Miyakojima Hotels with Rooftop Pools

"The cleanliness was excellent, as expected from a new facility! It smelled good everywhere. However, the room had a faint body odor-like smell (spicy), which wasn't to my taste, but it wasn't overly unpleasant. As for amenities, there was no cleansing oil or toner, so women should definitely bring their own. I did receive a soap along with a hand cream as a gift. I didn't have time to try the recommended pool, so no comments there. The staff were all very nice! Honestly, though, I felt it was a bit overpriced. I probably wouldn't stay here again."

"The hotel is located very close to Miyako Airport and doesn't have a view of the ocean, but it was an incredible price at 10,000 yen for three people with breakfast included. It felt like a very clean business hotel. It seems to cater to many long-term guests, as we were able to use the laundry room and microwave. The room also provided basic amenities like toothbrushes, body towels, and shampoo, but guests had to bring their own cotton balls and tea from the lobby on the first floor. There was no lotion or other amenities, so guests had to bring their own. There was no view of the ocean from the room, and there were neighboring buildings and plumbing, but it felt more like a single-person studio apartment. The room did have a kettle, mugs, and a refrigerator, but no glasses. Plates were available for rent at the front desk on the first floor. I booked a plan with breakfast included, and the Miyako soba noodles I had for breakfast were not too strong and were very delicious. All the hotel staff were also very kind, and the restaurant staff in particular kept a close eye on keeping the place clean and were very helpful with customer support, making breakfast a pleasant experience. Of course, everything was delicious. You could even see the sunrise from the hotel, which was beautiful. It's close to the airport, so if you arrive in Miyakojima late, this hotel might be a good choice if you're planning to stay overnight first."

"I was very pleased with the friendly service at check-in and check-out! It was close to the beach, so I could walk to snorkeling. While it wasn't a busy area, there were plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops nearby, so I had no issues during my stay. The room was in decent condition. There was a separate laundry room and I could pay via app, which was very convenient. I also liked that they provided free ice! I didn't go in the pool, but it looked fun with the exciting music and lights! Thanks to them, I had a great trip!!"

"This hotel boasts an excellent location, perfectly sized rooms, and stunning views. It's also quite new, with great facilities and top-notch service. My only slight disappointment was the wait for breakfast, but it was tolerable. The best part is that breakfast runs from 6:30 AM all the way to 1 PM, which is a blessing for late sleepers!"

"Pros: The swimming pool and small beach are convenient for playing in the water; parking is close and ample; the rooms are spacious and functional; the hotel is clean; the staff speak Chinese; the housekeeping staff are very polite and smiling; the hotel shop has a wide selection of common souvenirs and local specialties. Cons: The surrounding dining options are not as numerous as in the city; latex pillows are not provided; and the breakfast options and variety are limited."

"The room view is simply incredible, hands down the best on Miyakojima. The Coral Wing rooms are newer, but not as close to the ocean as the Ocean Wing. Personally, I think the Ocean Wing offers better value for money. The buffet breakfast and dinner are served in the same place; breakfast is definitely more lavish than dinner. A huge shout-out to the staff! My husband left some clothes behind, and while Trip.com was no help at all, I contacted the hotel directly, and they went above and beyond to mail them to us in Naha! A big thank you to the staff for their help!! They were truly dedicated and sincere in assisting us, not just going through the motions. Thank you!"

"“I rarely find a hotel that gets everything right, but this one did. From the moment you arrive, you notice a genuine care for the guest. Everything flows naturally, without complications or delays. "Watermark was a perfect location for us on a couple’s getaway. Since we were flying into Shimojishima airport and rented a car, we found it to be a very convenient location—only a six minute drive away. Although we could see the runway in the distance, we hardly noticed the noise of air traffic. On top of that, we enjoyed that it was in a remote area and not in the middle of town (like Miyakojima) or in the midst of a major resort area (like Shigira). We didn’t mind exchanging more driving time for more serenity. I could go on about the location but if you are looking for a quiet place on the water, I highly recommend this hotel! The staff were always polite, which is expected in Japan, but there was also a kind of relaxed warmth that I haven’t always felt from staff in other Japanese hotels. The facilities also struck a perfect balance for us. Not garish, not too plain; just enough island flavor but not too much. I was refreshed every time I walked through the lobby. The breakfast buffet area was clean, fairly well organized and offered a great view of the ocean. We enjoyed our breakfast times daily. We used the laundry facilities and found the machines easy to use—glad to have had this option. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from both our room balcony and the rooftop pool. We loved our room. It was simple but had everything we we wanted, including a balcony. If you’ve ever seen a modern Japanese one room apartment, it feels much the same, without the gas range. It was perfect for our stay."

"Elegant environment! First class service! Clean up! The massage techniques and methods of the SPA need to be improved. Training should be increased, or one to two Thai technicians should be invited to guide the training, so that more guests will experience this service. Lunch is monotonous, and it is recommended to increase the supply of varieties and specialty foods."
