clearly had zero-grasp of customer-care. She was pleasant - but offered no solution. Housekeeping was another disappointment — our room wasn’t serviced on the first day, and the embarrassingly waffled explanation we were given didn’t make sense, especially since we hadn’t left the “Do Not Disturb” sign out. On the positive side, breakfast was excellent, and the manager we spoke with at checkout was understanding and explained they’d only recently taken over the property. Overall, there were good points, but too many practical and poor-service issues for us to consider staying again.

This hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for central location and modern design in Porto. It’s within easy walking distance of major sights like the Ribeira district, São Bento Station, and Avenida dos Aliados — perfect for exploring the city on foot. The room is much larger than expected for a city-center hotel, with tasteful designer decor and a small but useful kitchenette. Has a coffee machine, but would have loved to have a kettle and some tea and milk. The bathroom layout included a separate shower and toilet area, whilst the sink was was located outside...not a big fan of this myself. Breakfast was freshly made to order, not a buffet but it had ample choice of eggs, bread, yoghurts and fruit. Would definitely recommend if in Porto

Prim and proper was a great stay, the rooms are perfect and the staff are friendly. The breakfast was good but don’t expect a big buffet. Good dining options nearby (casa Guedes, get the de casa). Would definitely stay again when in Lisbon.

Great hotel, huge room with really good air con. Lots of bars around area. Only minor point was shampoo was same as body wash so do bring your own toiletries
