"Nice breakfast. Good hotel in front of the beach. Didn’t like the room facilities, towels and bed linen seems too old"

"I stayed in this hotel from the 23rd June until the 27th with my daughter and granddaughter I chose the hotel for it Entertainment and the nice rooms. Unfortunately the rooms did not meet my expectations. According to the photos supplied i was looking forward to a nice fresh looking room, unfortunately this was not the case. The rooms looked very tired and old. The photos were probably taken 10 yrs previously. The entertainment was all in Spanish !!, including the Bingo. For a hotel of 9 Floors, the offered one Table Tennis Table . The two swimming pools were VERY small for a hotel of this size and offered probably only 30 sunbeds. The best thing about this Hotel was the food, could not fault it . Checking was a nightmare with only one receptionist working. It appears we are expected to check ourselves online. So i would not recommend this Hotel."

"Hotel is lovely and clean, all staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The restaurant area is spacious and the waiters/waitresses are amazing. All of the staff at the snack bar on ground floor are amazing. Receptionists are helpful. We loved our stay here and would definitely come again."

"The rooms are a bit small, especially the bathroom, and the tap in the sinks is very short, so much so that when you wash your hands you rub against the sink: uncomfortable and unpleasant. For me it is the worst thing about the hotel. Otherwise phenomenal: it is worth highlighting the cleanliness (it is incredible how they clean the pool facilities every day, in general everything is very clean) and the kindness of the reception staff, cleaning staff, waiters... I don't know if they are all That's nice or they are very well trained, but they don't have a bad face when faced with any request and super helpful. Special mention to two cooks: an older one who used to be at the grill and another young man with glasses who, as soon as you asked for something, they brought it out immediately. I also want to thank Alba from animation who made it possible for my daughter to come home with her potato 🥰 In addition, there was an error in my reservation and they had the detail to cancel some expenses that this error caused me. I guess for this I will have to thank the hotel management who, given the way things are, do their job well. It is the second year we are going and we do not rule out a third."

"We visited as a family of three from the UK. We had high expectations of this hotel as it was not cheap and was rated highly on trip advisor and on the beach (which we booked via). Firstly, I would highly recommend not booking via o the beach. There is no customer service and upgrades to different hotels are extortionate. Customer service is AI only. The hotel itself is ok. It could do with being tidied up on the outside. It is quite scruffy. The rooms are large and cool with good air con. There are no kettles in the rooms (we have a 1 year old so made it impossible to make formula). There is a coffee machine which has two pods - espresso. There are no usb ports. They only restock mini bar with fizzy drinks and not the cava. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was also fine. We had a balcony which was good as we enjoyed sitting out in the evenings. If you have a residence room you will be put in the area near the swimming pool which is a pain to get to reception from, two lifts. We found that for an all inclusive hotel offered on a website like onthebeach, that apparently catered to English people, the service was very poor. There were no fluent English speakers, and there was lots of confusion. Staff did not seem to want to help us, and it made it hard to ask the most basic questions. We asked for car hire, and they said there is nothing they can do. We asked for a kettle, they do not supply kettles. The meal times (as brits) were far too late for us. Dinner was at 8pm, this made it very difficult to give our daughter food. There is one snack bar in which served food only between 4pm-6pm. It just served burger and hot dogs. The kids club area that is advertised is only open for 3 hours per day - again, not the right times for us 4-6 and 22:00-23:00. All activity programmes were in Spanish, nothing in English. Food was ok. Lunches would be the same as dinners most days. Drinks again were fine, nothing to celebrate. There are two small pools, again outside could do with a tidy. Lots of astroturf and pools look tired. Gandia itself is a very small town. The beach is lovely and has huge stretches of sand. We got access to the magic club as we had ultra all inclusive. It was a nice touch to have included drinks on the pool. I think the hotel should consider sticking to its usual clientele of Spanish tourists. Brits stay away. I would definitely recommend doing your research (I will be in future), as this just didn’t work for us as a family/ brits."

"Girlfiend & I just back from 5 night B&B stay at Oliva Nova to attend a family wedding in nearby Pego. Overall a positive Hotel experience, reasonably good breakfast & particularly enjoyed easy access to beautiful beach. But am compelled to comment on Hotel Staff attitude which was definitely not customer focussed, at times passive, and in one instance bordering on aggressive. I've stayed in hotels across Europe, Asia & Americas and am sure I wasn't imagining this. Of particular note was attitude from Restaurant Manager at El Olivo. After we complained about steaks which were clearly presented "raw" after we ordered them "well done", their waiter offered they would be further cooked & would be "on the house". Afterwards we were billed for the steaks, and when I objected to the Manager he quickly became visibly & audibly angry. We paid for the steaks if only to save the waiter from any negative fallout. Experienced poor attitude on at least three occasions. Oliva Nova should acknowledge this & recognise they should do something about it otherwise customers like us will find alternative Hotels to spend our money."
