Hotels Near Cactacea Drink in Puerto Ayora

I saw in the review that this hotel was budget, but it felt like luxury. Amazing price for what you get. It was my 60-something year old parents and my boyfriend and I, who are in our 30’s. Coming from Isabella Island, we arrived 3 hours early for check-in, yet the family who runs the hotel accommodated us immediately and let us check-in early. The breakfast was included for us and was delicious- coffee and tea and then they bring out fresh juice, fresh fruit, and toast. Then, plantains and cheese slices, and then eggs however you want them ＜3 delicious! Located within walking distance of the main ***** and about half mile to Darwin center. 2 minute walk to pier. The front desk is open most of day and family lives here (I think) so always available and friendly if need anything. The main guy/ dad speaks great English and everyone seemed to understand. Beds comfy. Great water pressure and temp in shower. Had refrigerator and safe (that works) in room. Felt very safe and at home. Multiple water drinkable dispensers. 5 stars+++

We (me, my wife and our 5Y old daughter) stayed in Capitan Max B&B for five nights and it was literally perfect - best lodging experience in Ecuador hands down. After booking the room one of the hosts (Lourdes) contacted me and shared all the information I needed when arriving in Galapagos and she also offered a selection of tours we could take once on the islands. We booked two day tours and one tour on the island through them (incl. pick-up from the airport) and with her suggestions, we were able to see exactly what we came there for. The tours were done by respectable companies, everything went very smoothly and the pricing was fair. So I would definitely suggest organizing your day trips through them as well, no need to waste your time searching online or on the main street, you probably won't get a better offer. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of by the friendliest guy you ever meet - mr Pedro. He had some very good tips on the Santa Cruz island hotspots and how to get around town, he made a delicious breakfast, helped us with all the questions and even let us use his personal computer so we could participate on our parliamentary elections! Thank you so much! The room was clean and very nice, the hammock in a room was of course the instant favorite of our girl. The cleaning lady was placing her dolls in different places every day after she cleaned the room so every time we arrived from our day trip or a hike, our daughter could not wait to see where her dolls are this time. It was a nice game and it showed that all of the staff added something extra to our experience. B&B is situated just a few blocks (minutes) from marina and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby so you could not find a better spot to stay in Puerto Ayora. And you should also check out a little lagoon that is just around the corner - we were able to see sea turtles, seals and a lot of fish swimming there and the birdlife was also nice. So all of this review is a big praise to Capitan Max B&B and I feel it is justified. My regular reviews are not that exuberant but this time there literally was nothing they could have done better. They exceeded our expectations in many ways and made our Galapagos trip very memorable. When we talk about our trip then besides all the fantastic highlights of the nature that the archipelago offers, we always mention our lodging. So if you are going to stay in Puerto Ayora for some nights, then the only excuse why you should not stay in Capitan Max B&B is that they are fully booked on these dates.

Torre Mar is a well run and excellent hotel close to the city center of Puerto Ayora. John, the owner is very hands on. He arranged our pick up from.Baltra airport with Bolivar who is always punctual. John also booked our RT tickets to Isabela Island. You can tell he loves what he does and it reflects on how he takes pride on running Torre Mar. We had a 1 bedroom.suite with a small kitchenette, the bathroom is equipped with toiletries, a nice rain shower and good water pressure, ac working well and has ample towel supply. If you need help with booking tours and other things, don't hesitate to reach out to John. He's a wealth of knowledge as he grew up in Puerto Ayora and is very personable. The rooms are very clean and the bed comfortable. In our short 2 days in Puerto Ayora, John made us feel.at home and treated us like family. Thank you John for everything and kudos to your team for an A++ accommodation.

This hotel was selected for us by our tour package. It started off nice with a welcome juice drink. First of all, this hotel is clean, safe, and presumably cheap (which is why the tour company used it). This hotel is also unnecessarily stingy. Examples: 1. We asked for one (1) extra pillow. It was denied until we insisted. It costs nothing. Why be so niggardly? 2. The minute we left for the day, they turned off the AC in our room, which was set at 25. Therefore, our wet clothing never dried. 3. Breakfast actually made me laugh out loud. The standard was a roll, cheese, and ham. It was my first ever ham garnish. The cheese was half the size of a box of matches. I posted a photo with this review with a dollar for size comparison. I’d like to lose five pounds so no problem for me. It might be one for you if your appetite is more robust. So. There are probably ten cheaper places in Port Aroyo and 10 more expensive places with a better breakfast. There’s a really pretty place with a pool across the street called Maidith. Next time…. Except there won’t be a next time because I’ll never visit the Galápagos again. Too little time, too many places.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The real pluses are the fantastic pool area, very clean with large variety of loungers and great Jacuzzis (albeit a bit hot) The other real benefit if the great location, 5 minutes walk to town and restaurants, but very quiet and secluded in lovely garden areas. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is brought to you and pretty much the same each day but perfectly adequate. The only reason I would not give a 5, is that the rooms are a bit basic and feel quite tired. The bed is huge and bedding is very clean. There is however very little storage space beyond a small rail and only one towel hook in the bathroom. The AC however is very efficient.

Cheerful and helpful owner (Amanda) & family. Not a lot of English spoken (bar Sergey, when he was around, and another girl at reception who we only met once) so without some Spanish there can be misunderstandings. Staff also very friendly and helpful. lnternet was poor (general problem in Galapagos I think) and caused problem paying bill as it failed in mid transaction with CC and we ended up duplicating the payment. To be fair Amanda went straight to bank to cancel as soon as we discovered it - money was back in our a/c in a week or so. Most rooms are good with spotless tiled floors - we ended up sampling 3 different rooms in our 4 night stay (1 night and then 3 more following a gap of a few days). One on 1st floor at the back of building was a big room with mini kitchen incl sink, fridge and microwave but was overlooked by closely adjacent property so we just kept curtains closed most of time which made it a bit gloomy. Equiv room on 3rd floor which we had for a couple of nights was a good room. Twin room on top floor (4th) which we had for 1 night was small but gave you easy access to the rough roof terrace which had a few chairs which we used to have a beer and some snacks watching the sun go down. All rooms we stayed in were noisy though - probably applies to much of Puerto Ayora accommodation - continuous cars in C Seymour, dogs, cockerels from 4 or even earlier, water pumps, etc. etc. not the best if you are a light sleeper. Normally we left the windows open - closing them helped a little but not much. Breakfast was reasonable - not laid out in a buffet but brought on request. Fresh fruit juice, eggs as you prefer, bread/toast, coffee/tea, fruit if you asked for it. Overall were happy enough with the place, esp Amanda & staff and would stay again but not in the room on 1st floor and I'd bring good earplugs.

Finch bay is a fantastic hotel that I will definitely recommend to anyone going to Santa Cruz. We stayed for 2 days and I wish I had longer. Firstly it’s on its own little private area (with a free private boat that you can take to go back and forth). Takes 5 mins. Quiet and relaxing. Also the staff sets you up so you don’t have to worry about getting back to the hotel in case you don’t have service / wifi. Amenities wise it was 10/10. The pool and loungers were great. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Comfy bed and pillows. The staff were all amazing! Very helpful, very nice. The restaurant was one of my fav meals in the Galapagos. Highly recommend the tuna tartar and octopus. If you’re going to Galapagos, definitely stay here!!

Superb accommodation! 2 separate rooms each with a bathroom. Spacious, verandah overlooking an immaculate pool. Included tasty breakfast served beside the pool. Games room/ gym available. Only draw back its 15 minute walk to town. But taxis are $2 and plentiful.
