Don Gregory by Dunas - Adults Only

Have just returned from a week of being waited on hand and foot. THE STAFF make this hotel one of the best we have ever visited. Can’t mention them all but special thanks to Andrew on entertaining, Hudson at the pool bar always happy and courteous. Other waiting staff, Diosuany was so professional Alexander, Jessica, Maria, Laura, Angelica, all these staff were amazing. Raul & Oswaldo at the pool always smiling and helpful putting up umbrellas if we struggled.

We had a wonderful holiday here in Gran Canaria. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Particular mention goes to Andrew from the entertainment team - we thoroughly enjoyed the beach yoga and infinity poolside Pilates with Andrew! There’s a great choice of food to suit all tastes and the all inclusive wine is most enjoyable. The evening entertainment is varied and fun.

We came here, a group of two married couples, in March 2024 and had such a great time we booked another trip there and then. We returned this March and knew exactly what the hotel had to offer; good clean bedrooms, good food, good facilities and good entertainment. What makes this hotel stand out? It has a great location; there’s a path from the pool area to the beach via a secure gate, it’s near to all the amenities and attractions and the hotel faces south, so the sun shines on the pools and bar all day! But one thing really makes this hotel stand out above the rest; the staff. From the minute you walk into the hotel on your first day, you are met by happy, polite, knowledgeable staff who will guide you through check-in and direct you to your rooms. Every single member of staff we met during our stay have gone the extra mile to make our stay a most memorable experience. Ramon answered all my email queries prior to our arrival with a promptness and enthusiasm that made us feel special. Andrew, in Entertainment department made us very welcome and the dining room staff all rallied round to make our dining room sessions easier (one of our party is visually challenged) by keeping tables aside for us to enable him to negotiate the room easier. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an adult destination.

This was a return visit for us to this hotel, so that says something about the place I guess. We chose Bed and Breakfast only so cannot comment on the Dinner element or the 'All Inclusive' aspect. Breakfast was plentiful though it felt like there was less variation in food offered each day over the course of the week than on our previous visit. The hotel location is ideal, on the beach with direct access to it and plenty of local restaurants nearby. Swimming Pools and Sun-beds are clean and the Pool Attendants/Lifeguards were always willing to assist with guests, in particular those with less mobility. Though the walk space between sunbeds seemed a bit tight compared to before, maybe a few more beds have been squeezed in! The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, with cleaning staff working well into the evening in the public areas. Staff, whether Restaurant, Bar or Room Service were friendly, engaging and helpful throughout our stay ... this wasn't necessarily the case though with the Reception Staff who, whilst professional and responded to all queries, could perhaps show a little more engagement and interest (like all other staff at the hotel). Rooms are clean, bright and spacious. All rooms look out on to the sea, though the lower level rooms appeared to have some restricted views. Our room, as a Premium Room, had a nice touch with a gift of a bottle of Cava in the fridge for us on our arrival, however the fridge was not plugged in, so a warm bottle of Cava wasn't the greatest of gifts. My issue with this is not the warm Cava but that nobody noticed that the fridge was not working. Maybe Staff are too rushed to check/notice that something isn't working? The one particular issue that we would make was the practice of the daytime 'Animation' staff going around guests and getting them to complete Reviews there and then, including occasionally taking the guests phone to complete the review themselves! I don't know whether they are contracted in staff or hotel staff but it places the integrity of these reviews in question. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Don Gregory by Dunas Hotel and would certainly look to return at some stage.

Fantastic hotel - good food, easy beach access, great staff. Stayed here for a week in 2024, and returned in 2025. 2024 was as a couple, and 2025 included a 91 year old relative. Staff were helpful everywhere - food is ample and good, entertainment provided but that is optional. One member of staff (Andrew) was particularly good. He welcomed people to the restaurant most evenings, ran pool aerobics and provided Spanish lessons. But all the staff were good - we just didn't get all their names. No children in the hotel, so the demographic was older. Lots of British and German holidaymakers. Got a parking space for the week at a very fair price which made life easier.
