Castellum Suites - All Inclusive

Had a great time here. The all-inclusive was definitely worth its price, I wish I was able to stay longer for both the hotel experience and to explore more of the island.

The hotel itself has nicely furnished communal areas and a good vibe. Some may find the facilities rather limited but these were perfect for us. All staff were very helpful, polite and always had time to give advice or assistance along with a welcoming smile and greeting. We were initially disappointed with the room we had been allocated - we had requested a double and had been given a triple. As this was our first holiday in many years without children , we asked if a double room was available and were promptly moved. The second room we were allocated was overlooking the pool but directly facing a large concrete wall so we asked to be moved again. We moved to a lovely room overlooking the road at the front of the hotel. Although there was some road noise, this room was preferential for us. Our room was made up every day. Beds were made/changed and clean towels provided. Our room and the hotel itself was spotless and had a lovely smell. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and found both food and drink in ample supply and of good quality. There was a good selection of well-presented food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything that we ate, we enjoyed. The pool area had a boutique feel, furnished mainly with sofas - more sun loungers would be good. We didn't swim in the pool as the water was too cold. But did enjoy the outside area. The hotel is in a good location for those wishing to explore Rhodes Old Town and other areas of historic archaeological interest. The bus depot and port are both within walking distance, giving easy access to the rest of the island, Marmaris and Symi. We would not hesitate in staying there again.

We stayed for 10 nights at the end of September/beginning October and had some reservations reading reviews but overall it was a nice hotel and we had a lovely holiday Rooms - were clean and functional, bathroom flooded each time we used it due to wet room drainage needing cleaning, but didn’t impact on us, just mopped the floor with the towels which were replaced daily Storage in bedroom was sparse, but having read this we came prepared with collapsible hanging storage shelf from Amazon which assisted Hotel was clean inside and staff were lovely and friendly, however I can see why they may appear grumpy at times due to the incredibly rude, obnoxious people who have no basic manners and never say please or thank you to them and they work very long hours Food - actually was quite good, we have done all inclusive many times and are prepared to have to eat out at night due to poor quality but we didn’t feel the need to do that here, food was tasty , ok could have been warmer at times, but overall no issues at all Bar - area much too small for seating at night which was disappointing and because you couldn’t sit out by the pool it limited options, so ended up sitting in the reception area which was too warm. All inclusive timing the same as many other hotels we’ve stayed at ending at 1030pm, drink quality was acceptable Pool - disappointed with the pool area and water quality as it was very cloudy and green around the edges and this obviously meant lack of cleaning and chlorine quality, so didn’t use it more than once , also kids pool was disgusting and just green around the sides . Whole area just lacked maintenance, but as it was end of season soon they probably didn’t want to invest too much. Reception - staff were great, very friendly and helpful Overall I would not rate this a 4* due to lack of facilities but it was a great base for visiting the old town and the island

I have a serious peanut allergy and the staff were amazing and really helpful they asked the chef everyday to see what I could eat and there was lots of options just had to avoid the dessert..There is allergy cards on the food but it is best to talk to the staff so they can make sure there isn’t any nuts in the food. Eating out in Rhodes I showed the staff an allergy card in Greek and had no issues I could eat at most places again just avoiding the desserts. The hotel is very clean, the room was clean and spacious. The location is great just a short walk into the old town.
