Old Radio hostel

The hostel is inside quiet alley of the old city, which needs like 10 min walk from any bus/tram stations but easy to locate nevertheless. All rooms are facing the inner countryard so it’s quiet and peaceful. Room (and bed) is large and A/C is strong. Private bathroom is tiny but functioning with hot shower and hair dryer. Breakfast is good and drinking water is available to refill. Receptionist/manager/staff are all friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and sightseeing suggestions.

It's more expensive than most hostels in Samarkand, but you do get what you pay for. the hostel seems fairly new and everything is well maintained. it's a small hostel and it's almost always fully booked, so it's easy to meet people. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great. The location is great too, it's right at the historic center so most attractions are within walking distance. I guess my only gripe is the limited number of toilets. You have to wait a while if the dorm room is full.

I didn't think I would be writing a positive review as there was an issue with the electricity on my first day, which meant that it was off for the entire night. However, my perception changed when I met Shezod and his family, who own and run the hostel. They are incredibly friendly and nice people, and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The hostel itself is also very clean and well-maintained. I was impressed with the facilities, which included comfortable beds, clean sheets and towels, and a hot shower. The location of the hostel is also great, as it is situated in a convenient spot that makes it easy to explore the city on foot. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at this hostel and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Samarkand. The warm hospitality of Shezod and his family, along with the clean and comfortable accommodation, made for a great experience that I will not forget.

This is easily one of the best hostels I ever staid in! It's like hostel meets family visit... It's a beautiful, comfortable and tastefully decorated hostel around a shady courtyard with all amenities. I staid both in the private en-suite room (hotel quality) and the dorm (very comfortable beds with a lot of privacy). The personal attention of the owner is incredible: delicious breakfast cooked by the family, help with travel planning and by far the best tips of Samarkand!
