Resort Stay Review— My overall stay at this resort was great, and I would definitely consider returning with my extended family. Arrival & Ferry Service— The complimentary ferry service from Fairfield Kuala Besut to Perhentian Island and back was a nice touch. We were provided with free drinks, and the waiting area at the restaurant or lobby was comfortable and convenient. Birthday Surprise— This was a birthday trip for my husband, and I truly appreciated the effort put into decorating our room and providing a complimentary birthday cake. It made our stay extra special! Room & Privacy— The room itself was spacious and comfortable, but it lacked privacy as it was clearly visible from the pool opposite (Room No. 2048). I requested a room change to a more private space but, unfortunately, received no response. Cleanliness & Housekeeping Issue— On the second day, I found a dead animal stuck on the daybed’s blind. Since I wasn’t using the blind, I left it there as we were checking out the next day. However, I was disappointed with the front desk’s response when I reported it upon checkout. The receptionist simply said, “Oh, we will ask them to see and remove it,” without offering an apology or even a simple thank you for informing them. For a five-star hotel, I expected better hospitality and professionalism. Dining Experience— • Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with a wide variety of options to choose from. I especially loved the nasi lemak—the sambal was just right, not watery or overly sweet. There were also plenty of desserts and even ice cream, which was a nice surprise! • In-Room Dining: The food was delicious and well-presented, but it wasn’t very warm upon arrival. It would be great if they could serve it hotter or use a warmer. • Restaurant Dinner: I ordered grilled beef, grilled prawns, and fish, and all were absolutely delicious! Facilities & Environment— The resort’s facilities were excellent—top-notch in every aspect. I especially loved the romantic beach area, though the climb to reach it was a bit tiring. Still, the view and experience were worth it! Late Checkout & Departure— A big plus was the complimentary late checkout at 4 PM, which aligned perfectly with the ferry departure time. This was really convenient and appreciated. Final Thoughts— Despite a few minor issues, I truly enjoyed my stay. The resort offers a wonderful experience, great food, and excellent facilities. I would definitely return with my extended family for another trip!

The price of room only is value for money ! You can have a la carte dining in hotel restaurants or a local cafe joint right beside the hotel Nice room , nice beach ! Ask for higher level room if possible to have nice sea view but lots of steps to go down The ferry timing stated in trip.com message is not up to date , best to contact hotel to get latest schedule cause it changes depends on season

I came here with my family of 11. We drove to Kuala Besut, parked our car at Fairfield Marriott and booked ourselves into Fairfield Marriott Kuala Besut for the night before our trip to Marriott Perhentian. The rooms in Kuala Besut are clean, not at all cramped for the price and perfect as a mere stopover. The staff were super-friendly and attentive. They were aware that we were heading out to Perhentian the next day as we had messaged the Perhentian property of our plans prior. The next morning we checked out of Fairfield Marriott and pushed our luggage over to the Marriott Perhentian reception next door under the same roof and were swiftly checked into Marriott Perhentian there and then by the friendly check-in staff. They took our bags and tagged everything according to our respective rooms. The next time we'd see our bags again would be in our rooms on the island as they took care of everything. We were then invited to board the ship that would ferry us over to the island which was super comfortable, clean, air conditioned. We were taken care of by a gracious Ms. Anita throughout our boat ride who offered us sick bags if we got sea sick. Lucky for us, the 40-min ride was not excessively bumpy. Arriving on the island, we were welcomed and greeted by name by a host of staff immediately upon disembarkation and taken on a tour of the property on the buggies that were already waiting for us on the jetty before we were sent straight to our rooms. The rooms are clean, spacious with a lot of natural light filling both the bedchamber and the bathroom. Drinking water is offered and replenished every day. If we wanted to get anywhere on the property, the buggy was only a phone call away. Otherwise, the property is not too big that it is too far to walk to get around. The only thing to keep in mind when walking is that this property is built on a hillside so there are some steep inclines that might be an encumberance for those with limited mobility with walking. The pools are perfect. One for families, one for kids, and one quiet pool that is exclusively for adults. Everyone's preferences is catered to in this regard. The breakfast spread is generous in variety with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and continental options. The F&B staff at Dapur made us feel very welcome every morning and took very good care of us thoroughly. I would like to convey our gratitude to Norhayati, Damia, Joanne, and Firdaus who made us feel like family at breakfast every morning. I came with children aged 5, 8, and 10 and they spent a lot of time by themselves at the Kid's Club all day where they're taken care of by the staff there. There were activities all day in which they participated. If they didn't feel like participating, they kept themselves entertained with books, games, computer, and TV at the club. The location of the resort is a bit secluded and I felt safe allowing them to make their own way to the pools, Kid's Club. If they're not walking on their own, the staff would take them to their destinations and back to their rooms on the buggy. My kids loved this place so much that they've rated it far above an upscale property we've stayed at in Langkawi. The three beaches on the hotel property have clear water and white powder sand but are not the best on the two Perhentian islands but we could hire external party water taxis to take us to better beaches elsewhere. We only did this once during our three-night stay. Every staff we encountered made us feel very welcome and were helpful. I wish I had remembered all their names but the only other two I could recall were Hilmi and Nik Nur. I would definitely come back here again within a couple of years.

The resort hotel was very good in cleanliness. No doubtful at all. Hiwever, the service was very slow. I need to wait almost 2 hours to my luggage send to my room. I already follow up by call asking my luggage more than 3 times. Similar to call for buggy service. The location is quite far from the main attractive point at perhentian. If you want to get and use the facilities, the resort was the best choice.

We had a great time. It is our 2nd wedding anniversary & we have booked a 3 days 2 nights trip to Marriott Pulau Perhentian. The transfer of the ferry is smooth, although we wish they could have more rounds transfer but overall it’s good enough. The restaurant tried their best to accommodate us, also special thanks to Alia from Dapur arranged for us to take away our lunch, they packed it nicely into lunch boxes for us cause we are catching our 12pm ferry after check out. The beaches are nice and not crowded, clean. Rooms are comfortable and service is swift. We will definitely be back again. Thank u guys. Also special thanks for Fairfield by Marriott restaurant staffs. Their service is amazing too.

Good service attitude but lack of experience , order two times for a medium steak in the Dapur, get one medium and one well-done🤣🤣

This is one of the best hotels ive been to. The architecture is really beautiful, the lap pool is amazing, the rooms are really elegant and comfortable, modern, clean. You can see small sharks and lots of fish just down the hotel. The staff is so nice. The surroundings are gorgeous : dont hesitate to explore and get off the beaten tracks. The price of the food and drinks is too expensive, but the meals are well prepared. The breakfast is amazing. I strongly recommend this hotel

The hotels location and facilities are beautiful. There are 3 large swimming pools and a beach and as a result it means there is plenty of room at each location. The food in the 2 restaurants is nice and all the staff are really friendly. Though the price is a little expensive, so would recommend trying a nearby local restaurant (rosemary restaurant is accessible from the Marriott, cheap and has delicious food). The only downside to the stay was the few times we called room service for extra water and towels although promised they would bring the items they never got delivered.

Brand new hotel, two very big swimming pools, however you entirely depend on hotel food because hotel kind of isolated you need boat taxi to go any place else and it costs 150 rm one way per person. If you just stay in the hotel and enjoy amenities of the premise then top choice.

A great travel experience! It was beyond expectation. Thanks to Elli, a Malaysian lady who speaks Chinese very well. Her service was very warm and thoughtful. She gave us good travel suggestions and let us experience the beautiful scenery and food of Perhentian Island. At the same time, thanks to Bruce, the yoga instructor, for taking us to relax in the beautiful nature. The children had a lot of fun. We will stay here again next time if we have the chance.

First of all, there is no problem with the hardware and environment. The hotel's private beach is very good for snorkeling. People who pay to snorkel outside also come to this beach. The ferry is large and comfortable. There is a welcoming ceremony when you go ashore. Some welcome drinks would be better. The main problem is that some problems are exposed in the service. 1. I arrived at Perhentian Island on the 19th of this month by the hotel's exclusive boat and checked into the hotel. Unfortunately, my child accidentally left the Switch game console on the boat when leaving the boat. We went directly to the hotel to check in and did not notice the omission in time. According to the information provided by the staff, they will clean up after the customers get off the boat, and the staff should be able to find the game console when cleaning the boat. It was not until today when I was about to leave that I found that the game console was missing. I immediately requested to retrieve the surveillance video to find the whereabouts of the game console, but was told that the surveillance could not provide effective information. 2. Before making a travel plan, we communicated with the hotel to understand the ferry schedule. We booked our tickets and car according to the time provided in the email sent by the hotel. It was not until we arrived at the hotel that we found out that the arrival and departure times of the ferry provided in the email were reversed, which resulted in us waiting for two and a half hours when we went there, and waiting for five hours when we came back at a very small airport without a seat. This experience was very bad. 3. The waiting time for the hotel's shuttle bus is generally 5-10 minutes. Combining the above issues, I feel that the management and service still need to be improved.

The service is very good and pays attention to details. The facilities are very good, the scenery is beautiful, the hotel is not crowded and comfortable, and the experience is great. The hotel's food and beverage are also good. The only drawback is that the quilt is a bit airtight and the pillow is not very comfortable to sleep on. The overall experience exceeded expectations and is well received.
