"It was a little disappointing when the receptionist was being quite unprofessional as I approached her for a spare room card. She told me that the guest was British after I told her my surname meaning that she didn't consider that a Chinese person can be British, how backwards and ****** such behavior this is. Lack of exposure might be the answer ;however, I was expecting a lot more from a 4 star establishment. Must I stress that the reason we conversed in Mandarin is a respect to the local staff yet it always backfires in situation like this. More training should be provided."

"The hotel's overall design blends French retro with modern aesthetics, creating a very stylish and photogenic space in every corner. The staff were friendly and professional, making us feel right at home from the moment we checked in. Our room was clean and comfortable, the bed was soft and provided a great night's sleep, and the quiet, relaxing environment allowed us to fully recover from our travels. The most delightful surprise was the live piano performance during breakfast. Paired with the exquisite and delicious food, it added a wonderful sense of occasion and made our mornings even more enjoyable."

"I search recommended Tainan accommodation on a social media and Jai Hotel & Hostel ranked # 1. I saw good reviews including honest pictures on multiple platforms. Plus I received 50% discount from the booking platform, so I decided to give it a try. This is my only non-private room stay in my entire 2 weeks of vacation in Taiwan and the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in general. The bedding and pillow are good cotton fabric. Room, shower room are clean. I stayed in the female dorm. Room and shower room needs to use room key for access. They offer eye mask and 3M earplugs. I like the smart safe to keep the valuables. What surprised me is that self-serve afternoon tea and food are offered. Food is fresh and good quality. There is a 24h coin laundry next to the 24h 7-11 convenience store in the same building complex. You can check the laundry availability and program progress from your phone. I wish there would be more Hotel & Hostels like this in Taiwan."

"This hotel really added a bonus to my trip in Tainan. It was honestly comfortable till the stage when the day ended, we actually looked forward to return to the hotel (didn’t feel like a hotel anymore, but more like going home) The location is really good too. It’s in a pretty open area surrounded by residential places, markets, and sports areas, so everything is quite convenient. Places like Shennong Street and other attractions are about a 15-18 minute walk away. The whole area is nice for city walks, just casually walking around also feels interesting. The room itself is new, clean, and well designed. Bathroom has proper dry-wet separation feels really nice and relaxing. The bed is also super comfortable and clean (there was just a few tiny hole, but it didn’t really affect anything) Overall, the whole place has a really nice vibe. Good service, good room, good location, honestly very worth it for the price. My friend and I really liked it, and we didn’t really want to leave when we checked out."

"We stayed at Avon's Airbnb for three days and had a very pleasant experience. On our first day, Avon and her husband gave us a warm welcome, complete with delicious cake. Avon gave us tons of food recommendations based on our preferences, and we ended up trying over 20 local eateries in Tainan – we only wished we had bigger stomachs! The room was super clean and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. My husband even wanted to ask Avon where she bought the pillows because he slept so well (he's very particular about beds and pillows, and used to even bring his own when traveling, but Taiwan was too far for that). Getting around was also very convenient, with so many delicious local snacks nearby; three days just wasn't enough to try everything. We definitely want to stay in Tainan longer if we get the chance again. A big thank you to Avon and her husband! Just a small suggestion: a little stool by the door would make putting on shoes much easier when heading out."

"The room that I stayed was pretty nice. A bed is a queen size bed, and can fit two girls in the same bed. The bathroom also nice looks clean and big. It was like 15 minutes walk from the train station. However, the stair to go up to the third floor is pretty steep so it might not be convenient for the big suitcase."

The overall atmosphere is perfect for couples—quiet yet warm—a place I'd definitely want to return to!"
